    Love the layout with it well defined separated areas. Like the saloon being separate from the other "rooms."

    One of the best floor plans I've seen with the dinette at one end saloon at the other. ;-)

    A beautiful boat. Gorgeous shower, lovely dinette, pristine woodwork & tiling, and spacious fore & aft decks. And, of course - it’s brand new! With the addition of a washer/dryer, it would be extremely appealing.

      "Kitchen"
      We're on a vessel ergo it's a "galley".
      "living room"
      We're on a boat, it's a "salon", although falsely named "saloon" by the canal skippers, who aren't real seafolk. :/

    I love your videos. But, do not understand why Brits go for the bar fridge when any RV or Boat in North America has at least a 3/4 size fridge/freezer on it. And duel fuel, propane or electric. I’ve watched many narrowboat videos where they’re desperate for a Tesco or whatnot. Get a bigger fridge. Otherwise that boat is a dream! 😊🇨🇦 My late father had a “caravan” at 26ft pulled by a 2011 Ford Ranger. And he had more space, lol. But I loooove narrowboats. Just spitballing.

    I would definitely prefer the saloon adjacent to the galley, for social purpose and convenience, but over-all, a beautiful boat. I'm keen to the reverse layout. It's like having a balcony off your bedroom.

    Convert the bed into a Murphy style wall bed. Have it fold down over a sofa and or chairs. This is how my wife and I live in a 50 sq meter apartment. This could improve the layout. When underway and one person at the tiller others would tend to gather at the stern to include the tiller operator in conversation, bring tea & goodies and rotate with the helms person. The saloon area(s) are mostly for entertaining when tied up and not moving.

  • @MrSoapdodger

    such a beautiful boat and i really like the layout as it is, a sofa bed in the saloon and you have a six berth boat, or just a comfy sofa would make the saloon a quiet comfy place to relax in front of the fire and away from the galley, the bathroom is stunning also. now for that elusive lottery win and she would be mine lol

  • @chriscross329

    Layout is a bit odd. I would lay it out as follows from the stern: saloon, dinette, kitchen, bathroom then bedroom. While steering the boat at the stern you are not separated from others sitting in the saloon plus the nice view out the door. Having the bedroom at the bow gives you your own "private" patio as well as views from the bed.

  • @russellesimonetta3835

    Interesting boat. I like the galley first l shaped dining and lounge area best though. Oh and a squared off stern!!

  • @presterjohn71
    @presterjohn71 5 ปีที่แล้ว +34

    I like the workmanship but that layout is going to put off a lot of potential buyers. I really can't see the sense in separating the dining area from the Saloon. They are put together in 95% of boat layouts for a reason.

      Guests would have to walk through Bedroom to get to the Saloon. Wouldn't buy it myself.

    • @EASYTIGER10
      @EASYTIGER10 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd be tempted to swap the bedroom and the saloon and move the wardrobe if it wasn't too big a job. That would give a 9 or 10 foot long saloon which is livable. The overbed cupboard could be the drinks cabinet! Still not ideal though.

    • @m.w.5536
      @m.w.5536 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The advantage is to have the saloon at the bow which maybe makes the well deck a more social space and more light in the saloon. I kind of like this although the walk through bedroom is a bit odd.

    • @seenbyme6696

    • @boatfaceslim9005
      @boatfaceslim9005 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In a narrowboat context a calorifier is the hot water tank often having two or more heating sources. For example my boat has three "coils" (sources) to heat the water: 1. an electric immersion element 2. By running the main engine 3. By running an Eberspacher - a dedicated diesel water heater which also supplies the radiators.

    I would love to know if anyone has ever designed a boat to live on, that could be accessible by a wheelchair? I has always been my dream to buy and live on a narrow boat, I am not in the best of health myself, but my daughter is paralysed from the waist down but is incredible transferring out of her chair. sideways. She is always challenged by steps. Would any narrow boat designer be able to build a wheelchair assessable narrow boat I wonder? Or are narrow boats only made for able bodied people? Her wheelchair is smaller than standard, measuring 14 inches wide across the back plus each wheel which my best guess is 4 and half inches wide so total width is 23 inches approx. I have never been on a narrow boat so have no clue how wide they actually are. Thank you.

      @@rdmsh It's that separated saloon. If I want to eat while I watch a movie or grab a cup of tea I have to travel through the bathroom hallway and the bedroom to get back and forth. between the layout and the rat maze kitchen path it closes the whole boat up. it'll heat terribly due to it as well. having the galley, saloon dinette makes gives the boat a more open feel. There isn't a wall every 2 meters. Some areas you'd have to fight to pass by another person in it. Especially the kitchen where someone is more likely to be in one spot for a while cooking or washing up. That's why U shaped kitchens are so common. I wouldn't want that layout alone, much less with a partner or guests.
