dpr ian (and the whole dpr crew tbh) are criminally underrated
I want to gatekeep them so the tour price wouldn’t get too high but then I feel selfish and NEED people to see who they are

Well since no one said it, Ian has bipolar disorder and he expresses his feeling through his music. You can relate to his songs? well him neither, because they were written most likely in his maniac state. When he's in one he becomes someone he calls MITO-Moodswings In This Order (also the name of the 1st album ). When he sings and his voice has some type of effect put on it, it's probably Mito speaking, you can really notice that in "So Beautiful", also in that mv you see him in all black dancing smiling etc. - that's Mito taking over him (while filming those scenes he actually got a maniac episode and can't remember the recording but he's happy with the result). If you want to know something more about him, I think his interview with Zach Sang is the most up to date and he talks about his whole journey form kpop idol to now soloist and his music and all that.

He is the director and also editor of his own music videos! And before he has directed MV's for other idols like Mino, Taeyang and Bobby. Producing is mostly done by DPR Cream

- MITO Movie: an 8 minute short film that goes into a lot of his storyline while using excerpts of 4 different songs (Seraph, 1 Shot, Mood, and Ribbon)
- Don't Go Insane: this song went crazy on tiktok so it's possible you've heard this already but the MV is so great and has lots of lore in it
there are also MVs for Peanut Butter and Tears, So I Danced, and Saint, all of which are amazing. there are more than that but i like those ones the most haha. i hope you react to more of ian's work!!
he has always been open about having bipolar 1, but in the time between your reaction and now, he has also opened up about having DID (dissociative identity disorder, previously known as MPD/multiple personalities disorder) which is what a lot of his work and lore is centered around. for example in So Beautiful, the black and white scenes were of MITO, not Ian. ian has no memory of filming those scenes as MITO was fronting instead. the alters that ian has opened up about are MITO (black and white, the one with an eye missing, tends to front during the bipolar lows), Mr. Insanity (very colourful, clown-like, tends to front during the manic highs), and the Hybrid (we havent seen the hybrid yet but when it is guiding ian, ian is depicted with blue eyes. it tends to front in the time between Mr. Insanity and MITO). his story is so intricate and beautifully directed by ian himself. thank you so much!

5:10 when DPR Ian is staring at the mirror and then shoves it away, I might be totally off point, since I'm not really great at figuring out metaphorical things and stuff, but the mirror was reflecting the sun which was going into his eyeball.
He might've done that on purpose, and it seems like he hates himself for letting go of his once loved one (there was obvious flashbacks with him hugging her, a portrait of her symbolizing that she is always on his mind, laughing with her, etc.) so he wants the sun to burn his eye out. As you already know, looking at the sun with no care, is a way of self-harm. He's showing the audience that he hates himself.
Another thing I want to point out is that this whole channel, most of the videos are talking about the disorder, bipolar.
