Yes, Dimash is very consciously mixing & merging different genres with Kazakh traditional music. Basically he's his own genre now! For another traditional song with a truly impressive dombra (the two stringed lute) ensemble not to mention Dimash completely transcendent, try Adai +Daididau from the Bastau concert 😁 And there's Qairan Elim of course, with regards to the kobyz which in that video is played by the same musician, now officially a member of Dimash' team. He also plays on Samaltau from Tokyo Jazz Festival. There Dimash also uses mostly this chest tone & it's gorgeous. All these can be found on Dimash own channel. Looking forward to your reactions! Sound producer/arrangeur Erlan Bekchurin who works on many of D's songs. While the original was composed by Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev, the lyrics were written by the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Interesting, isn't it? This is the song he sings each year at the Independence Day Celebration in Kazakhstan but this year he made this amazing video. Dimash sings in his native Kazakh, Elim Menin "My Homeland" every year for Kazakhstans Independence Day (16th December) Celebrations but this year he produced this incredibly powerful video for Elim Menin. Its Ethno Folk Rock, made by Dimash, its never been performed this powerfully, this magnificently, Dimash is a true Kazakh Warrior(Batyr) here and he loves his country so much. The instruments are, Dombra, Kobyz the one like a cello, and a sybyzgy the side blown flute. This is the song he sings each year at the Independence Day Celebration in Kazakhstan but this year he made this amazing video. Dimash sings in his native Kazakh, Elim Menin "My Homeland" every year for Kazakhstans Independence Day (16th December) Celebrations but this year he produced this incredibly powerful video for Elim Menin. Its Ethno Folk Rock, made by Dimash, its never been performed this powerfully, this magnificently, Dimash is a true Kazakh Warrior(Batyr) here and he loves his country so much. He has been decorated before and he was decorated by his country again this year, he richly deserves it. I love this song and I especially love how he performs it. Alga Dimash ❤💙❤💙❤

The 2 string instrument that many are playing is the Dombra - it is an instrument that is in every home in Kazakhstan and most learn to play it. It is considered 'The Soul of Kazakhstan'.

This song was released to celebrate Kazakhstan's independence day and that pride shows through the entire song. Part of what I like is how uplifting and powerful without Dimash using his high register at all! Sung in Kazakh of course.
