  • my poor attempt at teaching hair physics lol
    today's lesson is... hair physics (duh)! here i do both x and y hair physics, i think it really makes a model... juicy :D i also show some things i tweaked on my model but i completely forgot to do shadows (again). i think it should be pretty self explanatory though!
    i show 4 different methods of rigging it, but i don't do any skinning !! my techniques are basically skinning though (but with way more work) also we are on live2d cubism 4.2.03 now! the most recent update was just big fixes and minor changes though, so don't worry too much about it. i hope this helps you guys out!!!

    Omg, I can't believe I survived rigging so so many layers of hair. I love the jellyfish effect!! Took me a bit to understand it, but in the end I got it. Thanks for these tutorials!

    I just want to start out by saying thank you so much for going out of your way to make these tutorials! I am someone who learns/understands unusually slow and can't pick up things as quickly as the average person, which can cause someone to take advantage of me pretty easily... So I want to do this on my own, plus I have no money to pay for full fledged rigged models like most others do. 😅 I've watched others do this and could never understand anything no matter how 'simple' they put it in their terms. You get straight to the point and explain as you go which I love since I'm a visual learner aswell (once someone over explains without showing much of what they did I get lost very quickly... ). You made my dream seem more reachable/tangible than before when I thought I'd never reach it. Thank you thank you!! Hope to learn more soon!!💙💜
    P.S. You gained a new subscriber ✌️😋

    I’ve found that while using the free version I’ll use the nice warp method for the front and very visible hair and then the back and kinda hidden hair I’ll try and save my warps lol. Still looks pretty seamless and jiggly tho

    YOUR VIDEOS ARE LITERALLY LIFE SAVING, I just got into rigging to see if I could do it, and with your help it's a breeze! Thank you so much!
    There's only one issue I've been having and couldn't figure out and I'd be super grateful if you or anyone could help: in Modeling > Scene/Blend settings, though I got my model to blink and all, followed the tutorials, etc. when I hit "Random B" to test the movements the eyes blink totally separately and it looks a little ditzy so I can't take preview recordings of the progress so far, but in every video I've seen, yoUrs included, whichever Random animation option was used the eyes stayed blinking in sync just like they do with reset parameters. Is there a way to set it up that even in random preview the eyes stay blinking at the same time, or did I mess something up somewhere I just couldn't figure out what? Regular idle blinking and playing with the parameters is all working fine but this thing has been driving me mad for days 😭😭 Hope what I'm describing here makes sense?
    I'll keep following your videos as I progress on my model! So far it's all been super easy and fun to follow along!
    Edit: Tried to re-reflect the eye, and the preview worked! The blinking was in sync even in the Random scenes, that is until I realized I didn't change the parameters to the other eye opening separately yet - after that the eyes blinked separately in the preview again. I'm not sure if it is an issue, since the goal was to make them able to move separate from each other, but at the same time they seem to be moving together for everyone else in their scene preview, so I'm still not sure if it's an issue and error on my part or a setting I am missing ;_;

    IK I'm kinda late, but I wanna add if you're someone like me who takes advantage of the linear movements dont do the extended interpolation part!!! I took personally took advantage of it to hide parts where the background showed past the hair if that makes any sense, and that didn't work and the background showed after I did extended interpolation. :-)

    Doesn't changing the artmesh e.g. from standard to heavy later, after the XY deformers, change the look of those?
    Bc I noticed before that when I did that, or added manual points, it changes the shape a bit.

    hello, and according to your video tutorials, can you make face turns completely in profile? I'm just getting started. perhaps there are similar functions in the lessons that will help me with this. for example, the transfer of hands to another position or something similar. In general, I want to make the whole body turn to the profile and back

  • @alice_mation
    @alice_mation ปีที่แล้ว

    Im confused, on your head xy video you made the parameters in the angles folder but when moving the head in the physics viewer the head is affected by the input parameters?

    • @chupuko
      @chupuko  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yup! so i'm "inputing" the input and the output are the new parameters i made in the angles folder. so when i input angle x by turning my head the output would be what i rigged on the new angle parameters i made. the new parameters are basically physics parameters and are a dependent variable! i hope that makes more sense??

    • @alice_mation
      @alice_mation ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chupuko So the input parameters are controlling the angle physics parameters but only within the phyiscs window? I know im jumping ahead, but how does this worrkk within something like vtube studio when you select outputs? sorry for more questions! I''ve found your tutorials the easiest to follow☺
