  • 14 ounce of sweetened condensed milk. Mix with 14 ounce hot water.
    Then add 2 cups of milk. On a separate bowl, mix 5.3 ounce of vanilla or plain yogurt with 1/2 cup of milk until no lumps. Then combine it with other ingredients. Pour the liquid into the jars. Use the yogurt maker or put them in the oven with the light on for 12-16 hours (the longer the more tart). Remember do not turn on the oven, just turn on the oven light and leave the oven door closed. Leave the yogurt in the fridge to chill before serve. The yogurt will last for 10 days. Enjoy!

    To all the comments below, this is Vietnamese yogurt. It’s different than American yogurt and really delicious! Give it a try or don’t. Nobody needs your unwanted input. She knows what she is doing

    You're supposed to leave the jars in the yogurt maker without the lids. you only put the lids on to store in the fridge.

    “Heavenly Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen

      KeepingUpWithTheTrans Hi, I got my yogurt maker today. I follow your instructions step by step and amazingly the measurements made exactly 7 cups for the yogurt maker. You are sooo precise. Do I leave it in the yogurt maker for the whole 16 hours? Then fridge right? At least how long in the fridge? I am so excited, can't wait until tomorrow for the taste test!

      Hi
      You can leave for 12 to 16 hours. I like to leave mine for 16 hours because I like more tart. Then leave them in the fridge for 4 hours before serving. Good luck!

    I might be wrong but I'm pretty certain you're not supposed to put the lids on while the jars are incubating. I don't know if it changes anything, just going by what the instructions say that came with my yogurt maker.

      SuperFlo8888 she never said it was health yogurt. It’s a type of Vietnamese yogurt that lots of people enjoy. If you don’t like it, then don’t make it. Get over yourself

      Actually this yogurt is more tart with a tiny hint of sweetness . It’s much more healthier than commercial yogurts in the supermarket with already too sweet yogurt then they added lots of fruits jams on top of that. This yogurt has creamy custard texture but light and refreshing in taste.

      хσσхίεs ヅ no just the first batch. I am going to pretend I don’t see all the laughing emoji ok? After the first batch you just save one jar to make endless yogurt and never have to buy any yogurt again. This yogurt is a touch of tartness and sweet but very creamy and light. It’s very refreshing for summertime.

      Use your Instant Pot with the yogurt button for an easy way to make it.

    • @jennienguyen7137
      @jennienguyen7137 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jac Juet I like your humor😄. Use your oven. You can put yogurt jars inside a deep tray with enough of warm water but not boiled to cover half of the jars, don’t spilled water inside the yogurt or it won’t work, put this yogurt tray inside a slightly warmed but off oven ,close door wait for 12 hours. This worked best in hot summer. They said super easy because with yogurt maker it’s more convenient and less steps or babysitting than old fashioned way. Do you have a slow cooker? Filled with warm water, arrange yogurt jars inside, cover lid....etc. The method is different but the ideas are the same. Keep the yogurt at a luke warm temperature in order for the live cultures to grow. The more time in a warm water bath the more sour the yogurt.

    • @jennienguyen7137
      @jennienguyen7137 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It won’t be sweet, it’s actually more sour than any yogurt in supermarket. Use any brands of plain yogurt with live cultures will do, 2% or whole milk make best yogurt. Plain Greek yogurt is too thick and rich. I used plain European style yogurt as a starter in my homemade yogurt. This yogurt is a Vietnamese style, a bit tangy with a hint of sweetness but very light in texture and taste. Creamy and delicious.

    You used yogurt to make yogurt?!😡

    • @soniatrujillo9661
      @soniatrujillo9661 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, that is the starter you will need to make it. You will use 2-3 tbls. You will need a starter yogurt with beneficial bacterias: bulgaricus, Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei and Bifidobacterium. Not all yogurts have them.

    • @jennienguyen7137
      @jennienguyen7137 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes I agreed with Sonia. You need the good bacteria ( live cultures) in yogurt as a starter. Without this you can’t make yogurt. Every time you make yogurt you just save one jar of your homemade yogurt to make more yogurt. If you eat every jar that you made, then you have to start over, buy one 5 ounces yogurt in store and start all over.

      Daisy Rose you need yoghurt cuz its a starter for it making thick

    • @jennienguyen7137
      @jennienguyen7137 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes I agreed with Dave you need to start with yogurt to make more yogurt. It has to have live cultures ( good bacteria) to multiply to create larger quantity of yogurt. Just like you need seeds to plant trees, crops or fruits. Can’t create yogurt out of thin air. Hope this helps.
