Shining the light on avocado productivity

As part of the Queensland Government led Small Tree High Productivity Initiative, researchers have examined the impact of light interception on productivity in avocado orchards.
Light is an important consideration for growers of tree crops, and avocados are no exception.
When light falls on tree canopies it is intercepted by leaves and is used by these leaves to drive photosynthesis producing the energy that trees use to grow, flower and fruit.
