Dearest Faith - I remember so fondly your role in the NEA Funded Visual Artists Exchange for Collaborative Art at NYFAI in 1987. Your direction and wisdom changed the lives of all of the young artists selected to participate. I went on to teach on the South Providence inner city campus at the Community College of Rhode Island for 25 years. 'The Last Story Quilt 'was screened in every class and provided much inspiration and joy to each student who passed through our doors. These same students have lent their voices to my films and through their courage and candidness have changed countless hearts and minds on issues around race and colorism. Thank you, Faith, for opening so many doors for those who now have a voice.

I dreamed that Bisa Butler whispered , "You need to know the work of Faith Ringgold," and there she was, in the new book ART RULES by Cassie Packard, a piece entitled "Creativity Involves Risk-Taking: Trust your own capabilities and leap." The quilting, narrative Word Art, hanging work by a wooden dowel, all timeless.

I've seen her show twice and I will see it again. I love the way this exhibition was put together: not just in that main room, towards the back, but including the hallway areas leading to it.

Saw this show and absolutely loved it. Highly recommended. I'm also going to risk saying that as far as "women's art goes," I think she runs rings around Judy Chicago.

Why is it Faith or Judy? Why compare? They are both great. Is there a limit on great women artists? Withdraw your needless comparison.why are you comparing, they are both great?

I totally agree. Two terrific artists: no need to compare.
