It's generally a fraudulent debate, since neither candidate is the party nominee. Both the DNC and RNC have yet to have their convention.
Our democracy functions as a two party system. Third parties can't win and are always spoilers for one party or another. This is a bad thing, but it's true. We need to either lose the electoral college or have ranked choice voting at the federal level, ideally both.
