He's from Australia and got started in the music industry as a member of the Kpop group C-CLOWN.
He's also a renowned MV director in the Kpop industry, having directed following music videos: Mino’s Body, Bobby‘s Hol Up, Loco‘s Movie Shoot, Amber Liu‘s Borders and Beautiful, PHANTOM’s Could You Be Mine?, Taeyang‘s Wake Me Up, GREE & Rudals’s Friends, P-TYPE’s Time Lag 2, and all MVs for DPR Live.
He also used to be a part of a dance crew called Kill.U.Strate with DPR Live.
He loves jazz and rock, so he fuses them a lot.
His music and mvs are heavily influenced by his Bipolar Disorder diagnosis, which I think is really freaking cool.
He has actually been in a rock band. The whole album Moodswings in disorder is great. I believe it’s his debut album, and about his struggles with bipolar disorder. His 2nd album also very good. Thanks for reacting to him, he deserves more attention ✌️♥️
DPR IAN is definitely one of the best artists out there. His music is incredibly vibe-y and can really send you to entirely different places! And yes his music videos are masterpieces, so much creativity in someone. I hope you can react to more of his stuff! Scaredy Cat is one of my favorite songs because the lyrics are just totally how I feel everyday, but Nerves, Ballroom Extravaganza, and Ribbon are also some great tunes with all different vibes!
DPR Ian is Australian. He was a dancer and then went to Korea and got started in a kpop group (c-clown) in the early 2010s. After he left that scene, he co-founded Dream Perfect Regime (DPR). He is a respected MV director in the kpop industry and is responsible for the "visuals" component of DPR. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when he was young and has been quite open about it; his two albums MITO (Moodswings In This Order) and MIITO have an entire universe and storyline that are a personification of his experience with bipolar disorder. I would really recommend checking out his Zach Sang interview to get to know him a bit better. As for music, I think you should check out the MIITO Movie (part 1) next; it is a short film comprised of four songs from his latest album (MIITO). He edited the whole thing himself, it's fantastic and furthers the storyline.

DPR IAN!!!!!! Such an original cat-- deeply creative and expressively self reflective. I missed the Livestream where you watched his video, so not sure which one it was, but Scardey Cat is a good follow up. Also some stuff he did with/in DPR Live, like the Summer Tights MV. If you haven't seen it already, the Mitto Film is the ULTIMATE, but I would save it up to savor after getting to dig his other MVs. His small stage live shows are absolutely transformative theater at their peak. This man is just Art
Just as a matter of interest, you should watch this interview of DPR Ian. He talks about how he started out in the KPop industry as a member of the group C-Clown, and how the high and low periods of his bipolar disorder affect the music he writes and the videos and other projects he creates. It's a fascinating interview because he's so raw and open about it.

ive never clicked a video so fast.. i love dpr ian, and im so glad to hear more people talking about him after lollapalooza!
With his next album he has a full mini movie that plays through parts of the songs and tells a story so highly recommend. But Ian has bipolar and his music is about his experiences and struggles and shows two sides himself and Mito (with the white eye) who takes control sometimes. He mentions about it in a video on his first album 😊
