Same here, I loved the 14/5 to the point of it being my all time favourite tank, the gun on the 14/5 is complete perfection, meanwhile the gun on the UDES 16 was complete garbage when I played it, and rarely hit where I wanted it to, no matter the range, despite having similar handling/accuracy stats (hard and soft) to the 14 5. Going up to the tier 9 was such a disappointment for me considering how good (and fun) the tier 8 is.
Skill you mention interesting topic I’ve been thinking for a while: how about separate video where you discuss which tanks we should stay at T9, and which are worth to grind the T10.
Whats the point of tier 9 if you don't go for tier 10. I mean 9s are useless now you can't do anything with them except to lose credits. Tier 10s can earn you bonds, go in clan wars, advances, ranked etc. and lover tiers like 8 are good in skirmishes and frontline. So there is no really point in keeping tier 9. When you start a grind for certain tree most important is tier 10 bcs that you will end up with and more important are tier 8 and 9 bcs you will play them alot until you reach 10 so line needs to be enjoyable and needs to have good tier x vehicle. So just don't go with french heavies (maybe magazine ones just for fun) but normal ones are not worth it
I played Udes 16 ~ 1 year ago during the previous holiday ops and finished grinding the tier X in less than 50 battles with all the bonuses. I don't remember the gun being this trollish. I had a good time with the tank and also had one truly epic game with 7k+ dmg and lots of kills.

I’m quite enjoying playing the udes 16. I find the armor to be obviously not as good as the 15/16, but not far off. It’s a nice combination between a support medium, and a hull down brawler in my opinion. Overall, for me, the Swedish mediums are fun throughout.
After playing the Udes 14 5, I LOVED the Udes 16. I was so consistent in it, with an average wr of about 67%. I have an overall wr of 49%, so this is super impressive for me. As much as I love the Udes 15/16, I’m only able to get about 51% wr in it, so the Udes 16 will always be special to me. I definitely agree with the poor gun handling. If you’re not fully aimed, you almost definitely not going to hit your target. Same goes for the 15/16 I feel.
Hey, I’ve been playing this line for a while! Excited to see what the King Baboon has to say about it :D Also fellas, I need some advice. Should I sell the tier 9 when I get the tier 10 or no. I’m not a premium player, so I could definitely use the credits, but I’m not sure, it might be worth to keep this vehicle around?
i feel like for my taste i would rather keep the tier 9 cause its gun and armor are more consistent that the tier 10 plus tier 9 can face hug low profile tanks and if they cant pen the turret its gg finito for them while the tier 10 will get penned when face hugging on the hull world_of_tanks_winner if you wanna check stats
@@unknowngamer9316 I played with udes 16 over 200 battles and it can easily penetrated from turret in face hugging situations. Especially high tanks, they pen you like going through the middle of butter with a hot knife.
I didn't mind the UDES 16. In some ways I like it better than the 15/16; it has a smaller cupola, and it's hull is actually auto-bounce, instead of the kaku the 15/16's turret gets bolted onto.
There is another thing they could do for this tank to make it a little better and more playable without even touching the stats - make the hull mechanism work like on the udes 03, as in, when you aim down more than your gun depression and the hull activates, the hull FUCKING STAYS DOWN AFTER YOU AIM UP AGAIN! It takes forever for the hull to aim down on its own and while it does your dispersion blooms and ducks your shots like crazy, not to mention the server lag that can confuse you considerably
My biggest issue with this tank is the clunky change from no hydro depression to hyrdo assisted depression, it just eats up extra time to get on target. The gun doesn't snap shot very well either.

This was the first line I grinded to tier 10 (because Sabaton crew :)) And I had a blast whilst doing it. I think both the Udes 15 and 15/16 are great tanks, but bit harder to play than some other mediums.
I like the swedish tanks I've played, but it looks like this might be quite painful to get through the tier9 to 10. Thanks Skill - I'm one of those that asked for more Udes and here it is!
Tbh for me it has not been. I think that the UDES 16, while not the top dog against things like obj 430, Patton, Leo PTA, is still a decent tank. At least not too painful to play, because it fits the roll of support/hull down brawler very well. You saw on the video, even if the gun is not the best, you can rack up blocked damage very easily, it certainly has a good hull down capability
This is a great tank in my opinion. Udes 15/16 is a very enjoyable tank to play as well.. better then stb in my opinion and can get many troll bounces on hull. Would recommend this line for hull down lovers 100% :)
Udes 16, have not played it since I finished grinding the T10. Only good part of grinding that line was the T7 Leo with the big gun. Never purchased the T10, I may buy it when it is top of the tree.
In my opinion this tank is an amazing tank, when i used the ridges they couldnt even hit me because i was nearly visible and its almost like the tier 10 just without sidescraping
I'd like to see you play the tier ten with different builds. I've been experimenting with it in different ways and I find it a very frustrating tank to play. The gun handling still seems to be a problem, and pen with standards is often an issue for me. I'd like to see Skill's experience.
Actually quite surprised, usually I completely agree with you, but somehow this tank was one of my best tanks. Maybe just playstyle difference? I loved being able to brawl and troll people with the armour. No doubt the 10 is much better though
I personally don't mind the not so good gun handling that much, because it has turret armor, so if I position myself correctly in hull down then I have time to fully aim.
His credits and free xp are the same before and after the cut so doesn’t look like there was another battle after the second one (could have been an earlier one tho)

The meta is getting heavier and heavier again I noticed, supported only by EBRs and Swedish TDs/Leo1s. It's very hard to find a place for slower, 'ok' mediums that like to be passive.
You got super unlucky with your shots there skill. The gun is a bit of a pain and does troll you quite a bit but that second game is definitely on the far end of the spectrum. Overall I enjoyed the whole line, the tier 8 was particularly good, and the tier 10 is well worth it. Probably my second favorite medium line after the Italian line. If you're contemplating going up this line don't let this put you off, I promise it's worth it!
For me personally, this line is like almost every line in the game, with the tier 9 far superior to the tier 10. But, that's just me. I'm not remotely in the same zip code -- skill-wise -- with skill4ltu, so playing tier 10 solo (which is all I do!) is extremely painful. Tier 9 generally is my favorite tier. And that is just as true, for me, in this line...

Hi Skill! Love your videos. I actually prefer the UDES 16 to the UDES 15/16. I find that the UDES 16 has a much wider area of bounce, whereas the UDES 15/16's frontal plate is too big to hide easily. Whereas I surf ridgelines with both, the bounce rate on the Tier X isn't great for me. The Tier X definitely has the better gun. I also noticed that the Tier IX is easier because of the crazy HEAT spam at Tier X. What do you think? Does the current playerbase spam too much HEAT to use ricochet-style armor?
Clearly you should change rammer for improved turning. Rarely do you shoot next shot right after first. But accuracy and effective dpm could improve by that change.
I played this tank recently, very good tank for me. I feel PTA is not much better after nerf. I feel you can be more aggresive in this tank and play faster
I play this tank like my Swedish STRV S1, unlike a med tank, which is hide, shoot and run. It has better armor and runs faster than the S1, but gun handling and camo are weaker. I have vents, faster reload and aiming modules. I like the Tier 8 UDES 14/5 better as it has better gun handling but weaker armor lower pen.
if enemies shoot HE you are crying since they can mostly pen 40-50% damage on HE shells so large cailbers will hit you for 500-600 also the UDES15/16 turret can sometimes be trollishly penned by higher cailbers
Havent spent much time in tier 10 yet but i like it, tho i do miss the amount of shells the tier 9 can bounce off . Fun to face hug some tanks when they dont know where to shoot you
I have played WoT for more than a year now and UDES 15/16 was my first T10 tank. But Skill! I actually enjoyed T9 UDES 16 much more! I don't know if the answer is simple = T10 players are overall better and that is why my UDES 15/16 results are a big pile of kaku. With my second T10 tank - 60 TP are my results much better so I don't have a reasonable explanation why I like T9 UDES more than his T10 brother. Love you Skill
The tier 8 was much better than the 9 and 10 for me. I like playing all 3 though. Seems like the tier 9 plays a bit easier than the 10 though. The guns on both are very trollish though.
Honestly I have the same experience - trying to take important positions and then it goes horribly in Leo PTA. Lots of ppl complaining when ppl are sitting in the back with it but I just think f*** that and stay where I am. When I get slaughtered 3 times in a row because "teammates" decide to just leave me there especially heavies who instead of going in front when its clear decided to park it 150m behind me and do nothing I just get tired of it and rather play it super safe.
Thx for the Video skill. I not only dislike the poor gun handling, I also don’t quite like the gold penetration and the speed, compared to tier 8. added to that, dpm ist also not the best. I don’t know, im struggling with this tank and have the lowest avg on it compared to the other tier 9 meds.

udes 16 is balanced for its tier but in my opinion most tier 9s are strong for there tier so this is no exception the tier 10 wasnt much of an increase and lost a few important parameters to gain some armor which btw doesnt work as good as the tier 9 which had less armor one of wgs amazing features lol
My experience is exactly the opposite: I am going bunkers at least every third shot I take in the tier 10! Paper starts and reality of these guns is like day and night. But so far the tier 9 treated me way way better than the tier 10!
I'm griding this line. Being honest, after 34 battles at this moment, I like this tank, but the standard penetration and gun handling are painful, especially when you need to fight against heavies. Use tier 8 to trying to figure out how suspension mechanics works, if you understand this first, you will see the main role and how it works: support tank. The tank is perfect for any hulldown situation and have a good camo and decent range, in the right bush and map, you can be a spotter sometimes. In a nutshell, it's an ok tank, but very hard to play. For equipment, I'm using the same of Skill, of course not the same score, but 55,88% victories for me it's a good signal I'm doing the things right. Just my experience and opinion about this. Jeffs just love hitting UDES 16. I once hit UDES 16 for arount 1150 HP with one shot from my M53/M55. UDES 16 was not that bad when I played it. It's armour penentration is just not very good for Tier 9.
I have Udes 16 and Emill II, both tanks are just forcing you to go to tier 10. No sweet spot tier 9 here. I'd say that Skoda is better tier 9 sweet spot. You do get good 5k dmg games with tier 9 Swedes, but I just don't think it's worth it (though I haven't bought those tier 10s yet).
I think best thing about this tank is that is can do quite well on stock ;-P. It dings quite often. I think quite a good tank, though is not perfect for gangbang-ultra-quick battles...
Tier 8 amazing Tier 9 could have a bit better gun handling but its still very very good in my opinion. And it has quite strong hull armour. Tier 10 very good but to be honest, comparing it to stb1 it could have better hull armour so tiers 8 wouldn't penetrate you that easily when you are not completly hulldown :)

"Modified configuration" instead of "Ventilation" is a very good solution for this tank.
I just love when skeeeeell is saying we have big advantage at 8 to 10! THAT'S a baboon! THAT'S a leader!

Oh, and the speed of the tier ten seems just a bit slow, which is why I tried it a few times with the turbo.

I play this tank like my Swedish STRV S1, unlike a med tank, which is hide, shoot and run. It has better armor and runs faster than the S1, but gun handling and camo are weaker. I have vents, faster reload and aiming modules. I like the Tier 8 UDES 14/5 better as it has better gun handling but weaker armor lower pen.

UDES16 gun handling is derpy AF, however it's got lovely armor. T10 definitely the highlight.

I can be only positive about udes line. I have udes 15/16 and recently got second mark. Its awesome tank for me
if enemies shoot HE you are crying since they can mostly pen 40-50% damage on HE shells so large cailbers will hit you for 500-600 also the UDES15/16 turret can sometimes be trollishly penned by higher cailbers
Havent spent much time in tier 10 yet but i like it, tho i do miss the amount of shells the tier 9 can bounce off . Fun to face hug some tanks when they dont know where to shoot you
I have played WoT for more than a year now and UDES 15/16 was my first T10 tank. But Skill! I actually enjoyed T9 UDES 16 much more! I don't know if the answer is simple = T10 players are overall better and that is why my UDES 15/16 results are a big pile of kaku. With my second T10 tank - 60 TP are my results much better so I don't have a reasonable explanation why I like T9 UDES more than his T10 brother. Love you Skill
i dont know why but i really liked the udes. for me the gunhandeling was not that bad and the armor with gun depression was also good.
I fixed gun by using that increased accuracy module instead of stabilizer. Its just that tiny touch it needed, at least for me.
What does the siege mode affect in the mediums??
It gives the tank more gun depression when activated by moving very slowly. I don't know the exact numbers though.
personally i much prefer the tier 9 over the tier 10. i find that the tier 9 armor is much easier to use than tier 10
The tier 8 was much better than the 9 and 10 for me. I like playing all 3 though. Seems like the tier 9 plays a bit easier than the 10 though. The guns on both are very trollish though.
Honestly I have the same experience - trying to take important positions and then it goes horribly in Leo PTA. Lots of ppl complaining when ppl are sitting in the back with it but I just think f*** that and stay where I am. When I get slaughtered 3 times in a row because "teammates" decide to just leave me there especially heavies who instead of going in front when its clear decided to park it 150m behind me and do nothing I just get tired of it and rather play it super safe.

Thx for the Video skill. I not only dislike the poor gun handling, I also don’t quite like the gold penetration and the speed, compared to tier 8. added to that, dpm ist also not the best. I don’t know, im struggling with this tank and have the lowest avg on it compared to the other tier 9 meds.

@@Flash4ML but you can see a cut in the video after the second game, also the tank wasn't in the garage. So it makes me assume he had a third game but it was so bad that he cut it.

udes 16 is balanced for its tier but in my opinion most tier 9s are strong for there tier so this is no exception the tier 10 wasnt much of an increase and lost a few important parameters to gain some armor which btw doesnt work as good as the tier 9 which had less armor one of wgs amazing features lol

My experience is exactly the opposite: I am going bunkers at least every third shot I take in the tier 10!
Paper starts and reality of these guns is like day and night. But so far the tier 9 treated me way way better than the tier 10!

I love T8, but I strugle with T9, the worst thing if you are stock you cannot put 3 eq, unless you have ~25k spare free exp
I'm griding this line. Being honest, after 34 battles at this moment, I like this tank, but the standard penetration and gun handling are painful, especially when you need to fight against heavies. Use tier 8 to trying to figure out how suspension mechanics works, if you understand this first, you will see the main role and how it works: support tank. The tank is perfect for any hulldown situation and have a good camo and decent range, in the right bush and map, you can be a spotter sometimes. In a nutshell, it's an ok tank, but very hard to play. For equipment, I'm using the same of Skill, of course not the same score, but 55,88% victories for me it's a good signal I'm doing the things right. Just my experience and opinion about this. Jeffs just love hitting UDES 16. I once hit UDES 16 for arount 1150 HP with one shot from my M53/M55. UDES 16 was not that bad when I played it. It's armour penentration is just not very good for Tier 9.
I have Udes 16 and Emill II, both tanks are just forcing you to go to tier 10. No sweet spot tier 9 here. I'd say that Skoda is better tier 9 sweet spot. You do get good 5k dmg games with tier 9 Swedes, but I just don't think it's worth it (though I haven't bought those tier 10s yet).

I think best thing about this tank is that is can do quite well on stock ;-P. It dings quite often. I think quite a good tank, though is not perfect for gangbang-ultra-quick battles...

I like Udes 16, but unfortunately, whenever you are meeting people shooting heat ammo you don't have armor whatsoever.
I think it's balanced whish more tanks would be like this one. With strengths and actual weaknesses

swedish tier 10 is one of the best medium. for me best tier 10 is leopard 1 and on top 2 is udes 15/16

Leo PTA has good gun handling? Mine behaves like this Udes here... I know people praise PTA, but obviously, I got a broken one.

Tier 9 could have a bit better gun handling but its still very very good in my opinion. And it has quite strong hull armour.
Tier 10 very good but to be honest, comparing it to stb1 it could have better hull armour so tiers 8 wouldn't penetrate you that easily when you are not completly hulldown :)
