Thank you Jimi for educating Kenyans on how and why we should borrow. Jimi is simply telling Kenyans that it's their right to know why, when and and for what for what purpose we borrow! This is information that Kenyans think is meant for privileged few... But that's not the case... It's a right for every Kenyan to know! However I do not see how the concept could be made any simpler short of saying you've been cheated and robbed. He has passed the baton to us who understand to pass it on. He did the hard part. Besides I also think he has succesfully simplified very complex hidden information which took very intelligent, focused, well funded individuals months to unravel. Thumbs up to Jimmy Wanjigi and team for initiating this dialogue. The presentation is however pitched for graduates and scholars. Probably the reason why the dialogue is slow to pick.
The team needs to come up with a simplified version of the same story pitched for common man. That is 3-4 powerpoint slides and 1 min video clips that can be easily shared on social media platforms.
Show only the loan amounts and repayments for development a/c and for appropriation a/c over the period. The details will be filled in as dialogue picks up

Everyone is a debt expert courtesy of our education system. Should read the Budget Policy Statement and check his figures. He hasn't broken down the impact of exchange rate to external debt. Public debt is not appropriated. In addition, borrowing is also for other purposes as per the PFM act. I think we should all read the PFM act

Chinese debt is expensive, it comes with strings mostly kickbacks attached that's why our "pan african" leaders like it, get rich quick scheme. Western debt have moral/regulatory obligations attached as requirement. that where chinese have found a niche.
