@Steve Roberts- Thank you for sharing this. Do you mean you drove him to the set, etc? You got to hang around on the set and watch? Do you perhaps have a personal anecdote or story to share?
In the 1970's, Thursday was our Little House night. We would rush home from school, then be sent to the chip shop for our dinner so our mum didn't have to cook. Our parents had fish chips and peas, we had sausage and chips and peas. We would sit there and eat quietly to watch LHOTP! (I live in England.)
I remember Michael did a movie with Priscilla Presley " Love is Forever" Michael was just an actor in the movie and had no control over the writing or directing. He was an absoloute monster to people on the set. But Michael is a person who has to have some control of production or hes not happy. I remember Priscilla mocked him for his behavior, stating the the movie was a flop. I started thinking to myself, maybe it wouldn't have been a flop if they let Michael write and direct the movie.
I always loved Michael Landon too, but breaking the hearts of two women because you had a wondering eye kinda sucks, especially with so many kids. And I’ve seen other interviews, including co-actors from LHOTP, that mention his dark side and his drinking. Nobody is as saintly as these videos are portraying.
No one is perfect in this life. But he was a good man who truly loved his family. He was a great friend abd employer and his cast and crew all love him to this day. Yes he drank on the set as did everyone in those days. He also had a major pressure and felt responsible for all of the people who worked for him. To this day he us still supporting them - with all the reunions where they make money because of him. His 1st wife was a mistake of his youth. He was q9 and became attached to Dodie's 9 yr old son. His 18 year marriage to Lynne looked perfect from the outside but as his daughter Leslie said- no one knows what goes on between 2 people. I think he truly loved her and he had the perfect family he always dreamed of so what went wrong? I don't know and you don't so why judge the man. His kids forgave him and adore him to this day if you check their social media pages. Abd they are his greatest legacy. Be not so hard - for life is short. And he must manage as best he can - lyrics from a Joan Baez song. Be kind
Such a talented man, actor, writer, director and producer. He was also a very good-looking man. My wife and daughters fell in love with him, as little Joe on Bonanza, which is where we were first introduced to Michael Landon. Michael gave us some the finest television family viewing we have ever had. The only thing i will never understand is why he married such unattractive women. I'm sorry but at the risk of sounding unkind, none of his three wives were pretty woman. The first two were both older than him and previously married with children. the second wife Lynn Noe was very fierce looking. The third wife Cindy Clerico was below average in the looks department too. What the hec , this man could have had his pick of a bevy of beautiful girls especially in Hollywood. Michael was a troubled man, I remember once in an interview with Barabra Walters he actually said, and I quote...". Does anybody ever really love anyone"? Barbara looked at him oddly, and Michael soon corrected himself, and then said ..."well of course they do". I'm not sure he was sincere when he corrected himself. Anyway, I loved Michael Landon, we all did, he is missed. Thank you for this video.
@andrewmiller4885' You bring up some interesting points. I was never impressed with his ladies but then, he was the one who fell in love. And regardless of what yiu heard on Barbara Walter's, I believe he totally loved Lynne. From all accounts of friends he was totally besotted. (Love that word). He was jealous when her attention strayed to others and to quote one of his friends, "When they were together it was like no one else was in the room." Lynne was a high class, fashion model type to ML's working class . I think after 18 years and much responsibility for many people ( family besides his kids as well as responsibility he felt towards his crew)- and his age perhaps- he realized they were different. Cindy was young but she was much more his type I think - more down to earth. I didn't mean to skip Dodie - she was very pretty with a Jackie Kennedy type of grace about her and a FB friend who knew her and Michael , as a child, said she was very sweet and loving. There's no way Michael Landon didn't believe in love. I remember when Prince Charles said that about Diana. No way Michael Landon did not love - and deeply. 😊❤️
Hello and thank you for your reply. I think Michael Landon was a very complex man. However, I do agree with much of what you have said. He certainly looked besotted with Lyn. You can see it in the way he is looking at her in some of their early photos together. He was far too young when he married Dodie, and he did admit that he fell in love with her young son, not Dodie. Michael became very attached to the child; hence I suppose the marriage to a woman he didn't love. His second marriage to Lyn is very curious tough. It strange to me that someone could be so in love and then decide after 19 years to just end it all. Does that much love just disappear? "We grew apart." ....."we were two very different people", sound like nothing more than excuses to me. They sound very lame, and they are certainly very modern-day reasons or phrases people give for infidelity and divorce. You go back a few decades, and reasons like that were never given. People got divorced because of cheating, neglect, or cruelty, or because they never loved the other person in the first place. Anyway, I guess really, I should not judge. All I know is Michael had a horrible upbringing. A neglectful abusive and mentally ill mother, and a father who was disengaged from his family. Michael had a lot of love in his heart, and he wanted to give it and receive it. It was so reflected in his Television shows, that's how he wanted it and that's how he wrote his scripts. All I'm saying is I'm not sure Michael ever found the real deal in life. I think he would have left Cindy too, had he lived longer. I think Michael wanted a true and honest close and loving family, and that he tried to create in his life, as he was creating it and depicting on screen.
@Betsy Veritas- So? They made a big deal about it for Michael. There are still people today , 30 years after his passing, who say terrible things about him for choosing g the path he took. I wS not there in his marriage so I couldn't tell you why he left Lynne. I take him at his word that it wasn't just because he wanted to sleep with Cindy. That was not the way he had lived his life. He was 1st and foremost a family man. To the end of his life on Earth.
Aujourd'hui on entend tellement de violences et de viols dans le monde du cinéma,et autre...je crois sincèrement qu il reste un saint pour avoir uniquement lâché son épouse pour une jeunette ...❤ Sa faute reste un éloge pour lui❤
He had three wives. He left his first for Lynne. The son from that marriage suffered. I adored Michael Landon and believe Cindy would have been his last marriage.
Loved Michael and Godly shows ..sad about him trying find love in various wives etc.. nit judging him though..hope he got to be born again Christian like his ex wife and son ..tragedy life here on earth ended so very short....I pray he got savedvand I will see him in heaven !!!!!
Nope! His kids begged him to know Jesus and he said NO! I’m a Jew and it wasn’t like he was a practicing Jew! But he told them no he wouldn’t change because of death. However it’s not our decision it’s Gods but the Bible says God will see us as sin if we are not covered in his sons blood! That’s all that saves us.
@Raminakai - it was posted but TH-cam has blocked it in some countries. We tried to make changes so it woukd be allowed but apparently it is still blocked. So sorry. 😞
@2710daisy- Yes. But his children were always a big part of his life. He only left their home. He never left them. Remember - he only PLAYED an angel.on TV. 💞
You are wrong. He only divorced his wife. ALL of his children remained part of his life right until the day he died. It was difficult for the older ones to accept but he made it a priority. They were at his wedding and he still spent time with them. They still talk about him lovingly. They were ALL present at the recent 50th LHOP reunion specifically to honor and remember him. And they brought all if their children. Who are YOU to judge him?
I was his driver for the little house pilot he was great and very generous I was honored to be there
@Steve Roberts- Thank you for sharing this. Do you mean you drove him to the set, etc? You got to hang around on the set and watch? Do you perhaps have a personal anecdote or story to share?
NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE could ever take the place of Michael Landon. Rest In Peace. You are forever missed.
Ohhhh - so true. 😍

I was a teenage werewolf was the perfect role for Landon...... considering he was born on Halloween

I think he had a hard time making good relationships because of his dysfunctional childhood.
He certainly had plenty of children...to carry on his good looks...
This man had the greatest hair-bar none:)
He sure did!
Gotta say they match.
He was also, very handsome .
@Robyn Lea - Ha ha 😂 That's like saying "the Sun is hot". Yes. Very handsome. 💞
Certainly was, I wouldn't say no. ❤

Jennifer almost looks like melissa
Always remembered that he left his wife and kids for a kid, an 18 yr old.. barely legal.
And that broad was gross looking..
His wife, Lynn, was beautiful
That third one was gross looking even with makeup on
Well he left his 1st wife for the wife you feel bad for.
If a woman star had traded in her 19 year marriage for a new, younger 18 year old, people likely would never forgive her. Ya know?
