I love the Ploughcroft Tea Room for afternoon tea & Market at Main for Saturday brunch, Also - LOVE Booksshop on the Avenue on Memorial Avenue. Best used bookstore ever! But the best thing in Lynchburg is visiting my daughter,, son-in-law and granddaughter, who live there!
I have lived right in downtown Lynchburg since 2012! Bought a new condo on the riverfront just last year after renting a studio loft for several years. My new pad has sweeping balcony views of the James River, Jefferson Street, and mountains in the background. It's a great hidden gem. Lots of new restaurants and things to do popping up every week within a 8 minute walk of my place... Getting a new brewery at 13th and Court Streets and German-style beer garden on Jefferson St later this year. Brand new rooftop bar Skyline at the newly restored Virginian Hotel is amazing. Also check out the Lower Bluffwalk area restaurants (Bootleggers and El Jefe). Five amazing historic districts surround downtown (I'd highly recommend folks check out Diamond Hill, Daniels Hill, Garland Hill, and Rivermont Ave too).
Yesss so many great updates coming to Downtown Lynchburg!! A lot has changed since we lived there! :) That's awesome you live right downtown! Always wanted to do that!
We are a military family transitioning out and possibly moving to Lynchburg for a job in a few weeks. We have visited before to snowboard on at the snowplex and visit a few of the shops when I attended Longwood University in Farmville, but this video really gave me some insight! I am getting pumped!
If you like hiking let me know. I know a ton of spots within an hour to hour and a half drive that are great. Everything from challenging to easy. Just hit me up on Instagram and I can give you the spots! Thanks for watching
This video appears to be someone's homework assignment. I live in Lynchburg VA. They are making this video at the worst time of year. It should have been made in the spring or fall.
I grew up in Lynchburg and would leave for military service and would live and work in Norfolk for 31 years. After retiring from working for Norfolk I would return to Lynchburg on 1/1/2018. The decision for that move was several but what did play a role is much is happening in Lynchburg and that excited me. So I am back.
A hometown tour! I've never been to Lynchburg, though we used to live a few hours away just outside of DC. I like university campuses in Virginia, they're always so stately!
Lived in lynchburg from 2008-2011 while going to LU. Have lived in Northern VA ever since and I'm seriously considering just pulling up my roots up here and moving back down there.
With so many links to Liberty U, it was great to watch this one. I have a nephew going there for med, a youth pastor that I served beside as a leader is a graduate and still goes back to teach, his son and daughter both have graduated from there and many students that I served as a youth leader attended/graduated from there. I have yet to get there. Keep them coming.....
Fun to tour your home town! We did that with our Forest Park Series a bit. River walk looks great! We have had trouble with Sunsets too lately. It's been kind of a gloomy Winter. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
@@TheJourneyest2016 Speaking of weather! There are places in Canada that historically enjoy much warmer winters than Lynchburg (Data source is NOAA - a US government agency!).
So please copy/paste the following google searches (using specifically Google’s search engine!) and average all 6 numbers for each location…
1. Lynchburg, Virginia average winter temperatures
2. Race Rocks, Canada average winter temperatures Are you surprised by the fact the winters are so much warmer in Race Rocks, Canada than Lynchburg, Virginia?
Your video just popped up on my recommendations and I'm glad. I used to live in Lynchburg and it's definitely a underrated city. I'm on the other side of the mountain now near Natural Bridge.
Really enjoyed how you guys presented this, it's always great to have a tour from people who really know the place. The riverwalk trail looks really nice - would love to cycle around there. I can see that the sunset spot would be amazing, the view is still good! So awesome that your university has that view as well
I am surprised how fast you travel, one day you are in Virginia, after a few days in Nevada. Interesting way to present the area and great cap Lucas :)
I love this! My husband and I met in Lynchburg and we’ll be moving back this year! We have family in Lynchburg so we’ve been back to visit a lot of the past few years. We just uploaded a video to our channel on our 5 favorite Lynchburg public parks! I’d love for y’all to check it out!
It only rained a couple times. It actually had just snowed A TON, before we came. Lynchburg actually had a really bad flooding back in the end of summer beginning fall season. Almost broke one of the dams in the city. We moved to TX so that Lucas could go to seminary :) Then his family brought their business out here too!
i'm here after one of my crazy ex bfs put on fb today that i'm "pregnant with his actual DNA'd baby and livin in lynchburg va" lmfao i'm not pregnant nor have i eva been here..
Lynchburg is boring and depressing. Moved here a year ago and now matter how much I get out, try to explore, or watch videos, I discover nothing I hadn't already within 3 months of being there. I wish there was more going on. Coming from Buffalo NY it has been a disappointment on many fronts..
Whereas I once loved this area, 2020 demolished all love I had for it. The city of Lynchburg, the businesses and the culture showed their true colors - with Liberty University leading the charge.
What's your favorite thing to do in Lynchburg?
I live in the Lynchburg area
Head to the airport .
Leave
Visit Ota Benga’s grave
Trish McBites yeah guess I was one of them??? Because I went there...

Didn't know there was that much hiking opportunity there and I agree - view from the gazebo is pretty terrific.

Oh that musical graffiti is so so cool
Yeah pretty sweet! :)
Can't wait to move back to Lynchburg. Way too Hot in FL.
Thinking about moving here
I lived there for 8 years of my life. Beautiful area. Great people. Can be a little bit of a bubble at times but great place to learn and grow.

So cool! When did you guys meet? For school?
The river behind you looks like it is flooding? It must have been raining a lot when you guys were in Lynchburg. Why did you guys move to Texas?

Gotcha. Almost breaking a dam? That's crazy. What's his family's business, if I may ask?
Are there any cheap motels where I can stay at??
i'm here after one of my crazy ex bfs put on fb today that i'm "pregnant with his actual DNA'd baby and livin in lynchburg va" lmfao i'm not pregnant nor have i eva been here..

I believe at this time we were shooting with a lumix gh4
I was born there but never made it back to figure it out. Rare a Chinese man being born there.
You were born in Lynchburg, VA?
@@TheJourneyest2016 yup. Rare
Lynchburg College now University of Lynchburg? Such a bad move. So disappointed in that decision.

Hell nothing there ain’t nothing in Lynchburg
I was born in there but never explore it

Can you explain? Jerry Falwell?
Practice soccer in L.U
Cool!
Step 1. LEAVE
Lmao trying to make a professional youtube video yet the majority of the shots are shakey as heck. Never heard of of a tripod or gimbal?
David Alexandrovitch thanks for watching!
