Very nice! I was looking for a Christmas JAFF audiobook and found this. Turns out I had read the story before in an anthology, but that didn't make it less fun to listen to, especially since it was long enough ago that I didn't remember everything. And Benjamin Fife is always a pleasure to listen to. Thanks for making it available, and Merry Christmas!
Thanks for reading our anthology, Randi. 🌹I built my TH-cam channel using four novellas from these books. Thanks for the props. Have a blessed Christmas, and thanks for listening.
Laura Hile and Benjamin Fife do it again! A clever plot and fun side characters from other Austen novels (but the author is true to the personalities that Jane Austen gave them). Just enough mystery to wonder about who is pulling the strings to bring these people together and then the plot twist! What an enjoyable short story! Benjamin Fife is an enjoyable voice actor who does a variety of voices and accents; he truly brings the story to life!
This story is great fun and it was a surprise to encounter Emma in it. In my past I knew a modern day Emma whose attempts at matchmaking were as hopeless and irritating as poor Emma's.Cute and clever touch having 'aunt'Jane with her insistence on Happy Endings.A touch of Yule tide magic indeed!😂🌟❤
Wonderful! What a great story with an unusual group of familiar characters, intriguing storyline, along with a little tongue-in-cheek thrown in to tie it all together and then draw it rapidly to the correct conclusion...with some twists!
So interesting! 1/3 done, I really enjoy this fresh story! I hope theres a part two of this it was captivating!!! I wish it were even longer- I kept smiling throughout !
How refreshing and delightful to have a male voice narrate the characters. Female voices for male characters seemed hoarse and strained, whereas male voices seem to be able to handle the higher feminine registers better than female voices attempting lower baritone registers. I would have enjoyed this more if I had recalled at the time the identity of the characters brought in from other Austen novels. I still don’t fully understand the time misplacement, or “time travel” passages. Certainly a unique and whimsical twist to a much-beloved novel and character couple.
Very interesting using Aunt Jane’s interference and the muddle of characters from other books. An intriguing story. My favourite scene was Mr Darcy threatening Mr Collin’s. Laura I really enjoy your stories.
Hi, Liz! I'm glad you enjoyed this fun romp of a story. It's part of "A Very Austen Christmas" (anthology collection), which has both eBook and paperback editions -- but alas, no audiobook. It is enrolled in Kindle Unlimited. www.amazon.com/dp/B07771D2YG
Thanks, mausicute. Benny's specialty is fantasy-adventure. But he loves Jane Austen, and it's been great to see him voicing more and more Austen variations. He has samples of his work on his channel. www.youtube.com/@bennyfifeaudio
Aunt Jane had quite the time getting ODC together. Will Emma and Knightley also get engaged, will Tom Bertram end up with Caroline Bingley? Very inventive adaptation.
Hi, Theresa! Thanks for the encouragement. As far as reading goes, "The Christmas Matchmaker" is part of an anthology collection of stories put together by friends of mine called "A Very Austen Christmas." www.amazon.com/dp/B07771D2YG Because this anthology is enrolled in Kindle Unlimited, Amazon's terms mean that I cannot publish this story as a separate eBook. At this time, I have no plans to publish it as a separate paperback. I am, however, experimenting with "You've got to Kiss the Girl." It too is in an anthology collection ("A Very Austen Romance"), but last week I released it as a paperback to see if Audible will agree to distribute the audio edition. Audible requires an eBook usually, so we'll see. Complicated, isn't it? 😄 The good news is that my audiobooks can be found at most audiobook distributors, including public libraries.
Bingley isn't the only one wanting a nap. This book is keeping me up.
A compliment indeed. Sorry about that!

You are not alone in thinking this, Jay. This story was written for an anthology, so the length had to be shorter, alas.
Darcy, I swear to you, I never wrote this letter ! 😂😅😂 The rainfall, the bridge, and the mumps have conspired together...

I'm so glad you enjoyed this story, mausicute. ❤Bringing in other Austen characters is way too much fun. Thanks for listening and Happy New Year! 🎊
Started this, will come back to it. Wasn't expecting a male narrator and just don't feel it right now.
I know how that can be, Amanda. Ruth Redman will be voicing the next audiobook I'll post here, So This Is Love.
This being narrated by a male does not bother me
Aw, Christine, thanks for the encouragement. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
Thought the narrator was very good by the way.

Found it.
Excellent! I was about to post the link for you. Have a great day!
