Ahh youngsters these days ! Set up seems to be the norm these days. Us old uns were used to huge speakers loads of lights and vinyl boxes that would chole a donkey. Good luck guys great to see you getting out there. Not a lot of oyunger ones coming through thats why I still get loads of work.....
The dB technologies speakers you got from personal experience of hearing them actually sound miles better than the rcf range, I would recommend the dB technologies 18inch sub as a upgrade. In my disco rig I run allen and heath xone desk, crown amps with martin audio speaker system technics turntables, light wise I got 4x martin mac 500s with avolites pearl expert but all ex hire kit
It's a big set up compared to mine but like you mine is all self financed too and it's not easy. As a tip I would suggest to anyone to assemble your stand first keeping the rigging about waist height, assemble the lighting then one stand at either end and raise the poles.
Thanks for the tips, I'll bear them in mind in the future. I've been told by other people to have the sub central unless I were to use two in which case I'd put the tops on poles either side above them.
Worst thing to do is have someone standing around not really doing anything. Old mate in the white jumper picks something up and puts it back in the same place on several occaisions. Efficiency is your best friend! Something like this should only take half an hour to set up.
Tienes una gran puesta en marcha. Usted debe invertir en un DJ Fachada. No estoy seguro si tienes uno. Si no lo hace, se compleet su configuración y le dará un aspecto muy bien terminado. Buena suerte. ¿Qué tipo de altavoces está usando?
You assembled the truss after putting it up on the stands? You should put the two pieces together on the ground first, then lift it up on the stands (and then attach lights). Still a nice clean little setup.
even if you have two its better to put them in the middle and the two tops just at each side one, better sound quality and a few more decibells then when they´re under the tops :)
For this gig? - RCF 705AS Sub - dB Technologies 402d tops - ADJ Inno Scans - ADJ Vertigo Tri LEDs - ADJ Mega Flash DMX Strobe - Trancension Show Director - American Audio Q-Spand Pro - Traktor Kontrol S4 - MacBook Pro
Looks like you spent a lot of money on your gear. Protect your investment and case up those lights. Instead of a cloth over the table try looking at a "Table Skrim" from Skrim King or DJwrapz which are available in black or white. Also try bolting your truss together on the floor first, you'll find it a lot easier than standing on you sub (ouch!) .Check out Brian S Redd he has some excellent videos on TH-cam I'm sure could help you improve your rig.
I have since bought some Skrim! Working on the flight cases though as they are fairly expensive and gigs are few & far between at the moment as I'm busy with other work! I do however hope to invest in some soon :) Thanks for the advice!
Lito Sayan You can either by a quiet but kick ass speaker or at the same price buy a shitty car stereo, do ur research bitch, this dj shit ain't cheap, the truss alone is expensive
Please refer me to the legislation that states that, however, there was a five metre gap between the crowd and the DJ setup so I did not feel they were completely necessary for that rig.
+Jamie G you say that until a fixture falls off or a clamp fails and kills someone or puts them in hospital. I know I've a had a few lights fail mid event and stop short of killing someone because it was caught by a Safety chain. Safety chains are an absolute must in the professional world - you don't fuck around with hanging lighting no matter the install. Get OHNS right or GTFO. Not to mention you have the wrong clamps for the stile of lighting bar you have.
Lol. Okay so A) This is two years old. I was 15 then and at the time having not worked on larger gigs I considered it to be a 'large' setup for what I offered as a Mobile DJ service at the time...400 people was much greater than the 80 people I was used to at parties. That setup was more than adequate for what I needed. B) Haha, that's great for you. I'm now regularly employed (freelance) to mix FOH by a large sound hire company based in the UK that, yes funnily enough, do work on 'festivales' as you say (or festivals in the English Language). C) I have in fact bought everything seen in that video myself. That sub was bought second-hand off a friend of mine..I shouldn't need to explain that to you anyway. D) Dude, it's just a video title. Does it affect you in any way? No...thanks for the deconstructive, pointless and ignorant comment though. You surely must have something better to do with your time than being an arsehole to someone you don't even know anything about on TH-cam.
+Jamie G I'm only 17 and I Dj every weekend the whole year for every type of party and I'm completely self invested and I rock four 18s and a pair of peavey sp4s. The system I have will slam for over 500 people with no problem. That system you have is very small

The setup looks pretty
I always love a nice, neat, symmetrical setup. lol :)
It's a big set up compared to mine but like you mine is all self financed too and it's not easy. As a tip I would suggest to anyone to assemble your stand first keeping the rigging about waist height, assemble the lighting then one stand at either end and raise the poles.
I think the light in the bottom-right corner is the Prosound Preva Roll LED, it does a good job for a fairly basic, cheap light.
let me guess , did you get it from maplin?
I'd call that pretty large. Fuck, dj equipment isn't cheap
Thanks for the tips, I'll bear them in mind in the future. I've been told by other people to have the sub central unless I were to use two in which case I'd put the tops on poles either side above them.
One of them was my colleague's, we just decided to use mine in the end.

nice setup mate!!!

I think that's the power strip part to the Trancension Show Director

- RCF 705AS Sub

- ADJ Vertigo Tri LEDs

Buy some velcro cable ties, far quicker and neater than wrapping cables around poles.
Dj is my favorite
I think the bit I hung was just the power unit to connect the light power to, it is designed to be put on the truss!
Correct, I just left the camera filming, imported everything then sped it up. I used Final Cut X.
what is the name of the whole truss system?
What for speakers ??
They're the American DJ Inno Scan LED's
I think I have some vids from the event but from what I can remember I didn't really get enough to make it worthwhile to do a gig log :( Sorry!
where did you buy your lights from??
Hehe.. The first thing I saw was the Traktor controller in the background.
I have a question. How do you have connected your speakers with the subwoofer?
Using a ( cross over) separate high fhz from low, it be built into sub
Oops just noticed it was 4 years ago . Got a new setup boys?

Lito Sayan You can either by a quiet but kick ass speaker or at the same price buy a shitty car stereo, do ur research bitch, this dj shit ain't cheap, the truss alone is expensive

It's a strobe.
when using g clamps it's a legal requirement to use safety chains
Please refer me to the legislation that states that, however, there was a five metre gap between the crowd and the DJ setup so I did not feel they were completely necessary for that rig.
