This melody is the reason Blue was such a great song. While being an interesting take on depression, the lyrics of course weren't anything to write home about - but the melody really carried the song. That's why 20 odd years later we're getting these artists remixing it and putting out songs using its melody.

hey so at min 0:35 how do you learn to be able to do that, like change the tempo and play the right hand normal but left had that one continuous note, I'm still tryna figure it out
Tempo is not changing It's 125 bpm all the way. Firts I play 2 notes per "click" and then I go one note per "click". It's not hard if you practice with metronome.

I used to play guitar myself, and I eventually slowly stopped due to time constraints and stuff but recently bought a keyboard and have been looking for something that would be both fun to learn, nice to listen to and that I wouldn't get tired of screwing up lol. God-gifted talent! Excellent piano playing and sound! One of my favourite songs...didn't have enough words to describe such a MASTERPIECE. Keep it up! Even I learn the piano...have cleared Initial Grade and Grade- 1. Mindblowing!
I actually don't think this particular song would be too hard to learn with a full instructional video. Start with the melody of one hand and then the other for a portion of the song, repeat it until you know it, then move further in the song. I used to want to get a keyboard for practice but somewhere along the way, I forgot about that. Mainly, being an adult happened, lol. That's alright, I don't have the space where I'm at currently but when I move out on my own next year, I'll have a spare room as a study and music area I can create. Then I shall see what these fingers can learn!
That is how that song was born) The guy just train an etude on piano in music studio and the owner walk near the open door, hear it, and back a some time later when the melody just don't leave his head all that time and they decide make a song, call one guy who work on studio to write a text, he wrote 3 varioations on that melody - 2 normal (by their words) and 1 crazy "I'm blue". Of course they left "I'm blue" XD so that trio that sing that song is not a music band! I'ts a composer, studio owner and just guy who worked on that floor who wrote the text)
Sadly too many people did. I always knew that it was false as the song name was I’m blue (da ba Dee) making it clear... the melody was so beautiful and rich with a unimaginable sound that I feel in total love. So I know most too much of the song........ I’m blue da ba Dee da ba die
There are countless versions of what people thought the text said ... 'If I were green I would die' is really hilarious, but there are also gems like 'in Aberdeen I would die' XD
I think this would have been so much fun to learn on the piano when I was in high school and then to have played it at a talent contest especially if I was to wear a blue tuxedo😂
