I played South Korea, quickly grabbed the North, United Korea and I became Nationalist and mostly focused on Navy and Artillery defend units and once the factories are built, I started spamming tanks and battleships against China, Russia and Japan, it was painful but I can assure you, you could break the game because once I got economic boom, I had 45billion or somewhere high numbers and spammed the tanks lol.
I'd recommend you to try playing as Korea and conquer the whole world with the Nationalist power lol.
Korea is certainly on my list.
