My Nitro Hero! This was just epic for me to open this up to see the Thunder Tiger. I love very old vintage rc. This is one of my favorites. These make you truly appreciate the ease and modern designs of the NITRO ENGINE.
There goes my hero, watch him there he goes! 🎶 I just bought a vintage lst 1 off ebay with a OS .32 VG and roto start and losi tuned pipe!! Parts coming. I'm hyped
I still have mine, i got it in fourth grade late 80's. If you leave it idling, the clutchbell bearing will melt. If you jump too hard the dogbones will pop out because the stock shocks tears apart in the threads. 😂 starting it is way easier with a helper managing the throttle, and with the cage on. Then you can hold it on the top. The sound and the smell is so nice. Good memories. Hey, your chain tensioner has slipped off the chain. Hope you run this more. It is almost worth the pain. 😅 Edit: the bumper break like glass if you hit a rock, and the tires are getting rare to find.
Hey my dude, thanks for checking out this video, I also completely agree each Nitro has its own unique feature set and problems as well. I wonder if 40 years from now people will be interested in the modern Arma, I really doubt it lol. I will do a follow up and attempt to use a modern starter box. Let’s hope it works and then we can get a normal running video out of this thing.
If I remover correctly back in the day guys started making make shift bump boxes for nitro rcs. They took the motor mounted it in a make shift box then bumped the car on the spinning wheel. Nice fire up
Lol yes bro!! I guess things were done and just a little bit crazy back in the 80s right this is the type of RC that Mel Gibson would own. I really doubt Mel Gibson would want a modern arrma He seems more like a crazy Nitro guy to me lol.
Holy crap! I think this is my new favorite nitrogang video! That has to be the most vintage nitro I have ever seen run. Good job man! Sorry you burnt your finger but it was totally worth it to hear that thing run!
Yeah dude you totally got it. This was the wild wild West for Nitro RC back in the 80s, they did things a certain way and I got to say it certainly seems to work because it ran quite OK. I will do a follow up and a normal demonstration test drive in the future. Thanks for checking out this video man.
I have the Kyosho Vanning in near mint condition. Go buy a $8 rubber wheel eraser and attach it to a cordless drill with a clutch. It works great! Awesome video sir.
What’s up Jeremy man, thanks for checking out this video. I’m thinking I will attempt to use a modern starter box to fire this up the next time. This way I can avoid the whole starter wheel fiasco as I had in the video.
Wow the struggle was real! I just wonder if your starter wheel was glued properly to the shaft, or if your shaft was a little bit THICKER then maybe you could have got those nitro juices flowing faster! Looking forward to the next video. Your number one fan in 🇩🇪 OFNA SCHNEIDER SCHUMACHER
Epic, well done. Good repairs you proved she wants run and rip again!. I love the design of this thing! If you can, maybe look up the manual for the engine. It might want a bit more oil then modern nitros if your going to run it up, for testing no problem. It almost looks like it has a rc10gt2 clutchbell and flywheel. You could maybe offset that shock engine side with some washers and a longer screw, its so close to clearing. Also look like red cat shocks but they work nicely. Look firward to the next installment.
Cool Nitro, but I think it will be much cooler on display, You need 4 hands to get it running...LOL!!!! Good job making that vintage Nitro great again 💯
Hey my dude! You're certainly correct about that! lol. I will attempt a follow-up video with a modern starter box, it's possible it will work if I have enough clearance to reach the flywheel.
🇺🇸👍👍👍👍👍 A VERY interesting unit,,,,it’s amazing the progress since then…..it’s the main reason I watch all ,,,ALL! your content. you are amazing…..great stuff…..
I LOVE THOSE KNOBBY TIRES so retro they remind me of the Radio Shack Black Phantom I can't wait for you to run this Make sure you don't drive it on pavement to ruin those tires
Hey bro! Yes, good point on those tires, you certainly should avoid pavement, most clips I've seen of these retro models they always drove in Dirt and Sand, almost never on pavement, you're 100% right!
hey my dude!! I'm super happy to hear you're working on one of these, I'd recommend just shoving the redcat earthquake tank in the rear like I did. Pretty much retrofitting some modern tank is your only choice. Plus the redcat tank is pretty large since it was originally used on the .21 Earthquake truck.
Hey dude, I’m happy I was able to bring back some awesome Nitro memories, I can only imagine how great this would’ve been back, then especially at the awesome age of 10. I will attempt to use a starter box in a future video. Let’s see how that goes.
@@hybrid32494 yes.. i was lu ky to have a mom that pushed me to get rc planes cars and boats, i flew my first cessna at 9 y.o, but my first rc car was kyosho optima, after that i had almost every kyosho and tamiya, that thunder tiger i got from my local tel aviv rc shop, i was the only one racing with it🤣
Me roo bro!! H Thanks for checking out this video, I will do a follow up with a proper test drive, and we will run it How it was meant to be run. I wonder if in the future 40 years from now people will be doing vintage Arrma videos?, I highly doubt it.
Hey bro! Yes, same goes for me actually. Lets hope all of us never die just like this nitro!! thanks for checking this out dude, I will attempt to use a starter box in the next video, should make starting it easier.
😂😂Hi, you made me laugh and dream of the 80s.... when I was 14 years old, that car cost 390 in Switzerland in 1988.... and I had to buy everything separately... (remote control, starter accessories, etc.). ... the carburettor adjustment (once mounted) was inaccessible.. A DISASTER!! then during one race and another, you always had to tighten the chain... and to replace the batteries I had to remove all those damn screws... aahh... I should have bought a Kyosho in those days.. they were built. smarter.. but they cost a little more.....
Do you have any extra clutch bell gears that will fit a hpi 4.6 savage x? I'm hurting on money right now just wanted to see if you can help a fellow nitro guy out
Haha, holy #*++%%^! I thought I was the only one who used that kind of starter on my Kyosho Nitro Burns DX 30 years ago!! The wheel would fly off and drive me mad 😡 !! Long live NITRO 🔥
hey my dude! Yes man, these vintage nitros were a totally different breed. I will attempt to fire it up with a modern starter box soon and do a normal road test.

Can't even kill a 40 year old Nitro! Great start up.
No you can't!! Love this hobby

That is awesome! I love everything rc but it's the nitro and complexities of the older rc's that really hooked me on the hobby.

😈😉😅
Hell yeah dude! Gotta love an old chain driven nitro rc car!!! This makes me want to get that old 1970’s sigma ace running today
If I remover correctly back in the day guys started making make shift bump boxes for nitro rcs. They took the motor mounted it in a make shift box then bumped the car on the spinning wheel. Nice fire up
What an awesome RC. Great Job on this one hybrid
That's a Mad Max nitro right there
Lol yes bro!! I guess things were done and just a little bit crazy back in the 80s right this is the type of RC that Mel Gibson would own. I really doubt Mel Gibson would want a modern arrma He seems more like a crazy Nitro guy to me lol.

Go nitro TMAXX 3.3! Trailing arms, chain drive and ladder frame. That is something crazy! Thats nitro!

Looking forward to it! Love the content!
You can run a slide carb. Just remove that bell crank and run a rod straight from the servo to the carb. Very cool find btw!
I have the Kyosho Vanning in near mint condition. Go buy a $8 rubber wheel eraser and attach it to a cordless drill with a clutch. It works great! Awesome video sir.
Sickening!👍
Thsnks my guy!! Lets hope nitros never die!!
@@hybrid32494 Thnk u bro 👍It's up to the Gang to keep it alive, just finished referbing a Vintage Kyosho mantis #nwo 🔥
That thing is sick! We need to get you a new wheel for that starter, it looked very difficult. Loved the video!

That things dope it looks like something from a mad max movie
lol, you got that right bro! Thanks for checking out this video
Sickening beautiful Thunder Tiger!! Man that was not easy to start! Would love to see how will it start in a steeper box
Another great video from the "Nitro King."

I have an '82 AWD Land Jump and a 88 Vanning ... old school nitro cars for the win.
Very Cool !!! Are we going to see it run and drive ???
On those old cars with hand starters, you put it on the left wheels on it's side so you can brace it and not have to fight to hold it steady,
thank you for the great tip man! Really appreciate that, I'll be sure to do that the next time. NitroGang!
Overall impressive. Very cool.

I have this in new in the box and your silverfox shocks are not original and it was a copy of kyosho land jump.
Had a silverfox in the 80s. What a crappy car
