Not mine but my sis recently got a cat because the previous owner developed a cat furr allergy after giving birth, she's just so social and curious yet still cautious of her surroundings, she's been a part of my sisters life for almost 2 weeks now and likes sleeping on my sister's bed either next to her or under her blanket with her, she's very cuddly and affectionate. We believe that one of the reasons on why she likes sleeping on the bed next to her is because the previous owner didn't allow her to sleep on the bed or even apparently leave the cat room in general. Her cat tower smells of cat piss and our greatest guess is that they neglected her because of how long they needed to work and rarely ever let her out if the cat room. At least she was well fed

My senior cat liked being under blankets because the cold made his joints hurt more and it kept him warmer, so it’s not always insecurity, and if it wasn’t under blankets it was belly up in front of the heater haha

If your cat is sleeping in a container or in a hidden area it is NOT necessarily because he is afraid. It may just be because the cat finds it a cozy spot.
this is 100% true, my cat sleeps randomly every where he feels comfy the most. Sometimes he'll sleep on the floor all spread out when there's a ton of sound and sometimes he'll sleep in his little home when it's really quiet. Whatever they feel most comfy!

I worked last summer at a camp and there were some cats around. Yeah, that's why I call a bit bs on that. My cats looooove to sleep in cardboard boxes sideways, exposing their bellies, or under a blanket where I am getting pets and cuddles and belly scratches. I think sometimes it's just the right spot to sleep. Sometimes when there's one sock on the floor, they will sleep on that 🤷🏼♀️😂

Yes it needs some time to become comfortable, try to hold him and play with him allot put him on you’re bed pet him make him feel safe if he’s a new kitten he needs that. create a bond between you and the kitty.
My cat loved sleeping all covered but it wasn't like he was scared, he just liked it. He would demand that I would lay down with him otherwise he would fight me for hours and not go to sleep alone. I miss him so muchhhh
