  • It's not every day I get to walk across a country, however walking the Rail Corridor Trail in Singapore today pretty much saw me crossing the whole country in about eight hours. My walk started down near the Singapore Strait and finished up near the Malaysian border and while it wasn't exactly the most action packed walk that I've ever done it was still worth braving the humidity for. As the name implies the trail follows an old rail corridor so the gradient is fairly gentle for the whole length which allows the kilometres to come easy... you do need to concentrate a bit where the trail detours due to on going construction though.

I think this trail is still a bit of a work in progress… the middle section is pretty well finished, however the southern and northern thirds look like the Singaporean’s are still working on them… it’s a bit of a novelty to walk across a country in a day😉👍

Have to give Singapore top points for being a clean and green city .
No way would those underpasses look like that in Australia.. it would be full of graffiti, tags, broken glass and trash
Top job in handling the Singapore heat and humidity 👍🥾

Cheers John. Yes, Singapore does a great job keeping the environment clean and there is bugger all graffiti or litter compared to Australia… and yes, it was a solid length walk in the humidity 🥵
