Just bought a ~$4,600 Studio G8. It's a nice laptop, the downsides are the bezels are sort of big and from the factory it has an 80w GPU PL and 25w CPU power limit (when the GPU is loaded). I bought the 11850/3070 version. I was able to flash a new GPU Bios for 115w and use Throttlestop to get around 48w sustained (with liquid metal on the CPU). It performs like some of the best gaming laptops with the tweaks and doesn't have obnoxious gamer looks.
Thanks. I just searched what is power consumption difference for CPU any GPU in two models. So there is no point to get Studio with 45 watt processor which limited to 25 watt.
Honestly I use a HP ZBook Fury G7 with an i7-10850H 16GB of Ram and RTX Quadro T2000 max-q design. I am in love with this machine it is an absolute beast of a machine to code on and I am grateful for my company to provide me such a well made machine. This actually surprises me because I have a HP Pavilion Gaming with Ryzen 5 5600H and its build quality is not horrible but its bad on another level if you compare it to the ZBooks. I am more pissed about the thought though, that my old ThinkPad T440p had a better build quality than many new gaming notebooks in the same price range if not more expensive.
Will you please just answer a quick question? Lenovo legion 7i gen 6 or HP Omen 16 2021 and both same specs? Please read rest of message if you have time or just answer that question: Please do Lenovo Legion 7i gen 6 VERSUS HP Omen 16 2021 and both same specs, one I would do is: RTX 3070 I7-11800H 16gb ram 1Tb storage 2560x1600 (of course legion) 2560x1440 (of course omen) Per-key-rgb 165 Hz screens WiFi 6, Windows 11 Home, Ethernet, and thunderbolt four.

Super confusing. At 7:20 in the video. He says the Fury is way better but the graph shows the exact opposite. So which is correct, his words or his graph?
@@kevinkasp if this helps you i ended up buying a new Dell precision 5570 with i9 12900h, 30gb ram, Nvidia a2000 8gb GPU..... I'm very happy with it. only thing is it has limited connector ports i.e. no HDMI and no USB-A so docking station is a must.
This was better but you still have work to to do on reviewing properly. You have dreamcolor and some other features. You are not tuning that unit properly. I had a studio before I traded for Fury and the Dreamcolor was so out of sight that I miss that on my Fury but I love the extra 128GB memory and extra ports.
Since that's the 4k version of the Fury, that has to be the Dream Color option. In which case wow! That is supposed to be *the* screen for colour accurate work, and yet, it has a delta E of 4.15?! That's shocking. Very glad I saw this before buying. Also it would be helpful if you could actually state the panel technology of each (IPS or oled) not just resolution, so those measurements can all be put into context. I'm guessing the studio was the oled, based on being touch & 400nits? Also the volume on both seems low, but you don't state was percentage the volume was set to. What was the volume set to please?
The Dreamcolor display is 400 nits, not 523 nits of brightness (OLED touchscren is 523 nits), so that would be an OLED screen, not the Dreamcolor that the Studio had.
Zbook G5 X360 offered 15 -17 hrs to run on single charge. On reality working only on google chrome it lasts 2.5 - 3hrs max - YES from the very beginning ! This is the problem with all these heavy duty HP laptops ! I would prefer to even have a half kg heavier laptop with a battery that can deliver 6 hrs...but IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN WITH HP ZBOOK !
hello, i am trying to decide a buy laptop. i am not a creator, engineer but i need CPU power and a little GPU power because of the financial trading programs. These programs need H series CPU that have more core for algo trading. But i do not decide a work station or gaming PC . Legion 5 PRo, Dell XPS 15 , HP Zbook G9 or Fury ? can you give an advice? i concern about stability, thermal issues and a little mobility.
all your tests say higher is better in the solidworks test the fury is lower than the studio ?? same with the creo test , reading it it looks as if a 3070 card is trouncing and rtx a5000
At work, we only use notebooks from HP. The failure rate is enormous: bloated batteries, blue screens all the time, miserable battery runtimes, fans that are completely freaking out even in idle mode and right after switching on the device... It's truly no pleasure to work with these devices. And to be clear, I'm not talking about consumer products. The zbook studio G7 me and some colleagues use is pretty much maxed out and costs around 4000 bucks. Just thinking about the fact that we could have gotten the Mac studio with the m1 ultra chip for the same money makes me dizzy. And I am anything but an Apple fanboy. In fact, I hate apple with a passion. But HP has managed to top that.
HP usually replaces each notebook for free with Carepak with a better unit. If you don't know this then you a nitwit!!! Why do you think it costs so much more? It's the support and service. Pull down your comment because you don't know what your talking about.
@@residentxgc At some point we had around 20 notebooks with bloated batteries. HP did repair them all, but it did cost us a lot of time because they didn't have enough spare batteries lying around to fix them all in one try. It took weeks until the last battery was replaced. But yeah, what do I know.
In the office you can work with mains power and take out the battery, which I always do - wouldn't that be a solution - or is that not possible in your case? That are only 2-3 steps.
