Does anyone remember The GAP fragrances mid-90s? One was "Rain" and another was "Grass". Discontinued for a long time. Wish they'd come back. Nice video. Haven't tried BR fragrances but BR reminded me of The Gap and so there you go. Cheers.
Things were better before 2001 bc they were long lasting and just wonderful. I would not try anything re made nowadays bc alot of the ingredients that made perfumes wonderful are now banned 🚫 from the FDA
Grass (green juice) and Om (amber juice) were my favorites and occasionally I search the internet for a vintage bottle. I remember having Heaven (blue juice) and Dream (purple juice) too. Gris Charnel’s dry down reminds me of Om. Hefty difference in price point though lol.
To anyone who got scared about Dark Cherry and Amber. Its unbelievably good. This guy definitely got a bad batch then, because it smells so damn good. Out of the 9 BR fragrances I currently own, this is one of the top. It has such a strong Cherry and Amber scent and the dry down is soft and sweet without being overly sweet. Its definitely worth the buy.
@Yeaa Mane none of the 9 I own have strong projection once they dry down. But to me, Tobacco and Tonka Bean and Dark Cherry and aamber are by far the strongest and best scents out of them. But I guess everyones skin is different.
I just picked up a 75 ml bottle of Tuberose Overdose and also Vintage Green from Burlington for $20 each! I have a real soft spot for Banana Republic fragrances, because I got Vintage Green last year before I got into this hobby. Since then, I've gotten Vetiver Linen, Neroli Woods, Tobacco and Tonka Bean, Dark Cherry and Amber, Black Walnut Legend, and I got a little bottle of their Modern scent for like ten bucks. Tuberose Overdose is the first Banana Republic scent that I've had, that is feminine. I definitely would wear it myself, and I did spray it a couple times after I got it earlier today. I also got a little 5 ml splash bottle of Versace Bright Crystal Absolu, because I got the regular one for my special lady, and she loved it. Hopefully I will get to see her again. It's not looking promising, since I haven't heard from her in over a week at this point. At least this time she didn't ghost me a week after going to my dad's funeral with me, like she did when she broke my heart the first time. I'm just glad that I didn't actually buy her the engagement ring like I was planning, and I bought her a bunch of fragrances, including Louis Vuitton Attrape-Reves, but I only gave her a little decant of that one. I guess to look on the bright side lol
I own Vintage Green and it’s a great fragrance, especially for the price. I’ve been meaning to check out more from this line since I’ve heard they are a great bang for your buck.
I almost bought dark cherry and amber last week at a Burlington even though I have a strict no more blind buys rule. I’m relieved I didn’t give in and instead left it there.
Its actually one of the better fragrances. I own 5 different BR fragrances and that is my second favorite, right behind Tobacco and Tonka Bean. Its actually in my top 5 out of the 37 different bottles I own. I'm not sure what this guy is talking about with not being able to smell it, but it definitely does smell good.
@jeffersonk296 i find that both of those came of feminine on me. I got comments saying i smelled girly but smelled good. I gave them away to my sister as soon as i got home, lol
I really enjoy this line. Great if you are in a budget, presentation is top notch and some of the fragrances are pretty good. Here are the ones I like: Dark cherry and amber, midnight blue, tobacco and tonka, neroli woods, and linen vetiver. Tried Oud mosaic and I didn’t like it at all, maybe not my style. Metal rain I like but the longevity is atrocious. Haven’t tried vintage green but it’s on my radar. As far as you not liking Dark cherry and amber maybe you got a bad batch, it definitely has a dark cherry (not juicy cherry) note to it. Perfectly unisex with maybe a slight feminine lean. For me at least it has good longevity and decent projection. Maybe get a decant and compare?
I remember years ago buying fragrances from Banana Republic but with the onslaught of so many niche fragrances, I have not revisited them in years. However, a couple of them you mentioned sounded like they would work for me and the price is reasonable.
Hello Sebastián, how are you? Great job as usual. I have several Banana Republic Fragrances Grassland, Metal Rain, Pure white, and Black Walnut (the original). Creed Silver Mountain water (Metal Rain) Stay safe brother.
Mango skin often times has a greenness and bitterness. It has a soft leather texture. The mango tree is also always leaking a bitter milk and the skin sort of echoes that milky bitterness. I'm wondering if any of these qualities are present in the perfume.
Problem with Dark Cherry & Amber is the Dark Cherry lasts about 15 minutes.. then it’s a slightly nutty slightly Ambery scent… Starts to smell almost like PR 1 Million Lucky… Not bad…. Not great… Ok
Its definitely a good fragrance. To me its one of the better ones. The 2 bottles I have had over the last couple years, have smelled fantastic, and I'm sure the unopened box I got will be the same.
Been trying to locate 78 vintage Green, 17 Oud Mosaic and Neroli Woods in my South Eastern region to test or even might blind buy based on your review. Even the Banana Republic outlet did not carry the fragrances. These are extremely hard to come by.
As a whole Banana Republic is a lovely line ... and incredibly inexpensive if you find them at rack stores ($20ish) - ok maybe not the new ones yet. A lot depends on how many fragrances you want and can afford. If you are ok with 10-20 go niche or higher end designer. If you want a much larger collection and bigger variety then these inexpensive gems are a wonderful way to round out a collection and keep it fresh modern and interesting - and they make your more expensive fragrances even more special. Fyi I have 8 Banana Republic fragrances. I do like Dark Cherry and Amber (although it is very sweet and not an everyday wear - probably the least everyday wear out of those I own) and I also like Linen Vetiver which also wasn't on the list.

Nice glasses! Tobacco and Tonka is my favorite BR

The first 15 minutes of grass was 👍great
Yesss, I still think about Lavender Tea! They were so good
They brought Gap Grass back but it's been reformulated.
78 Vintage Green is my favorite warm weather fragrance. I also enjoy Neroli Woods, Rosewood, and 90 Pure White.

It’s very light after the dry down. Does project as I would like. The opening is great tho!

I love 78 Vintage Green! Super fresh! Perfectly unisex IMO ❤
I own Vintage Green and it’s a great fragrance, especially for the price. I’ve been meaning to check out more from this line since I’ve heard they are a great bang for your buck.
I do have Dark Cherry & Amber, I ❤ it, it is mostly wood, to me is like cherry wood, not fruit like, is the combination of the cherry and cedar 😍
I also have Dark Cherry and Amber, but I don't get any of the Woods. But I do get the Cherry.
Just bought Vintage Green, Grasslands, tobacco & tonka today at Burlington! All so good
I almost bought dark cherry and amber last week at a Burlington even though I have a strict no more blind buys rule. I’m relieved I didn’t give in and instead left it there.
I like the Banana Republic line but I also passed on the dark cherry and Amber and I'm glad I did pass on that

@@jeffersonk296 I wore tobacco and tonka bean yesterday
@jeffersonk296 i find that both of those came of feminine on me. I got comments saying i smelled girly but smelled good. I gave them away to my sister as soon as i got home, lol
Neroli Woods is my favorite and then Tobacco and Tonka Bean. Interested in Linen Vetiver .
Great video and I enjoyed it and I'm going to try these fragrances and have a blessed day

Tobacco and tonka best by for.
What a talent you have to make these budget fragrances sound as wonderful as the niche and designer powerhouses 🙌
A good fragrance is a good fragrance
I have been wanting to check out these “newer” BR fragrances, after loving Rosewood (I believe launched in 2006) since its release. Great review.
Thanks for your honest opinion on dark cherry and amber. I was going to get it but sounds like there are many better options in the line.
Just got vintage green and I’m very happy with it…. I’m hoping it has good performance
Regarding Dark chery. You have the wrong bottle. All the others in your list are reminiscent of other perfumes. Dark Cherry is unique. i love it.
Same. It smells very good. One of the best out of the BR fragrances I think.
Tobacco&Tonka and grassland are my favorite
I remember years ago buying fragrances from Banana Republic but with the onslaught of so many niche fragrances, I have not revisited them in years. However, a couple of them you mentioned sounded like they would work for me and the price is reasonable.
Thank you for another great review🌷🌷🌷🌷
How do the Banana Republic scents perform in general, are they longlasting on skin?
No, they are not long lasting at all. Maybe 3 or 4 hours.
Oud Mosiac is my fave
Banana Republic is a great designer fragrance house I think. I mean not groundbreaking just nice. I own three.
there is a green ,juicy fruitiness in mango skin.
Hello Sebastián, how are you? Great job as usual. I have several Banana Republic Fragrances Grassland, Metal Rain, Pure white, and Black Walnut (the original). Creed Silver Mountain water (Metal Rain) Stay safe brother.
I bought Cherry and Amber and didn't like it. Woody notes are strong and had to return it.
"Dark Amber And Cherry" is a good one.
Mango skin often times has a greenness and bitterness. It has a soft leather texture. The mango tree is also always leaking a bitter milk and the skin sort of echoes that milky bitterness. I'm wondering if any of these qualities are present in the perfume.
I'm waiting your new discovery from your latest trip in Europe . I hope you enjoyed
Black Walnut Legend is still my favorite....also 78 Green is so good....
I got Legend a couple weeks ago. To me, it smelled cheap. Like a Dollar Store fragrance. Its like this sharp generic kind of smell.
@@jeffersonk296 🤷🏽♂ that's a first...oh well...to each his own
To me Grassland smells more like Green Irish Tweed in the top note, and Geoffrey Beene Bowling Green at the base, just my nose.
Makes sense both violet leaves! :)
I agree
Is the Cherry and Amber one very sweet to you?
Not at all. I don't even get cherries from me. I'm wondering if it was a fake or factice bottle.
Yessirr 👍🏽 thank you Sébastien
Grassland
Metal Rain
Midnight Hour
Oud Mosaic
I wonder if the mangoskin was a typo by the marketing department. Could they have meant mangosteen possibly? That’s another fruit altogether. 😊
Is there any banara republic fragrance that I can wear all around the year 😁?
I haven't tried any of these but Cypress Cedar would definitely be my favorite.
Problem with Dark Cherry & Amber is the Dark Cherry lasts about 15 minutes.. then it’s a slightly nutty slightly Ambery scent…
Starts to smell almost like PR 1 Million Lucky…
Not bad…. Not great…
Ok
Hi sir, Why Dark Cherry & Amber didn’t make the list ?
I don’t care for it. 🥲
Its definitely a good fragrance. To me its one of the better ones. The 2 bottles I have had over the last couple years, have smelled fantastic, and I'm sure the unopened box I got will be the same.

Try Burlington that is where I got mine.
Burlington is definitely the place for this collection.
Had quite a few Neroli and Vintage Green at my local Burlington a couple days ago. Try Marshalls and there.
Have all except 4,12
🤣The one I have is the one that you do not like 🍒🍒🍒but You are right I use it for layering 🤦♀
Not sure where your sniffer went with it. It definitely has a strong smell.
And before mangoes, rot they do give off a slightly indolic, milky rancid leathery smell ..
First two sound juicy ❤
Hi do you know the date when tom ford re launch of bois morracan
I think it’s out now according to my SA at SF Neimans!

you never show off the bottles, a blink and miss it flash of it only, everytime. No explanation of the bottles at all.
12...? Cool 😎
You got a bad bottle of Dark Cherry and Amber.
Watching Tfs
