    Always a pleasure to Walkabout in your garden. You are so dang hilarious with the "erect" euphorbia!! LOL Then the pot on the table is a "hot mess of a nothing burger!!" 🤣 😂
    Your garden looks great. Thanks for the beauty and the laughs Laura!

    Everyone is a critic, how condescending some of your viewers are. I’m like your silly groupie, I see everything you do as perfect. I love your dedication and the fact that I can look forward to your video while lying in bed at the end of each day. You know I am 75, and right now after several days of working in my garden, my hands are almost paralyzed with pain, arthritis. And it dawned on me today, that I might not be able to do all this at sometime in the future. Of course I do stupid things like caring huge bags of garden soil which plays havoc on my back. But I won’t give up easily, when I’m not strong enough to work in the garden, I’m making trips to the nursery.
    Don’t worry about repeating yourself, I often learn new things that I have overlooked in other videos, so keep repeating yourself, some of us have foggy brains that need to hear it a few times. I often hear your voice in my head while I am working in the garden, and I remember something that’s very useful that you said.
    Laura, I’m hoping that someday you will get a job in Las Vegas and you will make the trip, because I know you would be so appreciated here.The logistics may be tricky, but I’m sure you could find a very capable crew here. Or even better, bring your entire crew because everyone loves to come to Vegas!

    Omg it’s always the citrus trees 😭🤣 so cool but sometimes they don’t do great in pots.. A few months ago I just let my potted lemon tree go because it was struggling for months, and I planted a palm instead. What a great decision, I’m so much happier with the pot now!!

    Hi Laura I had a grapefruit tree in a similar situation for years. A old neighbor of mine that grew up in a farm told me to scare and hit the tree on the lowest part of the bark to tear some skin off just enough to stimulate it. And guess what IT WORKED. Not only it started to grow but it actually gave me fruit too! Good luck

    My potted Meyer lemon looked that bad or worse. i worked on it for years because everyone says you can have citrus in pots. Finally I plunked the sad old thing in the ground and it took off!. This is about it's 5th year in the ground and I had to drop at least half the unripe fruit last fall because the tree could not support the weight of all of it. Still got a couple hundred large lemons off the old girl this year. My theory is that in SoCal, the tree doesn't like the big temperature swings that happen to the root ball when its in a pot compared to the ground.

  • @77sun222
    @77sun222 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Laura
    Have you tried COMPLETELY removing the lemon tree from the pot? You may find the roots are too compact now and that the soil is cloggy. If you trim the excess roots then it may stand a chance next year. Why not give it a try now😢😘

  • @Unpotted

    Suggestions for the back deck project: how about some colorful Kangaroo Paw, which should be available in full bloom right about now? Grassy-looking during Summer, I know, but still lush, and beautiful Winter flowers. The interest level can be increased with adjacent soft Stapeliads as long as they’re far enough away from the doors and windows for the breeze to waft away the flower odor. 😸✌️

    The bottle shaped caudiciform with the cute little red-orange flowers is a Jatropha podagrica in the plant family Euphorbiaceae. Mine continually bloomed all through the winter, but the leaves didn’t get very big. Now that it’s warmer, the newer leaves are much larger & greener!

    More water for the lemon tree ? Our fruit trees in New York really appreciate water but they don’t dry out if they’re under watered like You might expect . So they don’t actually ask for more water but they do give more fruit when they’re heavily watered.

    Not sure if you’ve had this suggestion for the lemon tree before, but I’ve heard they benefit from being pee’d on 🤭 The acidity, nitrogen, phosphorus & potassium in human pee are good for citrus apparently. First one of the day, as it’s more concentrated 😁
