Looked up Lake Fork. That is massive. 85 times bigger than where I usually fish. Keep posting these. I've living through you till my lake goes back to liquid.
I’ll keep em coming as long as I’m able to fish. Thanks for tagging along. The lake is definitely massive. The bad thing about it as well is nearly everything looks fishy haha.
Sometimes, it's like that when fishing. You have all things right from Baits to the right spot but the fish won't bite. Awesome catches later on. Hey at least there wasn't a skunk that day! Thanks for sharing your fishing trip!🐟👍🏼
I fished this as well. Loved the experience. I managed to catch 7 bass, all under 14 inches...lol. If you are fishing more Texas tournaments in 2025 maybe I'll see you around! Good luck.
2 fish is better than no fish, way to stick it out! This is going to be exactly what I do at Gibbons. Big bodies of water are really tough. Im a noob also and the Gibbons Creek tourney will be my first tourney and really looking forward to it. Maybe see you there? Cheers! Nice Videos!
Yoooo! Yeah I’m definitely happy to not have skunked, especially with no pre-fish haha. Man… I really hope the rain goes away for Sat… but I’m planning on being there! It should be a good time, and it’ll be my first go over there as well. It’ll be cool to meet you in person!
I really need to pre-fish for these larger tournaments haha. It may or may not have helped. Either way, Fork is an amazing fishery. For those that live close, it must be a blast. Minus the traffic
Most definitely. My confidence shot up like crazy when I caught that one, but it quickly dropped back down 😂. Glad I didn’t lose anything - some guys lost rods, some broke transducers, others trolling motor mounts. It was a rough day for a lot lol.
Next time! Well… maybe not another Native. That one was expensive 😂. Definitely hurts a little more coming away with 0$ to help offset gas and the other expenses haha.
Bro, tournaments are like gambling. You can up your chances a bit, but sometimes it’s all about how the dice fall. Just fish and have fun living the dream.
😂 most definitely!!! It’s never fun to lose out, but man I do like the competitive edge though. Maybe not so much for something like this again… unless it’s on a body I’m SUPER confident on. Even then… idk. It was pretty steep, and I’ve gotta step my game up to be able to compete like that, especially without a pre-fish.
I think I would have been able to put up a limit if I had another day to pre-fish and kinda figure stuff out, but idk haha. It was a good experience for sure
@@thatfishingnoob when I was a kid you could go to the back of any of the creek arms and land chunks on just about any day. Funny though my biggest fish there is about 3# but my smallest is about 2#. Cranks worked awesome on the damn. We would burn the lips off of them dragging them and beating them on rocks. But when all the hype started you couldn’t even launch your boat on the weekends unless you were there at 3:30 in the morning. Then the fish just became more and more shy. That lake is a shell of what it once was.
You caught some fish and I bet there was many people there that did not catch a single one. I think your fishing instincts will grow and of course fish move all day so you could catch them in one hour and not the next in the same spot. A lake that big you would have to fish many times and you would still only be familiar with just that single area you fished. So you are always competing against locals that know the hot spots on bigger lakes.
I was glad to not skunk haha. I think I’ve been improving since my first tournament, but I’m still a ways away from putting together consistent patterns and switching into “tournament fishing mode” like finding the pattern and then reproducing it throughout the day. I know I’m definitely at a bit of a disadvantage against the locals. Same with online tournaments with folk that live on big bass producing lakes, but it’s still a fun process overall. I probably won’t be fishing expensive ones until I have more time to devote to pre-fishing or unless I’m some crazy superstar 😂 😂. It’s been a fun journey.
Dude what a tournament! Would be wild to even get one of the big bass. Great video man I enjoyed following you on your journey!
Thank you sir! I’ll place one of these days, and it’ll be awesome 😂 😂 😂

I’m most definitely thankful to not skunk that day haha. I’ve been doing better about not skunking!!! 😂

For sure! It was a fun experience for sure haha. It would be amazing to have more time on that lake and catch some good ones.

Awe man I grew up just down the road from Lake Fork.
Snaps!!!! That would be super cool to have that as a backyard lake pretty much.
it was for sure a tough day out there!! I was only able to submit 3 fish all day and ive been there a few times

Tip, add crankbaits to use as a search to cover more water quicker
Maaaan I hear that 😂. I really don’t like cranking though haha
Dude I've been there a few times during a tournament and it's hard to keep your confidence up.

I was at that same cove with the firing range!
😂 I guess they felt bad for me and showed up right before I got there haha
I was at the same tournament, but I sucked at fishing all day!

Well it wasn’t a skunk. 👍😎
That’s for sure!!!!
There are fish there, but that lake is so pressured since I was a kid.

Remember to spend a little time practicing at the stuff that you think you suck at.
Great reminder. I definitely need more time on a good lake to practice things.
