Though not common "back in the day," these along with the "others" mentioned. Soo great to see such a SWEEEEEETT RIDE!

Glad you enjoyed it. My father's business had a "snub-nosed" or cab-over Chevy van that I occasionally got to drive as a teenager. It was weird not have a hood and engine compartment ahead of you. It made you feel vulnerable.

It truly is, and you don't see very many of them.

That is sweet! I had never heard of the rear mounted cast iron counterweight. That mass might be used as battery weight for a hybrid drivetrain.

Wow! That is not only unusual and beautiful, but utilitarian!

Great idea for hybrid battery. But that whole legs over the front axle thing.

I was unaware of the counterweight as well. Made a feeble attempt to look underneath and get a photo but wasn't able to...

@@ride-ct-classiccars Perhaps someone could "weigh" in and tell us the mass of that lump of iron. Quick search revealed nothing, except hints that it might be in the range of 150 lbs. Apparently counterweight was also installed in similar vehicles by other manufacturers, which proves than no one is exempt from the laws of physics!

I've always liked the Dodge A100 and they even had a Drag race version and it had a 426 Chrysler HEMI Called the little Red Wagon and it would do a wheelie all the way down the Drag strip.

The Little Red Wagon was cool! It really stood out in its time. Thanks for checking in.

    You sound like John Davis!
Love it - these quirky niche cars and trucks are the best!
Great promo for the brewery too!
More cool cars, less maga hate.

Is that John Davis comment or a criticism? Seriously, I get that response sometimes, but my delivery is not on purpose. It's just because I worked in TV news for a long time. I've "toned it down" with new videos realizing that TH-cam requires a less forceful approach but there's no way to easily change stories taken from the archives. I'm with you on finding niche and odd cars. So much fun. Thanks for watching.

Love it. I had a 67 Chevy sport 108 van. 32 inch altering tires. I loveed it.

Sweet! I'm guessing that spellcheck changed "all-terrain" to "altering?"

A high school friend of mine. His next door neighbor had one of these. He got it from a auction at the L ate Long Beach ,CA . Navy Base. He welded the tailgate shut and airbrushed .A very popular poster from the 1970's on it. The poster was known as The Last Great Act of Defiance. For those that don't know what that is google is your friend.
