    I’ve been considering the Missha sunscreen recently too. I do really love Hera. The one thing I wish the waterproof sunscreens WOULD NOT have is fragrance. If they were available fragrance free I do believe they would work well for more people with sensitive skin. Thank you so much for the information in this video.

    Very interesting info. In EU and US the "waterproof" claim is no longer allowed and was replaced by "water resistant" and "very water resistant" claims.

      The eu and especially us do not have high end technology for sunscreens. It’s also not their specialty to make anything with good feel / aesthetics.

      @@monicali8569 this is a blanket statement demonstrably not true :) There are absolutely EU brands with very high end sunscreen technology and also very good textures. Have you tried them ALL?

    As always an amazing work, I love your videos on sunscreen, as you’re the only TH-camr i know, who talk about water resistant option in the Korean market. I have to agree with you the isa Knox is one of the best sunscreen I’ve ever tried, the fragrance is simply stunning, but it can be a bit too much for my oily skin during the hottest days of summer, I’ll definitely try the one from Cnp laboratory

    Funilly enough I've just ordered the CNP one last week after rewatching your older video about sunscreens. Thankfully it made a reappearance here so I'm sure it's great!
    I've used the Missha waterproof milk during a holiday by the lake and was pretty happy with it. It's also inexpensive!

    Your reviews are always accurate and to the right level of details. I haven’t come across a product I bought upon your recommendation not working out for me (having similar skin type helps too) ❤️💯 Much appreciate your sharing on Korean standards/regulations for water resistant sunscreens.
    Thanks to you, I found the ISA KNOX 365 and really liked it, bonus that it doesn’t sting my eyes. If I hadn’t found La Roche Posay Uvmune 400 cream, it would be my most favorite. Surprisingly, I find the finish of both sunscreens are very similar, even though the texture is different. I prefer La Roche Posay only because it has more filters and the filters are more modern (BUT it stings my eyes :()
    Buying the Hera Leports now. 😊

    I've actually heard before that Korea was crazy humid in summer, which is why I was surprised how difficult it was to find a waterproof, mineral sunscreen that works well under makeup.
    Where I live we also have very humid, extremely hot and depressingly long summers, and to top it all, I personally tend to sweat profusely in the face specifically, for some reason.
    I'm totally ok with double cleansing at the end of the day to remove the sunscreen. I do it anyway since I use other waterproof products in my makeup routine, including waterproof mascara.
    I'm honestly surprised that my desperate need for a sunscreen that is waterproof and at the same time comfortable to wear daily for the office and under makeup, is such a unique and "niche" demand, especially in Korean beauty.
    As you said, most of these are difficult to find outside of Korea. I plan to try the Missha though, as I love the brand in general and the Velvet Finish from the same series used to be my go to sunscreen up until a couple of years ago. Do you have any idea why it was discontinued?

    • @OdileMonodTheMonodist
      @OdileMonodTheMonodist  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Missha's Sun Milks were relaunched with a new packaging last month in Korea so I think some websites might still be waiting for the new stock. This is what the new packaging looks like:
      twitter.com/odilemonod/status/1658413218354851840?t=p6Rjz7asfXNgGfuehQdrfw&s=19
      Unfortunately the Velvet Finish was discontinued two years ago. They didn't disclose why but if I had to guess it's probably because the Soft Finish one had a similar (but slightly less matte) finish with a more dramatic tone-up effect that is more sought-after in Korea.

    • @cccsssish
      @cccsssish ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OdileMonodTheMonodist Yeah, I remember thinking that they were quite similar om the skin. But the Velvet Finish had a better coverage (an additional +), which is why I was disappointed with the discontinuation. Is that one + quite significant?
      Thanks for the link! Missha I'm usually able to find, but not most of the others that you mentioned in the video.

    Can you please recommend more affordable options for the body? Preferably ones that feel like skin or are matte. Much like the feel of the SKIN1004 Hyalu-CICA Water-fit Sun Serum ? That would be so wonderful. I live in an extremely hot desert that reaches 110 degrees f, or 43 degrees c. But we also have monsoon, where it is extremely hot and extremely humid as well
    I am aware thar the skin1004 probably isn't great for sweating either, but it's the most lightweight I've tried, and therefore the only one ive been willing to use. Ive purchased many recommended sunscreens, but this is the only one that I've been willing to wear daily.
    Advice from anyone knowledgeable would be fantastic.

    BTW, the main reason that I prefer a mineral sunscreen, is that if I understand correctly, it is more efficient when reapplied over makeup. I'm not actually sure where the hybrid sunscreens stand in that regard but I assume they are better suited for it than chemical ones?
    I think it'd be a great topic for a video, especially now that we're getting closer to summer: sunscreen reapplication and which type of sunscreens are best for that. I just discovered your channel yesterday but I find it very informative. I'd love to hear what knowledge you have on that subject!

    • @OdileMonodTheMonodist
      @OdileMonodTheMonodist  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes my personal preference is hybrid sunscreens exactly because they re-apply better, are more resistant compared to chemical sunscreens but they're not drying for dry skin like many mineral sunscreens.
      Thank you for the feedback!

    • @cccsssish
      @cccsssish ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OdileMonodTheMonodist Thank you! Thats good to have a confirmation!
      Besides the drying issue, are mineral sunscreens even better than hybrid ones for that reapplication purposes, or is it that the hybrid ones have all the protection that the mineral ones have, plus additional chemical filters?

      @OdileMonodTheMonodist  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you! The CNP Outdoor Fluid Sun is indeed more matte than the Isa Knox, but I would describe the finish a semi-matte rather than full-on matte. The fragrance is a fresh citrus fragrance that fades within the first 10 minutes of application. Hope that helps!

I am in love with the Hera Sunscreen ❤️ My skin is not a fan of the fragrance since it is rather sensitive and: it did leave a slight white cast on my face - since I have rather dark skin - but, even after running a half marathon, the sunscreen was still there on my face - and I got no irritation on my eyes after sweating -. I hope the product gets back in stock on Stylevana for Germany - otherwise I will try the Walter-Proof Sun Milk from Missha -. 😊

    • @OdileMonodTheMonodist
      @OdileMonodTheMonodist  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Basically the parent company of Isa Knox (LG Household & Health Care) acquired Avon US, China and Japan a few years ago and they've been releasing some products specifically for those markets. The Anew Solaire sunscreen is the sunscreen they developed for the North American market, since the US doesn't accept new UV filters and they can't sell the original Isa Knox sunscreen available in Korea (the one mentioned in this video). The US version is not available in Korea, so I'm not sure how the two compare but the company makes great sunscreens in general so I guess it shouldn't be too terrible 😁
