Let’s be real a lot of people are lazy but expect to have the best life. Most people will be average; but the problem is that no one thinks they are average 😂. I live below my means and still have enough money to travel, invest, grow my business, & take care of my kid. Yea it’s a lot of work but I work hard/play hard & a lot of my peers can’t do what I’m doing right now but there are trade offs for everything. YOU CANT HAVE IT ALL.
Yeah your grandfather worked two jobs, but given the fact that he had 13 kids and your grandmother did NOT work, would your grandfather be able to support a family of 13 and a stay at home wife with just 2 jobs working 60 hours a week in today’s economy? The answer is no.
@@3rdJose It ain’t hard to figure out that one income won’t do it, so let me get a second income to supplement. @projekt679 no you don't get it...America is going down and he doesn't even touch on how bad the deficit is in this country..Inflation is making it hard for families out here to survive...
Average is not failing and shouldn't equal struggle. Average is just saying you work as hard as most people who work hard. If everybody was rich then rich would be average. People make money and lose touch. For real they just dont wanna hear people complain for some reason. 😅
Man stop talking about people you used to know, your pops , uncle etc. today is different…you cannot compare these times with today you’re being ridiculous Anton…you out of touch bruh.
@keysounds7289 then obviously u one of the dudes he talking about like his grandfather u aren't average. There's no such thing as an american dream at 40 hours
I suffered through the 2008 crisis just like Anton and subsequently paid off a 925k house on a 6 figure income. What that young man needs to realize is nobody told him what to like. There are items that certain people can afford and others can’t, that’s it. The items that people can’t afford are the most coveted and that is human nature. Yes, inflation is bad when you don’t own any appreciating assets, but it’s great when you do. Learn how to win the game and stop complaining about it.
100 percent agree. We just gotta learn the Financial lingo, and watch how it flocks. I'm trying to get into investments...it overwhelming now cause I'm still new, but I know I will catch on.
An average person can barely afford an average life. If you are working 40 hours you should be able to have the bare necessities: food, shelter, clothes. Its a problem when people can no longer afford that and have to work 2-3 jobs just to maintain. I would hate to be in that situation.
What nobody is really talking about is how digital marketing/content creation is making some people a lot of money, but it adds very little value back into the system, so now you have overinflation in an already inflated market, and many of these people want to live outside the country working remotely which is just another devastating dagger into the system.
My father used to work hard as hell until he was forced to retire in 2015. He Did so much OT and bought a house, never held a second job. But by the time he retired, the house was paid off, and he had been at that job for 30 years. But even he would tell you that he would only be able to do less than half of the things he did if we were in today's economy. The young man has to realize that that hard work will always pay off. But we are living in harder times. 40hrs was supposed to be the norm to survive off of.
I graduated from college in 1986. My wife and I worked hard to save for our first house. We have put our three kids through college and I own 6 homes with no mortgage. Young people are too soft now. They received too many participation trophies. Get off your ass, work hard, save, invest and succeed. Stop the whining.
Too bad houses aren't the same price they was in 1986 let alone the price of everything else and how much jobs pay doesn't help but hey we don't work hard enough
Back in the 80s my family was buying houses in LA for $30k, while working as high school teachers making $46k/year. Those same houses are now over a million and LA teachers on average are making $55k/year.
@@sjc5411 I am not saying houses are the same. The minimum wage was 3.35 then and now it was practically 15. It was harder to get a job then and interest rates were higher in the 80s. You could buy a house for 10k in the 60s. I agree that houses are more expensive relative to income, but you have to hustle more. Opportunities to make money now are greater than ever.
And see that is the problem right there, you have the same access to information as everyone else, you see what is going on, how can you make it seem like the younger generation is not trying hard enough when companies do not want to pay, and laws or policies are being favored for companies like BlackRock. People all over the world, are also being priced out, not just the U.S, people are not having children in places like Japan, do to not being able to afford, and the rich do not want to pay taxes. Plus, you didnt have a 2008 reccession, due to 90s politics, 2 wars, Covid and now us sending money to other countries. Its like migrants coming into this country , and belittling us for not working and not being able to reach the American Dream, when you have our govt, giving them resources, that they denied us, such as debit cards with lots of money, free health care, hotel rooms, food stamps with thousands of dollars on it, so please , be mindful when you talk about us not wanting to work hard, save and invest.
You’re straight spitting facts bro! I’m from The D and at times I think we’re just built different! We’re born to get it however we can working 2-3 jobs at a time. I literally was falling asleep at college after working 16&1/2hours taking 15 credit hours working 113.5 hours/ week and 80 hours at minimum and still managed to make the deans list. If you desire to live a certain lifestyle the opportunity is there you have to take advantage of it!
My father was born in 1924. When I was born, my dad had his own property and home. I'm the last of 6 kids. He only worked 40hrs a week and took care of my mother (his wife) and my siblings and I. My dad never had multiple jobs.
@@Saveahorse82I do. Brother of mine did 6 years in the military, got out, and got a job helping reformed people who was doing time get jobs. He has a house in Miami Gardens. 40 hours a week.
Too many young men, especially young BM want to be average, making average money, afford a nice home, and still get a traditional, feminine, cooperative woman. They resent the fact that possibly their dad and grandfather had this. Those days are long gone fam. Being average is unacceptable nowadays. If youre not in the top 15%, you're SOL. Especially if you're a BM. 🤷🏿♂️
I keep a bald head and trimmed beard, how come so many of these young dudes look so dusty and uncoordinated these days, anr they all look musty and cloned to have the same appearance 😂
The guidance isn't there for most black men. You only have so much time to prepare yourself before responsibility hits. Responsibility waits for no man
This was a L take. Bro go take a serious look at the economy. I literally can tell your out of touch. You 40+ living like the old heads. Y’all don’t have the same problems as the 35 and under. Seriously go look at the average price of a home in a city and the average wage in those cities. This is a government problem.
AD on one account you saying that our politicians are colluding against us, but on the other hand, you are saying that we are lazy and in control of our decline
Yes because both are true. There can be corrupt politicians and a degenerate culture at the same time..both of which are a reason for our decline. Do you disagree?
Facts. He caught the vapors. Life for men is a fight* particularly black boys/men. Especially if you didn't have the silver spoon of inheriting grandparents or relatives wealth in your throat, or parents who wisely invested in your future. In the late 1980's, 1990's and early 2000's the black community was told to embrace what you want, but was never actually told you must develop patience, discipline, fortitude and persistence to stay focus through life struggles as they come to achieve the outcomes you desire. Sadly, too many youth are in major debt before they're 30 years old-including student loan debt because they wanted everything now. The old saying goes like this ; "Never climb a mountain so that others can see you at the top. Rather, climb the mountain to see the world from different perspective from the knowledge and wisdom you gain from climbing the mountain". your life's path becomes clearer and choices are easier because of the experiences you endured. When you decide to stand still and complain, you never win!
I couldn't be a married woman, be a maid to a man, service a man, have babies, and the entire gender thing, and then work all day! That's a huge no. nope
I might be the only one but if you only need 2-3 jobs to feed 13 kids in today the average person would need 4-5 jobs to feed 13 kids. So the point is proven you only need 1 job to feed an average family of 4 people.
Gen Z is extra soft and coddled. They seem to have great difficulty understanding how life works. This guy is sitting in his car, scruffy, talking to his camera and still can’t figure out why he’s not succeeding. I blame social media and a lack of present fathers.
I think the issue is that bsck in the day you can have an average job and afford to have a house/family. An average job these days aint cutting it and most end up having 2-3 jobs nust to get by. People aren't bitching about not being able to have fun, they're complaining about working that much just to stay afloat.
These days you have to work 60 hour weeks and a side hustle just to survive for the bare minimum and if you don't you're homeless the difference is back then you were getting ahead by working more nowadays you cannot outwork how bad the economy is impossible. The people who are blind to this are people who own houses already and are rich.
Wow you be on your studies 😂😂😂 I literally just seen his video a few days ago. Bro speaking facts. Just have a small channel. Thanks for bring light to him🎉

YOUR American dream is whatever you want it to be. Idk why yall are so infatuated with that Homer Simpson, Fred Flinstone life of a naggy wife, funny looking kids and an economy car or minivan
I had to find this out the hard way, had to take a second job and don't regret it. God has blessed me with the incentive to work both my jobs. And to live with in my means.
The american dream is still alive &well here in Detroit. Me myself working a Union job and take care of 9 people owning 2 homes no debt no Mortgage and own investments. At 37 I say this new generation is soft , go out and get it if you want it stop crying
Congratulations, you slipped through the cracks. The vast majority of jobs are not union jobs. Union jobs take care of their employees. If 90% of jobs were union jobs, 90% of people wouldn't be complaining. Just because a small percentage of the system is thriving, doesn't mean the entire system isn't flawed. In the 50s, 60s, & 70s most jobs were unionized, which is why most people were able to achieve the American Dream. Many of the labor unions were busted since the 80s, which is a big factor as to why wages haven't kept up with the price of living for most non-union jobs. We have to take that into consideration.
My dad worked over 70 hrs a week self employed in construction 7 days a week. If there was a death in the immediate family. Funeral in morning, work after.
It’s only cause the black single mother’s raising young black men need to tell these kids to focus on getting their own place don’t move in with a women if you don’t have your own.
Doesn't matter what they tell their sons if they're living the opposite -- letting no-job bums shack up with them and spending dollars on them they should be spending on their kids
i would say most people are struggling with housing. I bought my home 20 yrs ago for 60,000 with an income of about 65000 pr year in a decent quiet neighborhood. thats home is worth over 300,000. These 1st time home owners are faced with homes that are 4&5 times their annual salary. They simply cant afford to live

Stop living above your means, stop believing everything on social media is a real, its not hard people, stop trying to live like reality stars, because there not living in reality!!!!
I know what hearing a comment like that feels like. People wanting to assume you didnt work your ass off to get what you got because they see you living in luxury not knowing you got it out the mud. Not knowing you slept on the floor because you were too tired to take a shower but too dirty to sleep in your bed
They think you can get the American dream without the 10 to 20 years of suffering and living minimal while still grinding. It just don’t work like that. 🤷🏾♂️
My Dad was a music teacher; his side hustle was being a musician, those invisibile musicians in the pit when Gladys and the Pips, to name a few, were on stage. I work extra duties at my school (also a teacher), which translates into 11-12 hr days, and parties on the weekend don't exist.

Bro isn’t wrong about the American dream dying. It used to be that if you could get a job earning 70-100k, then you would be able to live a middle class life with a family. That’s not the case anymore. The only question is what are you gonna do about it? Are you run and cower, or you gonna find a way to go it. I have a job now earning $230k. It’s great, but it’s not as much money as I thought it would be. Instead of complaining I’m in the process of getting more skills/training that will get me a job earning 450k-500k base in a few years. Nobody is gonna give it to you, you gotta go out and get it.
Bro if you can’t live off $230k then move or stop chasing women and buying sh!t to impress them. I made $200k last year and I did everything I wanted to do and didn’t miss any meals.
@@M.J.TheGr8 I didn’t say I couldn’t live off of 230k, I’m saying that the life that 230k provides in 2024 isn’t the same life it could provide you 10-20 years ago when the economy and interest rates were better. Yeah your grandfather worked two jobs, but given the fact that he had 13 kids and your grandmother did NOT work, would your grandfather be able to support a family of 13 and a stay at home wife with just 2 jobs working 60 hours a week in today’s economy? The answer is no.

An average person can barely afford an average life. If you are working 40 hours you should be able to have the bare necessities: food, shelter, clothes. Its a problem when people can no longer afford that and have to work 2-3 jobs just to maintain. I would hate to be in that situation.

I totally agree that's why I'm looking for a 2nd job to begin with because 1 job ain't cutting it these days
These days you have to work 60 hour weeks and a side hustle just to survive for the bare minimum and if you don't you're homeless the difference is back then you were getting ahead by working more nowadays you cannot outwork how bad the economy is impossible.
