Many scenes in Farzi were clearly inspired from similar scenes in Breaking Bad, yet Raj & DK think that the audience is foolish enough to believe they hadn't watched Breaking Bad prior to making Farzi and they only watched some of it later when people pointed out the similarities and then they stopped watching it so they don't get further inspired. What a joke! Taking inspiration is not wrong, but blatantly lying about it is.
The Raj & DK combo is killing it consistently. It's fascinating to just get their understanding cinema and what they like. Also just finished "Rectify" after getting the recommendation from Sudip Sharma episode. It's now my top pick of most underrated show of all time.
Great interview but "Do games have stories?" bothered me. Average Joe not being aware of the depth and story engagement of games is palpable but ,after so much success, being still oblivious to the visceralness of this art form is slightly disappointing, especially from the such hip/ ahead of the curve directors. PS: Tha last of us 2 has been the most visceral experience of my life. Even after watching Fincher, Kubrick, Scorcese, Bergman, Villeneuve, Celine Sciamma, Lanthimos, Asghar Farhadi and variety of other world cinema, nobody's standalone work comes close to how deeply this "game" made me feel. Cumulative impact of cinema will be much larger but emotional empact of this game is immense. Incredible piece of art.❤
Yep, video games as a medium are just as important as films,tv shows and books, etc. Some of the video games stories that had visceral impact on me are Bioshock Infinite, Spec Ops: The Line(loosely inspired by book called Heart of Darkness which also inspired the movie Apocalypse Now), Red Dead Redemption 2( probably one of the BEST Western stories I've ever seen/played), if this was a tv show, it would have been just as popular and successful as Breaking Bad, GOT, Succession etc. Witcher 3, which I'm currently playing( f the Netflix adaptation), has some lovable characters. And there are more game status I could list out oh yeh for example if you are fan of Japanese media(for eg. movies, books, anime), you need to delve into Japanese's take on storytelling in video games. In my humble opinion, they truly reach in the leagues of legendary filmmakers. For eg. Dark Souls series and Elden Ring (by the brain of Hidetaka Miyazaki, and even George R.R. Martin who also helped in making the lore of this game). And finally Metal Gear Solid series by Hideo Kojima, who is probably one of the most iconic game writer and director in the whole gaming industry. Many film directors are inspired by his work. Metal Gear series are known for their ridiculous over-the-top nature and deep themes explored through which movies and tv shows couldn't possibly have done. Hideo Kojima loves, LOVES movies, his games are filled with plethora of movie references. Ok, I apologise for the long rambling but coming to your point, I'm also slightly disappointed when videogames are treated as a lesser form. It could be probably due to Rogert Ebert claiming that "video games cannot be art". BTW, really loved this interview, and really love what these duo are bringing into the table of Indian ott space ❤️❤️❤️ Edit: I also apologise for my poor English
The thing is that Sopranos is the complete package. It's like David Chase read the mantra of making the best show before starting to work on it. There are things you'd want in a show for it to be considered the best and Sopranos has it all. There hasn't and probably can't be a better show.

I just dont get the hype of this series , this series was more bland than maggi without its masala. It just had over the top character with very shoddy direction, editing, cinematography and the rest of the nine yards...just sucked. If you want to make movies/series like quintern terention or something in his genre then you have to work really hard to make it interesting, funny, and gripping; this series had none of that.

Everything else is fine but guys with the caliber of Raj DK should definitely watch Sopranos. There literally hasn’t been a better show than Sopranos.
