An interview with a person who knows about a work or music is very great, like this interview with Pandet Kumarji, who has a great understanding of music and he is also a great singer inspires the singer, and the singer speaks and sings from the heart and the listener enjoys it. thanks 🙏
Thanks for bringing back my memories of hosting this great musician in Montreal Canada in 1990. He was very young and gave such a great program! It brings tears to my eyes just listening to him. Thanks Panditji for this interview. Hope his lineage will flourish and prosper and keep Hindustani music thriving.
Thanks for uploading this treasure! I only have part of it from the old VCDs that I bought many years ago! This is an exquisite example of congregation of beautiful minds! Pandit Kumar Prasad Mukherjee had shown us how musical interviews should be done.
These are all the tresuery of Hindusthaani classical music. When Rashid ji was 25 years age he had concert with Pt. Bhimsen ji Joshi. Bhimsen ji had praised lot to Rashid ji. Great people are creation of God and destiny.
The concluding remark of respected Kumar Prasad Mukherjee that in classical music, the depth of correct knowledge and skill of an artist, acquired through intense and proper training (“Vidya”), is more entertaining/important than even a top notch melodious voice, can probably be realised by only a few.
This kind of interview is an example of quintessential propagation of knowledge. Pranam to both of these Maestros. Ust. Rashid ji will live forever among us. Because we will listen to him till our last breath.
