Fairy Fail was always bad, a lot of youtube reviewers who reviewed it, dropped it, most didnt drop naruto at 4th great ninja war but they dropped FT early in the game, that isnt normal.
Zypher Sad isn't it. Next week is chapter 520. I hope the series is over by 550-600. If not then it's dragging its feet. There are maybe 5 characters of value that need closure (story wise and/or fight wise) and then we are finished.
It really sucks when a series that you enjoyed goes absolute shit. I liked my little dose of FT, I liked the first few arcs a lot and even though I never thought of FT as great, it was really descend manga, and more importantly really good anime as anime had exceptional soundtrack. Still it kept on getting worse and worse and every new arc was a struggle till eventually I dropped this, it was after first arc after timeskip, in which I saw that the entire series already thrown most of it's logic out of the window. Seems like it was right decision but I sure would much more prefer for FT to continuing being good or at least end before it became absolute trash.
At least Bleach's final arc had some kickass fights like Yhwach vs Yammamoto, Yhwach vs Ichibei, Komamura vs Bambietta or Mayuri vs Pernida. Alvarez Arc has like, one decent fight...maybe two if you're generous.
Its funny because with any other series or maybe any other character in this one that would sound so cool, but taking context into consideration, its just a display on how much of a mary sue Erza is. I like her spirit, but Mashima didn't handle her character well. At this point I'm just enjoying how flashy everything looks and taking notes for my own artwork.

Same, I agree Fairy Tail had a good start but as time went on problems start arriving and repeating itself. Not only that it follows anime tropes of characters to a T and sometimes doesn't even put twist on it or improve some of the tropes like Hero Academia does with its characters. Characters get development but other tunes development is filled with some Bullshit and fights ate carried out with said BS. Not too mention they repeat almost the use Villians in a group and guild as much as Bleach does.

Jun Taiohara Yeah the Villians especially side ones in each guild always almost have the same archetypes compared to the good guys. The odddly looking one, the one with weird powers, looks or both, the hot chicks, one basically barely dressed in clothes, other one a crazy and calm person, the hulking guy with non hulk powers or none at all and the ninja strategist glasses guy or mysterious silent guy, also crazy Natsu rival/clone/equal.

Also For this series its pretty much goes like this: -If your a Member of Fairytail guild = 80% chance of winning every fight, -If your name is Natsu, Gray or Erza = 99.5% chance of winning every fight. IF its a really serious fight then 100% chance. NO matter how strong. This is Pretty much the breakdown of every battle in this series. Seriously they have pretty much rolled over all enemies they faced no matter how much stronger they were suppose to be. All the fights are really just trolling you at this point.
My main problem with the whole battle is Irene, a f*cking magician who can spam AoE attacks and destroy a continent, is engaging CQC with an offensive-type like Erza.
Fairy Tail has every single opportunity to be fucking godlike. It has a cool plot, awesome and unique characters, a fascinating world, and deep character histories. But god damn fucking Hiro Mashima can't help himself, why is he always in such a god damn rush? He can never just let the story play out... everything has to be resolved immediately so we can just move on to whatever is next. We saw from the Gray/Silver confrontation that he is capable of writing a good emotional encounter but there isn't any defending this shitty chapter. I love Fairy Tail so much, why do you keep doing this to us Hiro? God damn it....

Yeah the 180 of her character was so stupid. I enjoyed Irene behind a piece of shot to Erza but this reveal of her love completey destroys how Erza said her situation in life was better thanks to her. Also the part with Wendy's dragon slayer magic, the one that type of magic along with God Slayer magic is useless against Dragons, somehow is able to hurt Irene. HOLY SHIT!!! When Erza defeated Iren I immediately said out loud WHAT!!? HOW!?!? FUCK I NEW IT!!! I predicted she would defeat Irene like this. She wentas you Said Saitama Dragonball Naruto Bleach with that move. Saitama was able to destroy the meteor because he pretty much can and Goku didnt have broken bones but was tired yet because he's a sayain he's able to push past pain in dire needs. Here she's able to move with all bones broken just like she did with the no senses BS.

Nope never lost interest. Fairy tail is my fave anime , ive felt many things with it and it means a lot for me. Really well crafted anime , it had everything, great fights, comedy, it was emotional, great soundtracks, great characters, plot twists and a great story. I just cant find a flaw.

Erza pretty much an anime version is Batman From HISHE. Because she does what ever the fuck she wants no matter how illogical, irrational or just plain stupid and the only explanation they can ever give is "because shes Ezra". I thought it took the cake when she was able to defeat a demon with no senses what so ever and super hurt or when she was able to defeat all her old enemies with just a look but guess not. Also i guess being wounded in this series just means nothing at all huh... its just second to determination and you can go another 10 rounds no matter how hurt. She was hurt before the fight too but still managed to beat the STRONGEST WOMAN in the Fairytail universe and a Freaken METEOR and a fucking DRAGON.... the last two being just with one slash........ I dont know how the fairy tail fan boys can even defend this type of crap. Seriously im not reading this serious just to bash it. I really enjoyed it in the begining and still enjoy some parts of it. i always enjoy the beginning of the arcs of Fairytail and the character designs, humor and abilities but man Hiro just doesnt FUCKING know how to end an arc or fights anymore. He just keeps fucking them up with this constant illogical determination bullshit. Art is good, but what i dislike about Hiro's art is how samey characters look....Wendy, Lucy, Levy, etc....they all have the same god damn face lol. And not just FT, that goes over to his other series. The man can't design an unique character to save his life.
That's actually an aspect i enjoy. It's a fantasy land with fairly stylized people. It only makes sense for architecture and landscape to be stylized as well. It'd be pretty jarring if buildings and such were rendered in hyper realistic style. That works for something like Berserk, because the characters themselves are also drawn in a way more true to life style.
Irene summons the highest ranking meteor magic to vaporize Erza after shattering 95% of her bones, but she still loves Erza soooo much. Not trying to save Erza's ass here. The level of asspulling during the midst of the meteor crashing by Erza is just uuuuuggghhhh
The only good thing about FT now was the art, the way we see Hiro's art evolved & improved from Rave to FT was likeable, I prefer his style now more than I ever was back in the day. Heck, Hiro was a very dedicated mangaka as far as I know. But seriously, what's up with the story?? You can clearly see that Hiro doesn't spend time more on the plot because the way I see he wrote his manga nowaday was very rush, and just to pleased the fans of his characters in the series, oh and don't forget the fanservices!!. Not gonna lie, I see people suddenly hate Erza because of this chapter XDD I'm kinda understand why... Man, I wish Hunter x Hunter just get back already, very starving for a good shounen writing D:
It's a shame, I thought Hiro would've learned. I thought that with the Tartaros Arc, things would start looking a lot better. And sure, maybe because I'm an optimist I always try to see the positives with this series but no, no this arc has just sunk to a new low. It is as I said, a shame. At the very least, this arc looks to be finishing soon. With most of the Spriggan 12 dead or have ceased fighting, it looks like this arc is reaching a conclusion. Now that Irene's magic is nullified and everything is returning to normal, I'm just waiting on Acnologia to fly in and bomb everything and everyone. :D

Either way that was a good plan of her to put DS magic into the sword. I suppose I can forgive the bad guy getting the friendship treatment this time because they are mother and daughter, blood is thicker than water as they say. The proof the Irene loved Erza is there and also in one of the previous chapters where she suffered for all those years in prison but kept Erza safe. Chapter 520 - looks like something big is going to happen with Natsu. Oh I just remembered that Lucy is still naked on top him him, more fan service. And now we just wait for the episode where August reveals that he is Jellal's father and says that he cannot kill his own son.

Okay now I truly say this is a bigger ass pull and some of the biggest BULLSHIT ive seen in my entire life then Future Trunk's Spirit Sword in Super, by a landslide, Erza destroys that meteor AND takes down Dragon Irene, Queen of Dragons my ass and she pulls a 180 and becomes good and commits Seppuku at least 90% of Trunk's bones where NOT broken. Also High School DxD >>> Fairy Tail if you read the DxD novels.

I used to love FT (the old version/before time skip) cause it was very enjoyable and I couldn't wait to see how the characters would grow. But lately??? I'm not loving the series as much as when I started reading it. It's gotten repetitive and cliche. Same, I agree Fairy Tail had a good start but as time went on problems start arriving and repeating itself. Not only that it follows anime tropes of characters to a T and sometimes doesn't even put twist on it or improve some of the tropes like Hero Academia does with its characters. Characters get development but other tunes development is filled with some Bullshit and fights ate carried out with said BS. Not too mention they repeat almost the use Villians in a group and guild as much as Bleach does.

This is Pretty much the breakdown of every battle in this series. Seriously they have pretty much rolled over all enemies they faced no matter how much stronger they were suppose to be. All the fights are really just trolling you at this point.

When Erza defeated Iren I immediately said out loud WHAT!!? HOW!?!? FUCK I NEW IT!!! I predicted she would defeat Irene like this. She wentas you Said Saitama Dragonball Naruto Bleach with that move. Saitama was able to destroy the meteor because he pretty much can and Goku didnt have broken bones but was tired yet because he's a sayain he's able to push past pain in dire needs. Here she's able to move with all bones broken just like she did with the no senses BS.

Fairy Tail was an over hyped magical friendship anime with guilds and wizards and bonding, now I really don't know where it's going, coming from someone like myself watching fairy tail ever since 2012.
Erza pretty much an anime version is Batman From HISHE. Because she does what ever the fuck she wants no matter how illogical, irrational or just plain stupid and the only explanation they can ever give is "because shes Ezra". I thought it took the cake when she was able to defeat a demon with no senses what so ever and super hurt or when she was able to defeat all her old enemies with just a look but guess not. Also i guess being wounded in this series just means nothing at all huh... its just second to determination and you can go another 10 rounds no matter how hurt. She was hurt before the fight too but still managed to beat the STRONGEST WOMAN in the Fairytail universe and a Freaken METEOR and a fucking DRAGON.... the last two being just with one slash........ I dont know how the fairy tail fan boys can even defend this type of crap.

That's actually an aspect i enjoy. It's a fantasy land with fairly stylized people. It only makes sense for architecture and landscape to be stylized as well. It'd be pretty jarring if buildings and such were rendered in hyper realistic style. That works for something like Berserk, because the characters themselves are also drawn in a way more true to life style.

The only good thing about FT now was the art, the way we see Hiro's art evolved & improved from Rave to FT was likeable, I prefer his style now more than I ever was back in the day. Heck, Hiro was a very dedicated mangaka as far as I know.

Yeah. I agree with you chibi because I am in the same boat as you chibi. Fairy tail has went from bad to worst lately, and I just waiting to see how it ends. It is sad because The concept/theme of fairy tail has potential to be a great manga.

I used to love FT (the old version/before time skip) cause it was very enjoyable and I couldn't wait to see how the characters would grow.
But lately??? I'm not loving the series as much as when I started reading it. It's gotten repetitive and cliche. Sure, all action manga have epic battles and likable characters, but FT just doesn't do it justice anymore.
And this is coming from someone who was obsessed with the series.
