Today is October 6th, 2023. I am 38 years old. I just learned, today, right now, that this is an actual song and not a little ditty that was written specifically for a Pizza Hut commercial on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles VHS tape.

Today is May 22nd 2024. I am also 38 years old having the same discovery! Despite all the short term memory loss I inflicted upon myself in the subsequent decade, the movies that I watched obsessively during the 90s are imprinted on my brain. I never played baseball, but this tune will likely stay with me until the end.

LOL, LOL, this could have been my theme song of my life. In high school I was forced to play baseball. I was bad with a capital "B". Like the song I played right field as it had less chance to be needed. One time, and only one time did I have luck that I recall these 52 years later. A star player hit a high fly ball in my direction. I had to pretend I really was trying ,but knew in my heart it was a loss cause. I ran, and ran and put my arm up high to look like I truly believe I had a chance, and BAM! went in my mitt with such force my hand closed around the ball by the force. The team cheered, and talked about my unbelievable catch, WOW, only had one stand out play my whole life, and never came close to such stardom in baseball again.

@@nicholasmuro1742 LOL yes I'm the real WW. I wrote it in '82, I think, but didn't perform it until early '84 (at this same club, the West Bank Downstairs Theate Bar on 42nd St.). So you may have heard me sing it sometime around then. PP&M recorded it in '87.
'86 WAS fun - I'm a Sox fan from Boston, but was living in NYC that year and my second favorite team was the Mets (lived in the city for 12 years). Had season tix in '86 so got to see some of the playoffs live. Painful ending..... :0)
