    I'm not gonna lie, I can't afford 3/4 of the things you review, but they are some of the best reviews and eventually down the road, I will know how to make a kick ass simulator. Thanks for the reviews Barry :)

    Barry your videos are exceptional. I dont think there's many sim racing reviewers where I'd sit through an hour long video but the in depth analysis is fascinating. Keep up the great work.

    I recommended one of these to one of my SimRacing teammates and we went through the hassle of getting them ordered and shipped to his location. He is over the moon happy with them compared to all the other options he had laying around for his budget at the time. Extremely great set of pedals!

    Hi Barry,
    Wish this message finds you well. If you had the option to choose between the PT-2, CSL Elite (LC) or Clubsport pedals, which one would you pick. In my opinion I like the PT-2 as they are mostly all aluminum/steel body which, I think provide a better longevity than the CSL Elite. On the other hand the CSL elite, are half the price point, and I think Fanatec may provide a better warranty than ProtoSimTech.
    With that being said, if you had to choose a pedal set, which one would it be?
    Thanks,

      @@anthonylee14 They held up great till now...The feel is just day and night compared to my old set...but that was to be expected...They are pretty rugged so I am not too worried that they could break. That said, the electronic parts are probably prone to fail like anything else but they are easily replaceable and I guess you could find them online. Don't take my word for it tho I did not even check.

    Great in depth review as always! Kinda wish I had paid out more and gone for something above the V3 but they will do for now. Here in the UK though, may as well opt for the Heusinkveld over these for just over £600.
    Now you have had it a while longer, have your thoughts changed on the fan kit? It looks like they weren't on here. Is that to save noise in the video, or do you find you often don't bother with them now?

    • @simracinggarage3026
      @simracinggarage3026  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seriously tempted, well they are certainly on my lost lol
      Barry may I pick your brain a moment. I am having a strange OSW issue, the next step of which would be to return the whole lot for SimPlicity to test and swap out the unit, not ideal. Basically, the motor power cable was causing issues with my Vive Pro and USB devices. I wrapped it in foil and grounded it, which works perfectly, albeit not a neat and tidy solution. SimPlicity had a shielded cable made up and sent to me. The shielding works (no false inputs from USB and Vive works properly) but otherwise it does not behave as it should.
      Here is a link to a tiny video showing the issue...
      th-cam.com/video/mlXxIPFQD5E/w-d-xo.html
      Any ideas on how this is possible? No other changes were made to hardware or software, literally, only the cable was swapped.
      Many thanks

    That heel plate is obviously meant to be used differently. It clearly wasn’t designed to hold the plate like that. Maybe asking the creators what was in their mind would be a good idea. Thanks for another beautiful review!

      Yes I think too that he mounted the heel plate correctly. But the mount simply doesn't seem to be constructed to hold the plate in different hights...it's just an extension as you say.

    Hurry up and get them, Prototech is closing shop, i'd like to get them but the shipping and import makes it a bit to much for me :( Hopefully ProtoTech will consider selling the pattern to a company that can keep making them cuz they seem damn good.

  • @LogiForce86
    @LogiForce86 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The guys should roughen up the metal brackets for the heel plate on one side, so that the plates actually bite into the acrylic material, albeit that would (slightly) damage the acrylic as a result. That or find a more proper way to make an adjustable heal plate.
    To be honest, a slab of acrylic with non-functioning heel plate isn't worth 89 dollars. Anyone could whip up something in their shed for less that would simply work for their application.

  • @PastorwithoutaPulpit
    @PastorwithoutaPulpit 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I realize this is an older video but I wanted to comment that the Spacers may simply be to make adjusting the pedals easier as well as re-enforcing the HDPE against the torque of the flat nut and base of the pedal being tightened against it. The spacers should also bolster stability against rolling or side torque by a small bit as well as helping to make sure they're straight and in line with each other vertically.

    • @simracinggarage3026

      Stiffer springs would certainly add resistance. However, I would ask Chris at Proto SimTech about any detrimental effects the increased pressure may have on the rest of the clutch pedals parts.

      They are similar in certain ways I think. But, I think if I were in Europe I would go with the HE's. They are a very good set of pedals. If I were in the states, I would go with the PT2 if I didn't mind waiting for a new batch of pedals to become available. And of course there is no guarantee that you will be fast enough to secure a set of pedals. If you do mind waiting or taking a chance on even getting a set when they are ready to buy, I would go with the HE Pro's and just get on with having fun in my driving games.

      Actually, for me the Heusinkveld pedals are local. In fact, I live in the city of Groningen. So I could just pick them up in typical Dutch style, by bicycle.
      Also if Trump wants a trade war with Europe than by all means I have more of a reason to support local products of course.
      Still, it would be a shame to see the sim racing market being torn up because of a president that is on a constant war path with everyone and everything in the world.
