Thanks so much for the excellent instruction. It would be easier to follow the cursor if it was highlighted in some way, thus instead of searching with our eyes for the cursor, we could pay better attention to your words.
Great suggestion, and as a matter of fact, if you watch my most recent videos, you'll see that I've changed to a larger green cursor to aide visibility. I hope that helps, and thanks for watching! ^CM
I am a beginner. After viewing one of your 30-50 min tutorial video, creating a 5-10 min condensed version would be desirable and popular as a re-freshener. A Transcript is an alternative but cumbersome. TY
Excellent video and thanks for sharing. I have a couple of questions, in the TIF instruction field there are two aditional options besides NONE , AON and FOK what those mean ?
Happy to clarify! "AON" = All or None (Fill all shares at the same price, or fill none at all) and "FOK" = Fill or Kill (Fill all shares in the order immediately, or cancel/kill the order.) I hope this helps! ^CM
Are all 8 of the Getting Started with thinkorswim lessons located in sequential order any place? Same with other lessons such as Getting Started with Technical Analysis? I would like to go through each series of lessons in sequential order to be sure I covered the complete topic before jumping into another one. Appreciate the great lessons. JDM
You can find all eight of Getting Started with thinkorswim here. th-cam.com/play/PL8a6s5nq1lPTMHmq7rNVIQE9mqyhsxD5I.html You will need to scroll down a little bit but they are all there. Same with Getting Started with Technical Analysis. th-cam.com/play/PL8a6s5nq1lPSAWNZY0fBW06pPq0dV_U-L.html ^BC
Is Order Entry customizable such that after selecting the Amount option in the Qty field and entering a budgeted amount for my order the equivalent number of product units is calculated automatically and rounded down to the closest match?
Good morning, do you think you guys would consider of modernization monitor tab Position summary tab P/L ? it's very confusing when you want to understand what's your P/L for day or for the share. No specific color or +/- signs to understand. It would be way easier if P/L would just distinguish with green/red colors and would make easy to understand it rather than taking extra seconds while you may miss a good deal. Thank you Cameron is a very good instructor. Easy explanation.
Happy to help! To have your P/L Day values change to red or green on price ticks: "Account Settings" icon (gear icon) in upper-right of thinkorswim > Application Settings > Display > Show color price ticks > check "Position Statement" box. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching! ^CM
When you're describing the symbol "Q" under Div. Freq, you say that "it's just a symbol where the quote is coming from." I think it actually stands for Quarterly, please clarify. Thank you for a very informative video.
Ha! Of course, you're absolutely right. I had something else entirely on my mind at that moment, and misspoke. Thanks for providing me the opportunity to clarify, and thanks for watching! ^CM
I have a question on a stock order, in the TIF (time in force) field there is a link that is rhere or broken. What does that do? I have clicked it and see no change in the order at all
Happy to clarify! That link is used to link the Time in Force of multiple orders together on the same order "ticket." For example, if a trade is being placed with one buy order and two sell orders and the trader wants all three to be "GTC," rather than selecting "GTC" three times, they can instead just click the link and then change the first to GTC. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching! ^CM
Happy to help! In brief, you could set the order to be submitted after the first hour on a given day, but I'm not aware of a function that would skip that first hour every day on a single order. ^CM
Do you mean a "Sell All" function to sell all shares of a single stock? Or sell all stocks in an entire portfolio? Happy to help, but I want to make sure I offer the help you're actually looking to receive. Thanks! ^CM
Thnx for the quick response...I found the solution, just not used to this platform yet,,,my bad. All my SSE is customized, charts, scans,WL's etc. I would think it would be possible to convert all of it over to TOS fairly quickly for the nerd kids...not so much for us old guys lol
Stops can be set a fixed dollar amount or fixed percentage amount per share below a selected price, or one can also set both of these to "trail" if price subsequently rises. In any event, a stop is not a guarantee of a specific selling price. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching! ^CM
I'm happy to help, but I may need you to clarify: Where are you seeing these letters? You may have a custom column, so I'll need to know what that column is in order to give accurate direction. In any event, thanks for watching! ^CM
Can I sort the strike prices to be in descending order (as on charts)? Confession: I know that TOS does not proide that feature, though Robinhood does. I don’t know a single other inividual who actually cares! I guess that’s why it is not available.
Excellent training for Thk or Swm, Greatly Appreciated, Thanks.
Glad you liked it! ^CM

Not a bad idea! And in any case, enjoy the rest of the series! ^CM

That is not a trade feature on thinkorswim, but it can be done on schwab.com. Hope this helps! ^CM

For a GTC trade, could I specify that it is to be effective after the first half hour of trading each day?
Happy to help! In brief, you could set the order to be submitted after the first hour on a given day, but I'm not aware of a function that would skip that first hour every day on a single order. ^CM
Is there a sell all choice? You showed the buy stuff but then went to options which I don't do.....thnx

Can you set up a floating stop loss order in ToS?
Stops can be set a fixed dollar amount or fixed percentage amount per share below a selected price, or one can also set both of these to "trail" if price subsequently rises. In any event, a stop is not a guarantee of a specific selling price. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching! ^CM
On the Options statistics, I use just the iv percentile when I am selling puts.
Thanks, Linda! ^CM
What different letters at Bid and Ask prices mean?
