John calls this song 'Far Away', but its obviously 'What You Want'. I'm assuming he had just written the song recently before this aired on Australian TV in 2003, then later changed the name to 'What You Want'.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this video because its a great video and one of my favorite songs. - เพลง

I love the whole alternative vibe of this song. Plus the longing for his wife is so evident in his writing. Many singers can write great lyrics full of meaning. Many others can write well written, highly technical, yet melodic songs. Butler is one of the few that can do both.
John Butler has to be the most slept on guitar player of all time. I've probably watched this video several hundred times in the last decade or so
1) We (used to) have one of the most thriving musical economies and 2) The message of bands like these is undeniably most needed in America for the reasons I previously stated.

i can't believe that anyone would even say that john butler is a bad musician. Even if you didn't like his style of music, he is still an extremely talented man. Just take a listen to ocean and you know right off the bat just how gifted he is. Every song he writes is amazing vocally and his guitar playing is even more amazing. John Butler is one great musician if you ask me

i saw JBT in Tucson at Club Congres... a small, intimate venue... it was not only the best concert i've ever been to... it was seriously a life changing experience. simply amazing.
this guy is so great... I saw him live in SF... got the poster signed by him.. (lol.. don't even know why I said that). ... but anyway.. him and his two other buddies put on a great show.. I was right there in the very front the whole time... awesome..

Actually, it's Maton. I spend 80% of my time in a music store, and the letters carved into those BEAUTIFUL guitars are definitely "Maton."
I LOVE Maton guitars. They make such an amazing sound. Not many people notice how different they are to most other guitars, lol!

I think that kind of action is exactly the opposite of the beauty and love you hear in this music. But I can't argue that it's hard to understand how anyone would dislike this. It's not my favorite video of this song, but still great.

I know this song for more than a year, but I have heard it yesterday in a movie called ''I am you'' a drama movie based on a true story. John Butler is also to see in the movie as a street musician. I love this song, but the movie/the true story is so sad...

I agree with the previous comment 100%. Modern music is also part poetry. Beautiful lyrics help to enhance the musical experience as well as to set a mood. The emotion that a musician puts into his piece also helps to influence the creation.

@ottou22 its not about taste, its just about having respect for talent... this man is gifted and wether you like his music or not, everybody should admit that he has a talent beyond the grasp of most others... personally i think ocean is one of his best and the way he plays it is just touching. great man!
