This is what to happened to America. It wasn't Hollywood's fault.. they did their part in framing the issues. It was Clint Eastwwod and his "feeling lucky punk" routine.. that's what we wanted.. and that's what they gave us. Do you think it's a coincidence there's no moral center derived from today's experience? And that trying to do something good gets you called a name? I know you didn't ask for this comment.. but in a way.. we all did asked for it. Except now there is no more "we" that will accept right or wrong. I'm tired. Too tired to do more than watch Bonanza and hope that the nazis or Russians don't show up in an episode. "Remember we're all here, son. If you need us." Yeah.. blame it all on the Hollywood liberal who wrote that. Responsibility with guns, to defend what was universally good.. that was all okay. Guns as an instrument of coercion to get your own way, to get revenge, to project your manhood, to threaten the wife you can't control? Not so much. Ride the tiger? Not me. It always was about the morals that we learned at school AND at home. Now you can't tell anybody's kid that maybe they're doing something wrong.. not even the ones you've watched grow up. Sometimes not even your own. It's all different now and it's NOT BETTER simply because WE don't want it to be. We haven't fought hard enough. Good and evil always existed but now.. when one would think it'd be a fairer fight.. it's actually going the other way. They cut down a lot of trees but Hollywood had Ben Cartwright as the rancher promoting "sustainability" which is now a dirty word. Know it all? No. Just a know too much. Reading books or having real morals shouldn't be this hard. I know who I blame. Going back now to picking up the trash on the grounds around my apartment. A losing cause. The big house? Just a bunch of people with grievances who don't care about anybody else's.

Other people worked hard and didn't have the extreme wealth that the Cartwright's had. How do you explain that? It's also got a lot to do with being at the right place at the right time. Like Ben being there to claim all that land when it was available. If another Ben came along now he could never do what the real Ben did because the opportunity is gone, all that land is already owned. Sure there are other opportunities but less of them.

Now, Little Joe's half-ass 'pal' was there with him when he went to the bank to acquire the $5k loan. Yet he still wouldn't give Joe the credit for acquiring the loan....instead he implied that the loan wouldn't have been granted, if Little Joe wasn't a Cartwright. That was the first sign of envy he displayed, and the 'red eyed monster' continued to show itself there after. As hardworking, decent, and helpful as the Cartwrights are to other people, many of them aren't worth the effort.

Calling him all those names because he thought the truth. A bank manager isn't going to give a loan for a performance bond based on a questionable bid and radical approaches. That is, unless he's a Cartwright. Even if Ben didn't underwite the loan he still had the Cartwright name. The only way you could prove otherwise is if the bank manager knew nothing about that family. But that wasn't the case. Donnovan was absolutely right if it was him who went asking for the loan he'd never have gotten it.

I've always admired the Old West fast gun legends, with Wyatt Earp as my favorite. But I can't seem to find any Bonanza episodes that had some super fast gunfighter as the center of the story. @CathyKitson 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

Really, he wasn't. He's a bit old for a "smack", don't you think? Yeah, he was mischievous, but he always spoke respectfully to his father, even though he was an adult. You have to remember that although Landon was 25 here, Little Joe was 5 years younger, so he'd have been 20. That made him still a minor because 21 was the coming of age in those days. He was only just out of his teens and was obviously going through a bad time, adjusting to adulthood. Instead of punishing him, Ben decided to give him more responsibility, so he'd learn a bit of maturity. But Joe wasn't spoilt, none of them were. In fact, Ben was quite strict with them and always let them know who was boss!

Ben was wise and suspicious about it but Joe was so tired of their ribbing him it made him not think clearly and he took the job under suspicious circumstances and it could have gotten him killed! That's how much their teasing him bothered him.

I was refering to Joe getting so angry 😡and so rude to Adam over a stranger whom he believed a good man but wasnt.. He punched Adam caused of it.
Adam mistrust that stranger and he was so right in his judgement.
I mean would anyone defend a stranger he hardly knew and fought with a brother who ❤him?
It was the writer's fault to made me disliked Joe in that episode.
Viewers knew Adam left the family to go far away cause of this as he was hurt by Joe's such reaction, through his conversation with Ben.
The older brothers teased him etc but I was refering Joe's very rude behaviour (not teasing) esp towards Adam in that particular episode (I couldn't remember the name).
I would be so hurt if my sibling defended someone he or she only knew for a very short time and turned against me as I had different opinion of that person.
Of course in the end, Joe regretted his behaviour to Adam and asked him to return home, after he saw the true colors of the stranger he liked so much.
To me siblings fight and teased one another of course but it wasnt so in that particular episode🙂.
