main reason i feel like IP man's fighting style is near unbeatable is because while its meant for close range which is actually better than long range is because you can block something when its close to you. for example if someone uses a kick you can block it or redirect it to the side. it also would allow you to get under the leg to knock them off balance. basically close range is superior to long range when it comes to martial arts. and i do tai kwan doe which is a long range fighting style. mainly kicks with some aikido. basically with close range if you can close the gap its an easy win. if your long range your attacks can be blocked with close range blocks and being better at long range means you dont want to close the gap. also IP man uses super minimal movement in his style meaning he doesnt waste much effort with blocks and attacks. minimal movement but maximum effect.
