Luca was a very good trainer he didn't have the horses that some trainer's had , he achieved lots more from the horse's he had than some.
Luca trained quality horses he didn't do numbers he did quality. .
I remember a horse he trained called alkaseed that "should " have won the coronation cup at Epsom grp1 but given an awful ride ..
Luca then sent alkaseed to France for a grp1 but this time booked frankie to ride i didn't know it was running and missed the good priced winner, I was reading the racing post Monday and saw it had won..
Frankie apparently worked at Ladbrokes in Newmarket as a board man until barney curley spotted him working there and told him Mr cumani wouldn't like it..
I remember frankie also had an association with reg hollinshead, most good jockeys had been to reg hollinshead, reg was a good trainer but he also trained jockeys. .
