    Thank you for this! Have used this method on a few of plants that were struggling and about to die. Instead of a single (nearly dead) heartleaf philodendron, I now have 8 or 10 healthy-looking leaflets with roots and (in many cases) growth nodes! Super useful and I can't wait to get them planted!

    I root my cuttings in my fish aquarium! There are lots of nutrients in tank water. It also helps that the water is heated. ❤

    Purchased one today reduced in Dobbies. A lovely plant, healthy with new leaves coming. Bargain at half price. 🌿🌼

    It took *8 WEEKS* for your philodron Brasil to grow that much roots! Ooh err! I didn't realise it would be so slow! That's 2 months! That means my 5 x cuttings I got yesterday won't be ready to transfer to soil until April 2023! I was not expecting it to take so long!

      How did the propagation go? 👀👀

    I just pruned my heartleaf and put 5 nodes in water and 1 back in the soil with the mother plant to see which one works better. Hopefully It works and I didn’t just waste 6 nodes and half a vine 🤞🏻

    Was the perlite wet before you put leaf props in it??

    • @SheffieldMadePlants
      @SheffieldMadePlants  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Damp yes. Shouldn't have pooling water at the bottom of the container.

    Did you periodically spray water into your propagation box where your cuttings were placed or did you just spray it the one time?
    Also, did you place the propagation box in a bright/medium/low light area?

    • @SheffieldMadePlants
      @SheffieldMadePlants  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      A spray once in a while to keep the condensation up. Maybe once a week. Keep it in as bright a spot as possible but out of direct sun.

    It doesn’t need Rooting powder

    Why do you cut off and discard the extra stem bit between each node? I've seen some people just leave the whole longer piece on. I'm wondering if there's a benefit.

    • @SheffieldMadePlants
      @SheffieldMadePlants  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It‘s just extra tissue that’s not needed so I cut it off

      @@SheffieldMadePlants thanks for the reply! I watched more videos you did on cutting propagation after this one and answered my own questions, so apologies for not exploring more first. ^^; have a good day, and thanks so much for making these detailed but clear videos, they've been a huge help!

    Will these grow without nodes? Can you plant them if they have aerial roots only?

    • @SheffieldMadePlants
      @SheffieldMadePlants  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Without nodes probably not. Just nodes then possibly

      @@SheffieldMadePlants Ok thank you. I received 2 cuttings in the mail, but they didn't have nodes. All they had were aerial roots🤦🏿‍♂️

    • @SheffieldMadePlants

      Lots of light and patience and getting the plant growing up a support makes big leaves
