    I'm so happy I found your channel, definitely an eye opener for someone who watches mainstream skinfluencers. Thank you very much for your recommendations, I will try to get hold of these in my country. Looking forward to your best of 2023 or skincare trends for 2024, Odile! 💜

      She is the only one I came across that talks about all the brands I’ve know since junior high. Forget the other non Korean TH-camrs talking about so called Korean products. Even some are estheticians , dermatologists .. it really doesn’t matter because they don’t truly know or understand. For one they certainly can’t understand any about eastern medicine so listing to them speak is painful. They also only feature the products that are only pushed to the west , and seriously isn’t an accurate representation of Korean products.

    Hey Odile, I’ve been following your channel for awhile now & am curious if you can create a video of your morning & evening skincare routine with all the products you use & how to apply them? Im a guy who has combination acne prone skin with an oily t-zone & I shave my face/beard area but still want to shrink my pore size, reduce/eliminate black heads on nose, reduce fine lines around my eyes & forehead, reduce hollowness & slight darkness under eye, & overall just a brighter more youthful complexion. If you have any recommendations please share. Your skin is flawless & your informative videos are much appreciated. Thanks for your time & consideration! 🙏🏼

    This was helpful. I was trying to decide between the two and I think I’ll go with Round Lab (aka not cancel the impulse order I just made) because I don’t like a very oily finish and if it’s #1 in Korea it’s probably doing something right.

    • @monicali8569

      It’s really good! I rarely say good things about hair products because I’ve been dealing with mostly frizzy hair since junior high so it’s not easy for me to find products that do much. I’ve been using whoo shampoo / treatment for about three months now. It’s also what I’ve been using continuously which says a lot , because I normally hop to different products very frequently when it comes to skincare ,hair care etc. the bottles are small especially the treatment (one gift box pack comes with two shampoos about 300 ml and one treatment about 220 ml) and in still on the first set! The formula is a thick liquid , a little goes a long way. Not sure your location but I found the best price on yamibuy which is much lower than retail price.

    • @monicali8569
      @monicali8569 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To me any “authentic” Korean spf is fine. The ones that are directly imported to the west to like a Sephora etc isn’t ok. I’ve tried them all out of curiosity and they’re basically all American spf filters and every one of them stings the eyes. And a few that are pushed to the west also had this issue ie thank you farmer in the blue tube. But sticking with authentic Korean ones there won’t be issues! I own pretty much all of odile’s recomendations. Actually she is the only TH-camr that talks about all the Korean brands I grew up knowing and for that I’m 100% a fan.

    • @monicali8569
      @monicali8569 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It does. But I try not to buy from western places because some brands , change the formula when they sell it at such places. Unfortunately it’s hard to say which ones unless I personally try it. To give you an example every single Korean spf I bought from Sephora stung my eyes because they’re actually all us spf filters. However this won’t be the case if I bought from Asian sources.

    Ciao Odille
    My name is Katerina and I am a fellow skincare enthusiast from Greece (I wish I could write to you in Italian,but I haven't spoiken it for ages.. ho dimenticato tutte le parole) !!! I am absolutely loning your content and learning so much from you!
    I'd really appreciate it of you could help me out with something... greek social media are heavily pushing out certain korean brands as very popular in Korea, very "cuttin'edge" and exclusively sold in spas and doctors'offices, but I've never ever heard anyone outside Greece talk about them. Could you please confirm if that is actually the case? I am talking about brands such as Dr Hedison, Daylisse, Maxclinic, Lisse, GLURE, Hahn’s Peptide, Cellucy...
    are they really loved by Koreans, am I missing out on them?
    Kisses fron Greece😽

    • @OdileMonodTheMonodist
      @OdileMonodTheMonodist  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you! All the brands you listed are mainly targeted to the foreign market and are not well known in Korea. Maxclinic occasionally is mentioned in the Korean press because one of their products does really well on Amazon US apparently, but that’s it. As a rule of the thumb I tend to be very cautious of brands that claim to be very popular in Korea when selling to foreigners, 9 out of 10 is never true.

    Maybe someone would know?
    Does homosalate, Octycrylene and octisalate go together with Uvinal A and Tinosorb M? I ask because I put a tinted spf over a Korean PA+++ and I don’t want to affect the effectiveness.
    I ask because I use the Korean sunscreen Beauty of Joseon and then I put IT cosmetics cc cream, SPF 40 over the top.

    I have both the Doctor G and the Round Lab sunscreens and I find that neither of them are perfect. I have normal skin and a pale complexion. The Doctor G one feels nice, but leaves a very strong white cast. The Round Lab one is perfect on application and leaves no white cast at all, but within an hour it becomes firm and filmlike. It sort of feels like wearing a glossy clay mask all day long. Neither of them irritated my skin though, which is a huge plus.
