You don't need the glue and baking soda you can just use a leather repair putty gel you can get on Ebay. It does the job perfectly.

I use acetone to remove the black paint on the mid sole and I sanded out to much and it feels rough. What can I do to make it more smooth ?

Would I be able to use a brush each time for the sealer? Also, how many mins in between each application of sealer/ powder?
I say let it dry fully, then brush it in to blend then another coat until you like it
