    really happy to see asics trending as much as they do, hope this jumps over to other less mainstream brands like diadora etc, variety is where its at

    Since I moved out of London I really really miss seeing individualised fashion. Like, these trends all existed in London, but because theyre individualised they never get as cringy as they have potential to when theyre on people that dont have that styling skill 🤷

    Here in the Philippines, bucket hats are still nowhere near as common as baseball caps so I can safely say I can still rock them without it feeling oversaturated XD

    I also cannot stand Mules. The only ones to ever catch my eye were the Reebok Club C Mules, but if I wanted the everything about the Club C in a slip on, I would just buy the regular shoe. I want that secure hold from the ankle grip, and plus most shoes that are made into Mules are slipable enough anyways.

    One thing that I used to love about VujaDe was how it was unique (in a way ?) cause at the time I did not know that his first collection was inspired by the bondage pants that Helmut Lang had put out many years back. But I knew that somehow I had never seen them and I knew that fashion was cyclical so I was happy purchasing the first and second collection; even the third batch of carpenter w the zipper pants. But now with his latest collection, it seems that it was very much inspired by Demna and Balenciaga. Sure the lookbook looks fantastic, but in the long run there is two pieces that I truly want, which is the hoodie and the enzyme hat hat that he has shown previously. The other items just seem too yeezy for me and you can easily find some Levi's silvertabs for the fraction of the price that his baggy denim jeans will retail. I just wish that within the recent collection he put his own voice rather than the yeezy/kanye balenciaga look that everyone is craving but will eventually move on to something else that Kanye will wear.

    • @joshuapark7
      @joshuapark7 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Vuja de was too much of a copy to be considered unique. Its just archive clothing rebranded by a youtuber. He also marked everything as sold put to post them on grailed at a higher price. He man made archive fashion out of designs he didn’t create. I feel like dead stocking your own clothes to create resell is artifical

    • @outhegrid
      @outhegrid 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joshuapark7 yeah I guess you’re right. At the time I wasn’t really aware of the carbon copies that bondage pants were. Though there were definitely cool pieces regardless. And yeah his method that he does where he puts them as sold and sells them higher seems unethical

    • @joshuapark7
      @joshuapark7 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@outhegrid yeah I personally have no respect for brands with no creativity. I also have no respect for people who create artificial demand. I have no respect for people who don't go through the actual struggles of creating a brand. When I see people who buy and wear deja vu I just think "Damn they are proud to wear fake clothing"

  • @Devananta-Rafiq
    @Devananta-Rafiq 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think the "content creator brands" are mostly doing good. I think they set certain high standard for themselves to make their brands even more unique every release e.g. Oree and Haven Court are the best rn imo.

    Here in CA that retro 90s look has become beyond saturated. Everyone looks like a clone now with their baggy pants and washed out shirts. Where there is more variety outside the people wearing Panda Dunks is footwear. I see more people wearing shit like New Balances,Adidas Sambas,Clogs and Docs than Retro Jordans now. Also Gorpcore is a niche micro trend lol. I have never seen anyone dressing like that here, not even last winter when it was “blowing up” online 💀

    Besides Nike in general because I'm just over that brand and brand loyalty entirely, there's white transplant fashion. It's so unoriginal and usually cribs from a style from people that they would frown their noses at but in the most swagerless way possible. How many light acid wash, high waisted cropped jeans and cooked air force 1s a day do I see when I leave the house. Way too many. Before then, shelltoes and club Cs. Killshots if you wanted to be a little fancy lol.

    This was a fun list. Been thinking about getting a bucket hat recently since I don't have a lot of hat options for summer, but it's pretty neutral for me as a trend. Agree with you on mules though. Feels like they're cutting costs by not giving you the back of the shoe and seems like your feet are going to fall out?
    Hard to say which trends I like, since it's mishmash this year with everyone giving a different few, but I've been really into neon orange and pants with weird textures.

    This was interesting for me, because the trends you mentioned are not what influencers in the US have been talking about...is it because I am a woman? Or is it bc the trends you mentioned are "street-driven" as you said? But the trends you mentioned are actually more interesting to me than hot pink or feather-trimmed sweaters or a giant heart necklace, or whatever other crap I've been hearing about. I loved those asics you showed! I was not aware that was a Japanese brand (duh). And yeah, I guess if I were to visit Japan those size 41-42 men's shoes are about the only thing I could fit on my foot, lol. I do have one bucket hat that I've had forever--it's furry. I'm looking forward to wearing it.
