I didn't mind Chlöe, Teyana and Victoria. But, I don't know what the hell Marsha was doing. Keke was a funny moment with the song she did, and Coco Jones was nice. Other than that, yeh. Nah. Oh, I think Latto was fun with Yeah, but they only remixed Luda's part. That had nothing to do with Usher. Lol.
I shouldve suggested some ppl. Lol. But, if they wanted to go with just ladies. I could've seen H.E.R., Janelle Monáe, could you imagine if they got Janet Jackson to come out.

Tinashe sung acapella! The rest used loud pre-record feedback to make it sound they are singing live. Tinashe was told the same day of the usher tribute and had hours to prepare lol and she's independent with no label. That girl is wild.

I don’t understand what people are failing to get about the Usher tribute being all female. He has spend his entire life & dedicated his career to singing for women, and it was their turn to sing for him - that was the concept & it made every sense.
It’s that simple…& the ladies were doing renditions of usher, not to trying to sound like him, they did a great job for a live performance. Where they supposed to sound like they are in studio?🥱🥱🙃

You Don't Have To Call is on the STM MTN/Kauai mixtape. As an fan I can't be mad at Jess for not knowing that song but she clearly doesn't get how greatly artistic Gambino made it on that mixtape, he did it his way paying tribute. He did a good job. That's my opinion.

Okay, so artists who are honored at any award ceremony has say on who they want honoring them. Another thing is, has anyone thought that some of the people Usher wanted to perform were 1. Had schedule conflicts 2. Some people aren't cool with him, and 3. Just didn't want to do it?
There could be a plethora of reasons why the tribute went the way it did. Can't solely blame it on BET when the artist who is receiving the tribute has some control.
Btw, Childish Gambino stepped in at the last minute to do the tribute because I think one of the performers was supposed to do it, not him.
And something I nearly forgot, Usher is sort of linked to P. Diddy so who knows what the industry thinks of him and/or seen, i.e. the artists he really wanted.

Don't quote me but I think it was Usher's request to have primarily females for his tribute, and the reason the BIG stars didn't do the tribute is bc it's probably considered a mid to low tier award show to them, so Jess was right.
