Have booked my CBT and waiting to ride my Honda cb125f and I’ve been watching your videos to get hyped and I order the evil eye stickers didn’t realise this was to do with you! Awesome stuff! Thanks so much mate!
My opinion on the cb125f. Best learner bike out there. It is slower than a huge portion of 125s so I get where that statement comes from, in group ride outs I’m regularly at the back. But between 20 - 50mph is where it really shines. Super short first gear you can actually pull away in second it’s that short 😅 but I love it. I’ve got 75mph down hill and it’ll happily cruise at 65mph on the dual carriageways and scream at 70 if you max wrist it. Very comfy on long rides compared to a lot of bikes. Fuel economy is amazing I rarely fill up. I’ve put around 3000 miles on mine in 6 months and truly thrown it around hills, through fords (water mass not cars 😂) only issue I ever had was a snapped chain. And because it’s such a basic analogue set up every issue I have been able to fix myself. The exhaust on mine was so rusty it had a hole in the manifold so I replaced it with a black widow exhaust and kept the baffle in unlike a lot of boy racers 😂 the grunt truly comes out with the Exhaust swap. I’m 6ft 1 and fit perfectly. Can easily do a 3 hour ride with no stops and not feel it. (Though 5 hour ride back from Dorset had my ass contemplating itself) when it’s windy it can throw you about a bit but I’ve sat in heavy rain and strong winds in 70mph dual carriageways and not been thrown into other lanes. The dash is beautiful I love the analogue set up though it is a bit low being a slightly tall guy. It will wheelie don’t ask me how i know 😂 best first bike ever. Rode with r125s and mt125s and whilst I’m always at the back I still keep up.
i had a new 2021 cb125f for a year before i took my test and put over 10k miles on it, often over 200 miles per day & it never missed a beat, and the only thing i needed was to adjust the chain every 800 miles or so and buy a few new tyres. as a guy of the same weight i turned the rear preload up to 4 and found it handled much better, especially down the steep cobble hills we have in my part of the world. i calculated a true MPG gallon figure over all that time and it got 134mpg, pretty great. I was going to sell it when i bought my new bike, but love it so much just can't part with it lol. These bikes are fantastic for beginners and commuters alike, and although pretty gutless up steeper hills, you expect it and learn to live with it. it's had it's services and oil changes and been looked after, & I also found that the engine seems to run much better and sweeter after the 10k miles. I can't recommend them enough myself. WD on passing the test and GL
Decent review, and end of an era. I own the newer CB125F, and can confirm that it does have a clock on the TFT. The speedo is digital, but no rev counter on the newer one. Only other thing I would add to your review is that the petrol tank is around the 11 litre mark, so doesn't take a lot of £ to fill up, as well as getting all those miles out of it.
Aaah mate i see you too are a modeller and biker.....if we were local i reckon wed be pretty good mates....good luck with your big bike mate im stuck on this 2022 cb125f for the moment have purchased a hornet 600 with only 17000 miles on it for when ive passed the big licence....im a lucky lad!
Hey yes I love my model planes! Thanks I am loving my Triumph, totally different to my 125! Bet you cannot wait, I rode a Hornet a lot during my mod 1/2 and it was brilliant. Go get it!
Looking forward to see what your bike upgrade is. I know a lot of people that ended buying the same model they passed their test on… but you’ll get to a stage where you’ll probably settle on a style you prefer… racer, street, tourer or adventure. I have a rebel 1100, which is a fantastic bike, but I also have the new NX500…with full adventure upgrades… and it’s the one I ride the most… it’s a great all round bike. Keep riding and stay safe. 👍
@@TwoWheelsTommy Actually, it's really not a 'Hornet", it's a CB750F (year) twin.... However, I'm sure it's a nice bike. Have a look at the CB900F (919)... just sayin' Well dun.
Nice, I would have liked to have kept it really but selling it made a big difference to me going forward with my new big bike that will be with me soon! Gotta do what you gotta do! Still a bit sad though 😯
Congrats on getting Ur full licence mate, I've got a cbr125r 2007 plate Its not a bad bike for its age but the clocks are awful and wished It had a gear indicator lol
Great video bro, this bike in India is called shine 125 sp , people have taken it to the highest passes of this planet, I've seen delivery riders shine 125s with 150000 kms which run flawlessly . It sort of has a cult following
I have a sp import and mine has done over 32000 miles with no mechanical issues and just recently passed the mot nearly flawless except a scuffed indicator lense when I hit black ice last winter those hondas are bullit proof
Looking forwards to seeing what your next one is. I started on the CB125 in 2007. Then Hornets. 600, a 900, then back to a 600. Now full circle (nearly) I am on the 2024 CB125F for the MPG as a commuter. It does have a clock. 🙂
@@N269 I had an 05 600 in blue. Then an 04 900 also in blue. Then an 07 600 in yellow. Great bikes. The new ones look lovely. But I just need a local commuter now.
They added a clock to the following model 😉 I started on one of those because that's what the riding school had (so I was already familiar with it, no sense in messing up a control & dropping it on the way home from the shop, eh?). What a brilliant minimal package! Sometimes I wish I'd kept her when I got my big bike, perfect for chill rides and (surprisingly enough) off-road stuff. Oh well...
Passed my mod 2 today and am getting a CB650R, can’t wait. One thing, do you do any maintenance yourself like lubricating the chain etc? All the best mate!!!
Congratulations Ryan, feels good doesn't it!? Have fun on your 650R. I did lubricate the chan myself but I only had to do it once or twice as I never rode it in the wet. You will be surprised what you can do yourself 💪
They are great bikes love mine agreed they aren’t the fastest bikes 😂but you can throw it about in the twisties I’ve managed to scrape my footpegs a couple times on corners (not on purpose) covered over 10k miles in less then a year mines just reaching 32k overall and she’s still going strong 💪🏼 smashed a massive ride on the mainland and was comfy the whole time they are definetly great bikes and highly reccomend
agree totally. i did the NC500 as part of a 1500 mile tour of scotland last year in 7 days, and wouldnt have enjoyed it any more on whatever bike i used. I did fit a home made air cushion seat made from an inflatable camping pillow and garden cushion cover (looks much better than it sounds) and the comfort was fantastic, no numb bumb at all. GL
@@harriet_._05 you mean the NC500?, i will list a few things i found out, sure. plan your route to the start and daily mileage on the NC500 in advance, and book accommodation. i used a mixture of youth hostels, backpackers and hotels. if you go 'on spec' and think you will just see how it goes each day you can run into probs from places full or no accommodation at all. I also looked for places where i knew my bike would be safe overnight and not in public car parks or on the street. the last thing you need is the worry. i was so lucky with fantastic weather end may last year, but remember it's scotland lol. I have just got back from a trip round the cairngorms lat week and was like a drowned rat on one day and that's in august take midge repellant and make sure you use it when removing biking gear. i bought smidge. don't do it in holiday season, the number of campervans can be immense, especially on the north coast from Durness to JoG. I think around mid-may will give a good compromise of weather, less midges, and fewer tourists. take opportunities to re-fuel, dont run too low. my 125 was great, but i can see how bigger bikes could run into issues if not careful and leave it too late I made an early start each morning (no later than 6.30) and it paid dividends when going over applecross for example, as i imagine it's a real PIA when busy. my early starts and 125 allowed me to pootle and enjoy the scenery, there's no prizes for speed the west coast is the best part of the route and some roads can be real twisty and narrow so TC any questions just post here, and GL
