I was wondering about the cream cheese. In the video it looks like sour cream - way too liquid to be cream cheese even if softened I would think? I have never warmed cream cheese in the microwave, would it come out that thin? Thanks for the comment!!

Not sure why she is saying cream cheese when the recipe in the description section says sour cream. Cream cheese wouldn't be that thin. Recipe sounds good though.
I make a similar fruit dessert but I also put in strawberries and blueberries. Condensed milk and chocolate is too rich for me! I use the powder of 1 pack of sugar free vanilla or French vanilla instant pudding mix, stir powder in with fruit and the juices. It is is so good! I love Fugi apples bc they have the perfect balance between sweet and sour. I use can fruit in 100% juice, except the tropical can fruit and the can mangos those usually come in syrup so I get light syrup. I set the light syrup aside and only add it in the mixture of fruit, fruit juice, and pudding powder if it’s too thick. This is a really good dessert without all the guilt. It will cut your calorie and sugar intake by over half!
I make something very similar using canned fruit. I strain the fruit juice into a mixing bowl with pancake mix to make the batter. Butter down sides & bottom of pan, spread out a thin layer of batter, cover with a thick layer of fruit, add layer of batter & top off with fruit sprinkled across. Bake @ 350° for 1/2 hour, and knife check it about every 5 minutes afterwards until knife comes out clean. Use a fork & poke holes across the entire surface, spread 1 1/2 cups of softened butter across the top, bake 5 minutes, spread 2 cups syrup across top & bake for 10 minute, remove from over & let set to cool for 15-20 minutes. Best served warm, but still delicious cold. It’s simple, fairly quick, and makes a wonderful dish for brunch, or cake alternative with ice cream.

Same! I had never met anyone who did that until my sister-in-law came along. It still floors me that anyone would think they're more deserving of that piece than anyone else. Question: It says cream cheese, but looks like heavy whipping cream. Do you know, is HWC called cream cheese outside of the states here?
@@typsy3852 It looks like she has it in a pot heated up while stirring because when she pours it over the fruit, you can see the steam. I believe it is cream cheese that when it cools, it hardens and hold everything together.
Quick question: Where I live, cream cheese comes in a solid brick shape (like butter). Do you melt it first or can you just use it in solid form and melt it down in the recipe?
Thank you for the recipe. I live in Winnipeg, Canada. I want to clarify something. Cream cheese and sour cream are two different things. You mentioned cream cheese in the video but sour cream in the description.
I’m just a bit confused on the video the voice says cream cheese but it doesn’t look like cream cheese (the consistency looks like sour cream) so before I make a mistake I’d like to be sure I’d on both the chocolate covering and the mixture that was heated up in the pan traje cream cheese or sour cream or some other thing. Looks fabulous though. Thank you 🙏
@@robbinhosford9341 yeah me too, because it looks interesting but sadly sour cream, heavy cream, and cream cheese are not the same thing, plus some places in the Middle East and even Mediterranean have this spread that’s white like cream cheese thicker than sour cream but cheesy in taste so it could be that too, but it has different names in different countries 🤷🏻♀️
Hello Southern California here😎 This looks really easy and fun to make. I look forward to making it with the fruit you used AND ALSO as a tropical blend with mango and pineapples😁 Thank you for sharing🤗
This is very confusing. As cream cheese in south Africa are thick. Her cream cheese is liquid. And in the video she says cream cheese but in her instructions she says sour cream. I am reading every one comments and the lady in the video not replying to anyone answer but yet they want us to follow and subscribe.
It IS confusing! You are right! The white stuff poured in the video is definitely NOT cream cheese!) Flowing cream cheese doesn't exist) I wonder why the author is so inattentive making her content. She writes one thing in the text, says another thing in the video, does not correct anything and stays silent for subscribers' questions (((
Looks like she poured it whilst hot as you can see there's steam coming out at 1.27. 😊 Also I think the fruit would soften a bit but if you pour it chilled the fruit should hold its texture.. if that makes any sense aha. 😅
I’ll be making this for sure but without the top chocolate layer because I’m not a fan of anything chocolate. Perfect desert for here in FL. I’ll serve with meringue cookies.
I noticed the steam from the sauce as it was being poured over the fruit. I would think it would need to be cooled first as the hot mixture would cook the fruit.
Love how easy this is 😊. The recipe says to use sourcream but the video says cream cheese. It looks like sour cream though becauce of how pourable it looks 😊. Thank you 😊.

Hi from New Zealand, lovelyrecipe thank you.I want to try it with plums and strawberries.I think you put sour cream to mix with chocolate, does it matter if it’s sour cream or cream cheese? Thanks Michelle.xx
Honestly the thick white ? she POURED did not resemble cream cheese by any means. Cream cheese comes in rectangular blocks weighing 8 oz each unless you get yours from Sams or Costco where they are absolutely huge. So honestly I think using sour cream would work beautifully

Looks runny in video, I believe it's sour cream. Plus, if you think about it mixed with chocolate, some how I feel sour cream would balance/compliment better with the chocolate than cream cheese... even tho I love cream cheese!
The clue is in the other ingredients used. Condensed milk, vanilla, egg yolk. That is the basic recipe for custard. So it has to be heavy cream not cream cheese. Sour cream might work. You gotta try it to know.

Same! I had never met anyone who did that until my sister-in-law came along. It still floors me that anyone would think they're more deserving of that piece than anyone else. Question: It says cream cheese, but looks like heavy whipping cream. Do you know, is HWC called cream cheese outside of the states here?
Thank you for the recipe! Do you use sour cream or cream cheese?
I wondered that too, because they say 'cream cheese,' but it's so thin. The ingredient list does say sour cream though.
@@lina8524 it looks to be melted cream cheese. She must have melted it first to make it easier to mix into the mixture.
@@typsy3852 The ingredient list does say sour cream, so I think she just misspoke.
@@lina8524 maybe you’re right
@@typsy3852 It looks like she has it in a pot heated up while stirring because when she pours it over the fruit, you can see the steam. I believe it is cream cheese that when it cools, it hardens and hold everything together.
Quick question: Where I live, cream cheese comes in a solid brick shape (like butter). Do you melt it first or can you just use it in solid form and melt it down in the recipe?
She uses sour cream but she said it’s cream cheese
From Miami. The desert looks delicious and easy to make! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for the recipe. I live in Winnipeg, Canada. I want to clarify something. Cream cheese and sour cream are two different things. You mentioned cream cheese in the video but sour cream in the description.
Yeah, I’d like clarification on this, too. It does look like an interesting dessert
The consistency appears to be sour cream
What is the need of egg yolk in this recipe?
@@1hz2uv3mh To thicken it
I like the look of this dessert as a Christmas alternative to trifle
Cant imagine having raw egg. Good recipe though.😻
Greetings from Islamabad. 🤗
It's not raw as you are cooking it to thicken it.
I will try to make it... I am from New Orleans Louisiana watching from Houston Tx....
This dessert looks so good! This is one I truely have to make.. Thank you for sharing 😊
youtube.com/@instantbowl
That is so yummy! Greetings from Queensland, Australia. 🌼
Thank you 🙏
My question exactly..sour cream may be called cream cheese in other countries perhaps?
Absolutely would like to know too
It looks like heavy whipping cream.
@@bejoyful 🤔 it would help if they showed the packaging at least. But I’ll wait till I know exactly what it is before making it 😊
@@robbinhosford9341 yeah me too, because it looks interesting but sadly sour cream, heavy cream, and cream cheese are not the same thing, plus some places in the Middle East and even Mediterranean have this spread that’s white like cream cheese thicker than sour cream but cheesy in taste so it could be that too, but it has different names in different countries 🤷🏻♀️
Nam nam looks delicious. Watching from the UK, my favourite fruits are mangoes, grapes, strawberries, cherries, nectarines, apples and bananas.
I made it with a sugar cookie dough crust, fresh peaches and dried cherries, came out really good!
No sugar for me…and cookie dough contains artificial ingredients for those of us who prefer a healthier option
Oh wow, thank you for sharing 😊
Either with or without…it look disgusting for those of us who prefer aesthetics over healthy or sugar free…
Did you use cream cheese or sour cream?
I used cream cheese, and homade sugar cookie dough with stevia as the sweetener. No artificial ingredients.
Hello
Southern California here😎
This looks really easy and fun to make. I look forward to making it with the fruit you used AND ALSO as a tropical blend with mango and pineapples😁
Thank you for sharing🤗
Oooh, mangos and pineapples sounds so delicious. Are you still going to put the chocolate on top🤔

This is very confusing. As cream cheese in south Africa are thick. Her cream cheese is liquid. And in the video she says cream cheese but in her instructions she says sour cream. I am reading every one comments and the lady in the video not replying to anyone answer but yet they want us to follow and subscribe.
Try recipe with whipping cream
Huum here is a TH-cam Karen….
It IS confusing! You are right! The white stuff poured in the video is definitely NOT cream cheese!) Flowing cream cheese doesn't exist) I wonder why the author is so inattentive making her content. She writes one thing in the text, says another thing in the video, does not correct anything and stays silent for subscribers' questions (((
It is sour cream and sweetened condensed milk.
@@kc0rdf Thanks!
Watching from Scotland and can't wait to try this with our delicious plums!
Do you chill the sauce before pouring it over the fruit? Does the warm sauce wilt certain fruits or change their textures?
Looks like she poured it whilst hot as you can see there's steam coming out at 1.27. 😊 Also I think the fruit would soften a bit but if you pour it chilled the fruit should hold its texture.. if that makes any sense aha. 😅
I’ll be making this for sure but without the top chocolate layer because I’m not a fan of anything chocolate. Perfect desert for here in FL. I’ll serve with meringue cookies.
@@carolyncook3611 yeah, I think it will be so delicious without the chocolate 👍🏾
I noticed the steam from the sauce as it was being poured over the fruit. I would think it would need to be cooled first as the hot mixture would cook the fruit.
Hot sauce will definitely change the texture and flavor of bananas.
Will definitely make one for my family, certainly looks so wonderful and yummy, Amazingly Mira here from Philippines :)
Made this fruit dessert for lunch. Just had the first helping. Perfectly delicious 😋
Thank you. Johannesburg South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤
So glad you enjoyed 😊
Thanks for sharing 👍 greetings from Somalia 💐
Love how easy this is 😊. The recipe says to use sourcream but the video says cream cheese. It looks like sour cream though becauce of how pourable it looks 😊. Thank you 😊.
Yes! that's what I was wondering about which cream is it cream cheese, or sour cream Please!!!!
Yes I was wondering the same thing. Recipe calls for sour cream, and it looked like sour cream when she added it. However, she keeps saying sour cream. I would like clarification so I can make it. Thanks
Too bad she doesn't reply to her own videos. I wondered the same thing.
Yes - I had the same question - sour cream or cream cheese???
Your dessert looks yummy. I'm going to try it soon. Thanks for recipe looks very delicious🙏
New desert to add to my list thank you looks delicious 🤤

Looks amazing going to make this, love from England x
Would like to try making this, it looks delicious. In the video it calls for cream cheese and in the written ingredients it calls for sour cream. Can you specify which one is to be used? Thankyou, I will wait to make it, until I'm sure of which to use.
Exactly, that cream cheese looked too runny.
Which is it, cream cheese or sour cream?
It looks like sour cream, idk 🤷♀️
Sour cream 👍🏻
Centurion S.A. hi! Love your recipes, and I it's so easy and delicious. Will definitely try. Thanks for sharing.

I've made something similar tring to imitate something my mother used to make (I just never paid attention to how she made it) I used cream cheese, whipped cream and fruit cocktail. I do put it in a shallow container in the freezer until I'm ready to slice it and place it on a plate with raspberry sauce. Mine turned out pretty good and the raspberry sauce is not only pretty, its delicous!
I remember a similar desert in the 80's. Sounds good, TY
Do you have a recipe
Looks very easy to make n delectable 🙌 wanna try asap
Ty for this super dessert 👍
Try n then tell me the taste
Yes, I would love to try this recipe 😊
Watching from Palestinian 🇵🇸, thank you for the delicious recipe
Hi from New Zealand, lovelyrecipe thank you.I want to try it with plums and strawberries.I think you put sour cream to mix with chocolate, does it matter if it’s sour cream or cream cheese? Thanks Michelle.xx
Honestly the thick white ? she POURED did not resemble cream cheese by any means. Cream cheese comes in rectangular blocks weighing 8 oz each unless you get yours from Sams or Costco where they are absolutely huge. So honestly I think using sour cream would work beautifully
@@His-Joule was thinking the same thing

Looks like it would be sour cream but cream cheese sounds better
Heyyy! That's so cool, I do that same fruit recipe, except when I pour the ingredients I pour them onto a baking dish that I pre-prepare with thin slices of buttered toasted french bread and it's delicious. I hope you try it sometime, and like it. Happy Baking 👍

My favourite fruit is strawberries, im rewatching from Jackson ohio

How do you get the cream cheese into such a liquid state? Do you heat it up in the microwave oven?
Yes, I have the same question.
It’s sour cream, not cream cheese. The recipe in the description says sour cream. I believe it was a mistake in the video.
Really nice to have delicious recipes that does not include nuts. Greeting from Norway
Watching from India, Bangalore city. Fruit salad is one dessert my family loves to have. I find your recipe very interesting. Different from the traditional style of making it with custard powder. Once I get all the ingredients I am going to make it. Thanks!
I am watching from barbados i like grapes and apples and now this

I love fruit and this looks really good! I think it would be good with strawberries too! Yummy 😋 I am watching you from Branson, Missouri
I love strawberries 🍓 I bet strawberries would be delicious in this recipe
Please clarify if the recipe calls for cream cheese or sour cream? Thank you.
Condensed milk, vanilla, egg yolk.are the basic recipe for custard. So it has to be heavy cream not cream cheese.
@FYO PIX TY! That makes sense!
Its looks yummy will have to try this.thanks for sharing your ideas. Love from Tanzania

This recipe looks delicious. On your written recipe in the description it says to use sour cream but in the video it says cream cheese. Can it be either or?
I wondered about that. Sure looks more like sour cream, and maybe a little runny for even that. Please, maker, give us the answer.
@@marilynnjefferson8525 Hmmm....either way, I won't be trying this til we know for sure!
In the recipe on the video it says cream cheese but on the description it says sour cream I am confused can you please clarify I would like to make this 😍
Looks runny in video, I believe it's sour cream. Plus, if you think about it mixed with chocolate, some how I feel sour cream would balance/compliment better with the chocolate than cream cheese... even tho I love cream cheese!
I thought it must be yogurt, it was so smooth
@@ForgiveLikeJesus Looks more like double cream.
I make a similar recipe and use French vanilla yogurt instead of sour cream.
Not a reliable recipe...i m not gonna try
Wow it looks delicious u great I am going to try it something different I am from South Africa thanks for sharring
The clue is in the other ingredients used. Condensed milk, vanilla, egg yolk. That is the basic recipe for custard. So it has to be heavy cream not cream cheese. Sour cream might work. You gotta try it to know.
Yes its a custard.
So do you mean whipping cream for the cream cheese instead please1
Can I use white chocolate instead of the brown chocolate? I like this recipe, it so simple and looks so delicious too. Thank you!
