The great feature of Gemini Man is that it was shot at 120 FPS. Few cinemas were able to use the original format during its theatrical release. But many of them still offered 60 FPS, which is precisely what is available on 4K Blu-ray.

@@GABuckeye37 It significantly enhanced the viewing experience for me. Movies need to finally start moving on from the archaic 24 FPS.
@@GABuckeye37 24fps is amazing as a stylistic choice, like shooting on film for film grain or black and white. But we've moved towards digital cameras which can go far beyond 24fps. 60fps and 120fps look far more real and it's only a matter of time before it gets adopted in the mainstream.

Watching this clip reminds me this movie was the first time high frame rate really worked for me in the theater. The movie itself is not too great but this felt like a successful experiment. Avatar 2 worked great as well but the frame rate varied from scene to scene which needed a bit more adjusting to.
I wouldn’t at all want most movies filmed and released this way, but I still want more successful experiments like this one. More frequently than just this and an Avatar every two or three years, at least. The filming technology came a great long way since I couldn’t handle that first Hobbit movie in HFR.
I honestly want every movie to look like this. This is why I bought a 60fps 4k TV. To me I cant notice the difference between 1080 and 4k so I dont really care about anything above 1080p but 60fps looks so damn smooth. I really feel like its the future of movies and gaming

The reason movies are shot in 24 fps isn't because the technology isn't ready for a higher framerate, it's shot on 24 because it looks better aesthetically. Ever heard the term "less is more"? The ability to shoot on 60 fps has been around for ages, it's just not done with regards to cinema, and this vdeo illustrates the reason. It looks less like an epic action film and more like a Turkish soap opera from the late 90s. It's uncanny valley af. Most people would utterly hate it and no professional cinematographer would ever tell you this is "the future" LOL.
I truly hope that the industry maintain movies at 24fps because 60fps feels like watching a documentary or a real footage and that curbs the drama effect present in every movie ever

I disagree, he's the only actor in these clips who feels believable, human. Everyone else looks like they're acting.
Use sync 24 fos if your TV delivers.i use it with my Loewe 5.55 (LG C2 panel) and it's 100% smooth, no out of sync, just natural. As i you were using native G-Sync for gaming.
The TV look is partially because it's all overexposed and little color grading, which doesn't make it feel cinematic. the framerate might not be the culprid
I've watched Silence of the Lambs in interpolated HFR and it was great.

That's because there are less 'gaps' in the footage and therefore your eyes have an easier time parsing it. I share the same feeling. Going back to 24 FPS after years of HFR feels like a downgrade across the board.

I know it's a movie but nobody makes that shot without a thousand attempts.
High frame rate definitively adds something to the picture but the added presence might put some poeple off. I like it though. I would like to think of HFR as yet another tool the cinematographer has at their disposure similarly to how 3d is used.

Tith the train moving, there would need to automatic lead as the target is in a different position when the bullet reaches the target compared to where the target was when the gun was fired. In other words, the bullet needs to be fired at where the target will be not where it is at firing. The bullet was not travelling at the speed of light. Likely 2000 or so meters per second. How long would it have taken for the bullet to reach the target? In that time the target has moved. Comparison: on a crossing route, a quarterback throws the ball to where the receiver WILL be not where the receiver is at the time the ball is thrown.

Good job at making the movie look like soap opera. There's a reason movies are shot in 24 frames per second. That's what your brain was trained on all your life, that's what triggers the cine look.

Old man eyes here. Give me 60FPS over the modern 24fps junk any day. I love it. Then again I also tend to dislike many things that 95% of the general population seems to love, like sunshine, warm weather, sunlight, cities/living in a neighborhood vs a house alone in a field/forest. So no doubt mine is likely a minority opinion.
