These 3 great artists knew Fela and understood what he stood for and all his struggles. Fela's children will be so touched should such is awarded to them for their Father's work. Afterall Fela is being recognised globally, at least via Afro Beat.

Fela Anikulapo Kuti the Abami Eda himself 👍my Dad will play all kinds of Fela’s music while growing up and i enjoyed every bit of his music, Fela is a realist , a story teller who speaks about true life experiences, a man who fought Nigerian Government with music not minding what the consequences could be , an activist to the core . His kind of music can never fade away it’s an evergreen music . I really appreciate he did made his own music which is an original piece of all kinds .

I'm French. Saw him in concert in Paris in 1984.Been listening to Fela's music for 40 years now... and will never stop. It's my background music when I work late at night . Incredible musical figure and Freedom Hero. Risked many time his life. Music incarnate. He surpasses Bod Marley, Stewie Wonder, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, Coltrane and many others brought together. His music makes me feel like I had many lives before this one and that in one of those lives I danced to the sound of this magic music... It gives life to a lot of nostalgic visions but also to visions of hope and of a future in which all human beings cooperate, overcome oppression, and share the world.

There is no simple way to explain Fela's genius - it is an orchestra, it is choral, it is jazz, it is alluring instrumental harmony, it is mesmerising rhythmic energy, it is Afro-beat! It's qualities are unprintable. It is deep in timbre and richness. The more you listen to it the more you discover! This is why it moves the soul! It is Fela! No one else on Earth can do it. He was one of a kind!

The music is different from previous content. Of course, there are recognized influences, therein. The music is ancestral consciousness as transmitted and exhibited by and in the human experience - known as Fela. Is it possible, the artistry of Fela is consistent with expressions of the most ancient ancestors?
This truth warrior often wonders whether there is such a reality as split souls. Perhaps, Fela, Peter Tosh and Lucky Dube are split souls. It is conceivably, Fela, Peter Tosh and Lucky Dube shared DNA of several generations of common ancestors.

Had the privilege to meet Fela in Portland OR in 1991 or 92 & was mesmerized by his warm & calm energy in the green room surrounded by his ladies . He transformed into a beast on stage & looked like a giant in command .Several years later we had the honor to book Femi Kuti & met Seun Kuti at eh Wow Hall , I am blessed to meet him & his children following their dads footsteps.

I travelled from LA to Eugene, OR, just to see FEMI in a crazy concert around 2006....people say he projects half the energy his dad did on stage so, man, if FEMI almost blows up that small place in that 2006 concert (and the dancers...O M G), I cannot imagine what FELA did back in the day.... if I had a time machine, I d use it to see FELA live anywhere in the world....
