Thanks Robert! Glad you liked the video! It does have some cool features from the factory. Back when these cars were built the companies took alot of pride in what they sold. True craftsmanship and pride! Have a good one👍
Don, I love it when you do walk around videos of your cars. I just watch these videos smiling non stop, have loved old Chevy's since I was a kid. She sure sounds good sitting there idling, best to you friend 👍
Thanks Brian! Yeah there cool old cars and Yup the old 327 in pretty dang happy in that car. Very fun to just cruise around in. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Hi Don , sure looks really nice . Did not see it has "Blue Dots" in the tail lights till now . Looks right , sounds right ... couldn't ask for more ! Last weekend was great weather . Now they are talking rain turning to snow starting Wednesday .
Thanks man! Yeah you gotta love the old blue dot tail lights. Back in the 50s and 60s they made all the cool stuff. Nowadays its all about the gadgets on the cars. Nothing cool or with any style. Yeah the rain is suppose to hit us later this week. Have to take the good and the bad I guess. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Thanks man! Its a cool old car! It needs alot pf work but to me its perfect just how it sets. Reminds me of something my dad would have brought home when I was young. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Don the 55 nomad looks good glad to hear that is a good driver too. one of my 59 impalas had both one piece bumpers front and rear they were a california and canada thing . i sent you a link for the missing 57 short right side quarter molding . and auction sniper , a very handy thing to have if you use ebay much . have a great day .
Thanks Jim! I got your email I just didn't get a chance to respond back to you! I contacted the seller about the trim piece! I've heard about the sniper auction, how to do you get it or where do you get it? Also I've noticed alot of Canada cars have the one piece bumper. Them 59 one piece bumpers have to be pretty hard to dig up! Have a good one✌
Thanks Richard! I'm not going to change much on this car. It reminds me of cars my dad would bring home when I was young. I kinda like it just how it is. Have a good one man 👍
Don!!! Its Ray again!! I enjoyed looking at your NOMAD in the driveway! I hope you can do the same sometime for the gasser 55 NOMAD, I would love to look around that one! Its the most bad A one you have!!! Now in this video, I can't believe you're from Ohio seeing the plates on the NOMAD!!!!! I have been living in greater Cleveland for 57 years, as I'm commenting you right now I'm living in SLC, how I missed you by a hair!!! What part of Ohio do you live in????
Hey Raymond! That is cool your right up in Cleveland! I live just about 10 minutes east of Columbus. I have a few of the 55 gasser Videos on my channel. But I can certainly pull it out and do another on the old car. It's a vintage gasser that they built sometime in the 60s. Still has the engine and trans that they raced in it many years ago. I found it in a chicken coup in Monroe Michigan in spring of 2017. Have a good one Buddy 👍
All of us guys, that are real true hot rodders could never have a garage big enough. Beause we would just keep filling it up with more cars an parts even if don't need them or not. It's a guy thing, that really true hot rodders do. I have 2-(30x40) garages an 8 hot rods an No, I don't have enough room. Great video an super, super tri-fives you have. They are truly beautiful rides. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. 🦃🥧😁👍👍
Hey Richard thats the truth! We will always find more stuff to put in it. A true Hot Rodder will never have a big enough garage. Have a good Thanksgiving as well man! I'll talk to you later buddy!✌
Hey Ed! That is news to me! I didn't know golden start was making the eyebrows. I'll check that out, hopefully I'll start finding alot of the original stuff now in the future. A $500 Nomad man them was the days! Have a good one Buddy
Yep the old 55 just had the look. Even better with Nomad rear. Sounds great. Is this the next one to be stripped and red leaded. Lol. Nice set up Brother. You ever seen a Nomad called Showmad. Was at Sema in 2016. House of Colours car. 57 with a cool chop. Not quite my style but fine workmanship. But I like the chop. Ole DD says he's parting out the delivery. The Man's not thinking should have put a chop on it. Chopped delivery. That's Something. Have a good one Brother. Keep it out the Ditches and in the. Lol. Adios Amigo.
Hey Don, The ole 327 sounds great. I really miss the ole small blocks. They are like an ole Harley, when you know them, there isn't any other motor that sounds like them. I love how fast the 3.25 stroke of the 327 comes to life. The 350 is nice, but the speed on how fast the 327 revs is crazy. We've talked before about them before, but you have got to get a chance to get on a 302 one of these days, if you think the 327 comes alive quickly then you've just got to try a 302. I had one with a light weight aluminum flywheel on it and it was so snappy. You'd love it. Later bro
Hey Marvin! The 327 is a great engine. I like the comparison with the Harley Davidson sound. There very distinctive and you know exactly what it is! A friend of mine has a true 1968 mo code z28 engine ibe been trying to get from him. Maybe I'll give him a call! Have a good one Buddy 👍
@@donshotrodgarage1717 If you can get it then go for it as you will love it. The 302 doesn’t have the torque but the RPMs more than makes up for it. I believe that you would really enjoy it. I really don’t know how good it will be in a nomad but as long as you keep the weight down, it should pull it along fine. You know how it is with a small cube motor in a heavy car. Later bro
If I can get it I'll just save it in the corner for a lighter car! Your right about them having a little less torque. Nomads need torque to get them moving. Have a good one Buddy 👍
hey Dan, the color of the primer on the 55 conv. it looks real red, and not the "brown red" more common color, what is the name of it, and where can i get some, love your cars, thanks. Steve
@@donshotrodgarage1717 ok, how bout on your '57 nomad, thats red primer, can you tell me what brand , and the name on the can, its different than the usual red primer, thanks
Hey Steve! My mistake on the first comment I wrote. That color on the convertible is the same color as the 57 nomad has. Its just cheap restoleum filler primer. Red oxide filler primer! Its great stuff for going over bare metal. Both the 55 convertible and the 57 nomad have been sanded down to bare metal and primered with the red filler primer! Talk to you later buddy!👍
That could even be mine at one time I had to that red and white one that one with a 327 Muncie 4 speed I'm trying to buy another one right now how much is it
I’m looking for a 55 nomad project if you wanta let one go or know where I can pick one up. She looks good Don!
Thanks Brent! This old car is just now no remember my dad bringing them home when I was young. Have a good one👍
Hi, Don Thanks for sharing your Nomad, a car with lots of class. A beautiful sounding 327 and the many details this car has from the factory
Thanks Robert! Glad you liked the video! It does have some cool features from the factory. Back when these cars were built the companies took alot of pride in what they sold. True craftsmanship and pride! Have a good one👍
Good looking ride Don. That 327 was playing some sweet music, nice and smooth. Nothing like old school vehicles. Good job brother!
Thanks Mini Ram! Your right man the music of old engines is one sweet melody! Have a good one Buddy 👍
