Today I give a full tour of my 80’/60’ Barndominium I’ve been working on for over a year now! I’ve finally got almost everything I’ve wanted to do to the property, shop and living area complete. The only thing I didn't see that might be useful is an exterior staircase on the opposite side of the house in case of fire. 2 safe exits are always better than one.

Fantastic job! Your work is such an inspiration to me. I remember my first place in my 20s - adding a garage, completely remodeling the interior, etc. I sold that property and upgraded to what I have now, so yes the sweat equity is so damn valuable and can give a big real estate return. Currently I have a big metal barn like yours as well, but now that I'm in my 30s I've slowed down and got a bit lazy on handyman work projects -- been more of an office / computer dude which brings in the income and haven't yet felt like investing in contractors do anything or do the stuff myself yet.
Your upper barndo layout lengthwise is super smart and unorthodox from what I've seen in barndos. I love how it leads out to the deck which massively increases usable square feet, helps you relax above nature, and have a lot of leisure there. I'm considering doing the same thing myself due to you.
Well anyway, like I said you're an inspiration for me to pick back up. Some people are leaving tips on this and that but most probably haven't accomplished what you have by your age. I guess my one piece of advice to offer for your benefit is to make sure to avoid pollution and estrogenics (check out Estrogeneration) the best you can while you continue to work on all your stuff. I have a mechanic buddy a bit older than me who has lethal cancer now and it's just sad to see that despite all the hard work something like that can whip around and get you as you age a bit down the road. I don't want to scare you but I just want to encourage you to be mindful of VOCs and stuff that ends up in your body.
Anyway x2, that was a bit of a ramble but I'm rooting for you and ridiculously impressed by how much you have accomplished so far. Having an online presence and selling merchandise too just tops it all off.

Holy crap what you build there is amazing and on my garage wall is the exact same thing put your open and box end wrenches, on the wall by scripts everything has been amazing for easily 28 years of my place so I get a kick out of what you’re doing that is priceless. That's an amazing house dude and I really love it it's a bachelor pad for sure definitely could have done more with your closet for sure but I'm not being critical I'm actually saying congratulations you are blessed and you obviously are enjoying the fruits of your labor with something that you put a lot of work into so glad to see that you have something that you can feel good about in a place to call truly your own your own!! Nice work, but the residental building code requires windows in the bedrooms. You don't have a window in the first bedroom or your master bedroom. How did you get a building permit with these obvious oversights?
The part of the video that I didn’t like was the heavy overuse of the word the. The barndo is amazing though. I absolutely love everything about it. Great work.

That bbq is a joke. You need to spend at least a few grand on a nice pit.. considering you are in texas. I recommend LYFETIME BBQ or Big green egg. The real texas way is offset smoker.

It’s the Rawcliffe sofa sectional from Ashley’s furniture! I have the same couch but a tad bit bigger. He got it with the ottoman as well!
How much did the barndo and finishing it cost you? Not furnishings or washer dryer etc. Just bare bones.
