Watching this makes you happy and sad at the same time..thinking about how beautiful the different species of plants are being lost in South America and Africa to deforestation.
I'm glad these conservatories exist..so even if these species are lost in the wild ...they can still have a last chance to survive!

Another wonderful tour of Fairchild, I eagerly await any video of yours filmed here. Great seeing and hearing about these new and existing plantings, I can’t help but miss Chad’s meditative musings on them. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to visit but I love it from afar.
Great video! The unknown sp. at 8:25 looks like one I’ve seen at the African section in the Botanical Gardens in Munich. I later identified it as Culcasia mannii 🥳✌️

The plant in the beginning of the video grows everywhere here in Amazon and it has a white flower just like an anthurium
I finally know something you did not know: Dichorisandra thyrsiflora! I know it because I got it. The other blue one shortly after is D. pendulum. Loverly flowers!

3:21 this Homalomena is such pain to grow as a houseplant. I can only grow them in terrarium setting which mean it can't grow big. This plant found grow near rivers and fountains so i might need fish pond or something to make it thrive in my condition.
I need the giant "maidenhair fern." Like now. I bet you it's hardy too. Need it!
