Spent a year in a Mr/Hr and I never really found my self ever needing the crawl gear. Didn’t help the few time’s I tried it I found it really awkward to get into 1st from crawl.
Man I have driven a MR for years (skip bin truck) and my HR instructor is making me back down to 2nd gear @20 km to take a corner. It is so slow and frustrating. I keep feeling I am going to stall it at this speed. He makes me take off in first and wont let me skip a gear changing down. The clutch has been adjusted so it engages when your foot is almost right up on the peddle. I feel like im going to fail the test. 😢
that right there is a great way to explain the gear box, and how to practically approach it. Well done.....thanks for making and sharing the video.
I recently gained my HR License, although i passed, i was not taught a lot, i find your vids educational, Thank you.

Can I ask, why does the syncromesh gearbox have taking off in second gear instead of first
because with so many gears you dont need such a low gear to take off unless you have a heavy load or are taking off uphill.
you could take off in 1 if you want but you would be revving high straight away and would have to change up straight away anyway.
Good one. Thanks for sharing.
